Great location, 5 minutes away from Tenmonkan. The room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The 5 beds were firm and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to prepare dishes for our children. The refrigerator is large so you can stock up on drinks and snacks. There are many USB ports to charge your electronic devices too.

Checking in is a little tedious, you have to enter passport information for everyone who is staying, but that can be done ahead of time online through their website. Still, you will not be able to check in a minute earlier than 3 PM. After that it's smooth sailing though,

Spent 2 nights here before travelling to Yakushima. Chose the location because of the proximity to the ferry which was very useful. Location is actually really convenient for taking the tram to get around the city and is next to Tenmonkan shopping area. Really nice restaurant nearby. Check-in process was a bit quirky - had to talk to a contact centre when we arrived but it worked outy just fine.

The convenient and easy check-in process using an iPad. It took less time and hassle than a hotel front reception. I also liked the tablet in the room to access communication with the staff via chat. Spacious room with large beds. Clean bathroom and showers. Having a laundry machine in the room waa a huge plus!

There was a party in the room below us with loud music and possibly smoking or drinking. We addressed the issue with the staff through the chat on the tablet in our room.

Kitchenette was nice to have with young kids. The drying room in the shower was awesome. Our room was very clean.

The room was narrow, not a lot of room to move around in the room and it was difficult getting in and out of the room as a group with a stroller

We got the room that had two twin beds and it was on the 1F, quite comfortable with a kitchenette and we enjoyed having the washing machine! It was very clean. The automatic check-in is quite convenient. There is no staff but there's a tablet in the room from where you can call them if needed. We really liked having all the instructions for everything in that tablet!

The beds are a bit hard

Big room with a TV, really nice shower and bathroom space. It’s right in the main centre of Kagoshima and near the tram lines so it’s very convenient. The ferry port is also a short walk away. The price is reasonable but more expensive than other Grand Base hotels I’ve used.

The curtain over the front window was broken; it wouldn’t close so light was let into the room, and since this window leads onto the street it didn’t feel very private.

Fantastic room with great and modern facilities. No staff, so some technical understanding to check in is required. The process is pretty straightforward though.

The windows were a disappointment, they let in no natural light and were blocked off.

Such a great hotel! We loved it! Our room was very large and comfortable. It was like a small apartment with 4 beds (2 double beds + 2 single beds), a small kitchen area, a small lounge area with a couch and a large bathroom with a washing machine. The self-check-in was easy. Great location; close to tramway stop, shops and restaurants. Walking distance to ferry port.

The room is spacious and chic, the beds were very comfortable. It was clean. The hotel is close to the port to go to Sakurajima. I recommand!

The room is not so bright but we didn’t care because we were outside visiting!
