Room recently refurbished to a high standard
Bathroom (Room 7) was spotless but had a damp / old building smell despite it just being refurbished to a high standard, I think reason is that the secondary double glazing is not enabling the room to breathe when unoccupied by adding a fan or air vent may assist.

We have stayed here once before and love the village location, the Pub is so nice and cosy. We arrived during a really cold week and they had had thick snow in the precious few days. Our room and the bed was large and comfortable, shower was easy to use and temperature good. Our dinner over at the pub was delicious, the staff were polite and the service quick. Breakfast was plentiful.
One thing that could have been done for the customers was to have cleared the pathway from the accommodation to the carpark. I appreciate the fact that they were short staffed during the cold weather of that week but it was very icy stepping out from the door of the accommodation, especially when needing to walk over to the pub for dinner and breakfast.

The rooms are in a building opposite the pub. They were nicely decorated, clean, comfortable, and warm. Our room also had a kettle with tea/coffee making items. The king-size bed was very comfy The staff were very friendly. We only ate breakfast in the pub, a Full English breakfast, which was tasty and filling. A continental breakfast was also available. We were attending an event nearby so we didn't eat evening meals but the menu looked food with local and seasonal ingredients, and good value for money. We did have drinks in the bar, which had a lovely atmosphere, and the log fire was great on the cold evening. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

As a frequent visitor to Wentworth Woodhouse (just five minutes up the road) I have stayed in this hotel a lot over the years. I never had any complaints but now it's been refurbished I must say that it's absolutely stunning. Beautiful spacious rooms with gorgeous bathrooms. Lovely decor befitting of the idyllic village it's a part of. I'll be honest I didn't want to leave the last time I stayed. It's just so nice and I'd recommend it to everyone and all of their friends.
BUT I will never ever, for however long I live, understand this persistence that the hotel cannot provide wifi. Even if they charged for it, an hour or day pass, that's fine! We'll pay. Let us browse. We're on holiday. (They do advertise that it's not available so this is not a secret).

We stay here as it is inbetween two different family locations. Last stayed about 6 years ago and the rooms etc were very tired. Completely different now..very nice decor . Beďroom lovely, very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Was given plenty more tea/ coffee supplies when requested Plenty of choice for breakfast .. continental and variations of full english .. All the staff qe encountered were friendly and helpful Private car park. Easy walking to Wentworth Woodhouse
On available told no wifi in the bedroom accommodation. Told they are trying to remedy this. Was able to log in whilst in the main pub. Was slightly inconvenient especially for husband trying to deal with work emails . The shower curtain ... just a pet hate of mine.

Room was spacious and comfortable and the decor was very tasteful and calming. Water was hot in the bathroom and we slept really well. The room was nicely private and not overlooked or noisy at all.
There wasn’t anything we really didn’t like, though we noticed a few things that might be useful to you; There seemed to be a wifi box on the ceiling but it didn’t seem to be on and though it said there was wifi in the room, there wasn’t any to log in to or a password available. There were no biscuits on the tea tray, which is a nice touch. The spacious adapted wet room was great, though the curtain rail was so close to the fold up disability seat that having it closed meant the was little room to shower. Having it open lead to the whole room becoming wet though. Perhaps the curtain could be moved out from the shower seat, say 6’’ to make better space?

Super clean and very modern rooms. The room I had featured a lovely bath which was a real treat. The rooms are across the road from the pub which is super convenient.
The rooms are close to the road. Whilst the venue has done as much as they can to soundproof the rooms by installing additional glazing inside the original windows,; the proximity of the traffic (maybe 5m from the bed) does mean you hear cars as they pass by (kind of a soft ‘swoosh’). The road quietens down in late evening so traffic (and therefore traffic noise) reduces before night time.

excellent location for the purpose of the trip; staff were extremely helpful and courteous, despite being very busy; Room was small but comfortable with adequate storage capability; Comfortable bed with reading lights both sides; Restaurant food was delicious and reasonably priced; breakfast was 'included' in our deal, and was very good in both quality and quantity, with many options to select from; overnight parking was excellent; provision for 'out-of-hours' contact was available if needed; local village 'amenities' like post-office / convenience store / tea-room etc - easily accessed by a few minutes' stroll. Beautiful local Church.
no room-cleaning during stay ( rural, so spiders in several places ); towels not changed daily, so wet after first use and remained damp; over-the-bath shower was tricky ( I am over 70 and less nimble ); minimal toilet-roll supply available ( though I didn't ask staff for more, so my fault ); traffic more prevalent than anticipated, though relatively quiet beyond midnight, but made crossing the road to the main building require 'vigilance'; NB: these are 'niggles' rather than complaints, intended solely to paint a full picture of our stay.

Staff were great, nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent - we had dinner and breakfast. Room was comfy but would have benefitted from a small sofa or 2 armchairs at the end of the bed rather than having to sit on the bed to watch TV.
Nothing that we didn't like but worth noting that the rooms are in a separate building on the opposite side of the road and our room was on the ground floor at the front and literally about 18 inches from the road - not much traffic on the Sunday night we stayed but was a little bit noisier on the Monday morning .

This is a olde worldly village, and an older worldly Inn, BUT has recently been refurbed to give it a sympathetic modern interior, which made our stay amazing. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and modern. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff were super friendly. Our stay really exceeded our expectations, and we thought it was really good value for money. We visit the local Wentworth Woodhouse (charity / tourist attraction) on a semi-regular basis and we will definitely be staying at the Rockingham Arms again!! Truly a lovely experience, thank you!!
For us, there was nothing that we "didn't like". But some guests might struggle with the Old-Cottage-Stairs BUT these guests can book an available room on the ground floor, so as not to miss out on staying at such a wonderful country inn
