The hotel offered a comfortable stay at the end of a long train ride from Copenhagen, and before taking the ferry to the Faroe Islands. The room was very spacious. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel was a little expensive but then Denmark is expensive. The location was perfect for the Aquarium - the only thing to see in Hirtsals - but was half an hour's walk from the town centre. Fortunately the town has an excellent bus service and a bus was waiting when our train arrived. Forty 40 Danish Kroner the bus would take you to any accommodation in the town. And the bus was there to take us to the ferry terminal the next morning. Incidentally, for anyone arriving by train from Aalborg, as we did, the train makes a stop right by the hotel before going on to the port. By the time we realised, the train doors had already closed.

The restaurant dinner was very good. Location was great for ferry access and they have inexpensive long term parking to leave a car if you want to leave it while in Norway.

The room had an overwhelming floral citrus industrial chemical odor. Literally made my nose run and eyes water. We realized it was coming from a potted waxy substance placed under the bathroom counter. We moved it outside and opened the window and the outside door for 30 min and the breeze improved things immensely. If they cleaned surfaces properly and thoroughly, they wouldn’t have to mask odors with perfumed scents.

Breakfast was excellent and with great views. We had a ground floor dog friendly room with a outside door for easy access. Our planned late arrival was expected and they very quickly processed us and all staff were very helpful.

The shower drain produced a bad toilet smell through out our stay. there was no time to fix it before we left.

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and offered a variety of options. I liked the fact that hotel wasn't entirely closed in the evening. You could still take advantage of the facilities offered, like bar etc.

To my liking it was a it too hot in the room. Orange juice that was served for breakfast was diluted and low quality.

We spend one night at the Skaga Hotel in preparation for taking the ferry to Kristiansand the next day. The hotel is well suited for ferry travel and the reception staffs were excellent. We were travelling with a pug dog, and they placed us in a suitable room that was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The pool and the sauna was available and very good for use. The restaurant provided a variety of local dishes that were both affordable and delicious. The breakfast was included and contained a good selection of hot and cold items. We had a very relaxed and comfortable experience with Skaga and the staff were great, friendly and provided excellent support.

A modern business-like hotel with a great location just a few hundred meters from the Hirtshals ferry terminals. The hotel is everything you need as a traveller, you can drink a beer on the terrace, breakfast is very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful - and above all its great value.

The mattress on my bed was a bit soft and sponge-like - but that’s a personal preference I guess.

The room we stayed in was huge with separate seating area, overall the hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Extremely close to the train station and close to the ferry terminal while still in walking distance to town. We did enjoy our stay and the breakfast was probably the best we had on our entire trip which covered 4 countries. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Hirtshals for me is only a location to travel through rather than stay but this is no reflection on the hotel.

Very friendly and hospitable staff, good hotel, vgood breakfast, exactly on the location where you need a hotel when you travel to Norway by boat.

The duvet was a little bit too warm, but that has been the case in most of the hotels I visited. I was later than expected due to traffick so checking in before midnight would have been problematic with some more bad luck.

We were welcomed by the most friendly receptionist at 22 pm. Often you find young teenage girls working these shifts, not caring much, but here was a true receptionist with a great smile!! 😁 A good start! 👌

A little cold in the rooms. There is a heater but I forgot to set it...my bad! And the breakfast is typically from 8-11, at this establishment it was set to 7-10...

The hotel was ideally situated to catch the ferry to Norway and it was a relief to be able to easily park our large motorhome. We had a comfortable room and there was space outside to play with our Border Collie. The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our meals in the Panorama Restaurant.
