Authentic Japanese experience in the countryside. The rooms were quite spacious, with a decent cooking area and dining room adjacent to the bedroom. We were comfortable on the futons and it was perfectly quiet throughout the night. The onsen was very relaxing after a day of travelling. The owners are also lovely, they made us feel very welcome despite the language barrier and even offered us a ride to the airport in the morning.

It is in a very remote area, so much more ideal for guests with cars. The wifi didn't really work for us and there was no data signal.

2 roomed chalet with Japanese bedroom and kitchen with western dining table. The ensuite was off the kitchen. The place was poorly insulated but the heating worked well. Free parking was 10m from the chalet. The hot spring baths were segregated and very hot. There was one pool each side about 3m x 4m. I didn’t like that you could see into the ladies changing room through the flimsy curtains. The landlady spoke little English but was helpful.

There was little cooking equipment and it was difficult to cook on the one hot plate. I think there was a microwave in a communal area but we did not check this out. There was a menu for the restaurant but it was not open for dinner (and probably not breakfast as well) in November.

This is very close to the airport (if you have a rental car) and is tucked away in a valley all by itself. We had room 7 facing the forest and we really enjoyed our stay. We found the owner to very friendly and we were able to have some good times there chatting with her. This is a simple husband and wife business and is not high end. The onsen is hot, which is great. There’s only about 10 cabins which is nice. It was very peaceful. We used this as a launch pad to other places and onsens in the kirishima area too.

Quiet location in the hills surrounded by trees. The rooms are inside cabins, mine was more than satisfactory. The onzen was nice, and when I went in the evening, I had it all for myself. Additionally there were 4 private baths available. Not mentioned in the description, but dinner and breakfast were available on location (but not included in the price).

Although it didn't bother me personally, the place wasn't the cleanest-looking in some locations.

Very nice onsen hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Staff even gave a ride to the restaurant nearby and picked us up after dinner. Traditional and simple onsen, indoor, and outdoor. Great location

During our stay, only men onsen had outdoor bath. Are there possibility to switch men and women parts each day, as it is done in some onsen, so that both can have sometimes outdoor onsen.

Very Nice owner, helped us to get to train station at the end of our stay. Also offered us eggs and coffee The place has an onsen, there were not many guests so we had it to ourselves

The onsen was amazing. Mineral rich water that also was drinkable.

It’s up in the mountains so you need to do your shopping/convenience store visit before heading to the site.
