Honestly couldn’t fault this hotel. Yes, slightly small room if booking studio but very well equipped and perfect for city stays. Very clean, comfortable and had lovely products in bathroom! Nicolas the gentleman at reception was very informative, polite and an overall friendly man! Complimentary coffee and juice on 5th floor was a bonus too. Will 100% book again

Great location. Close to underground plus also within walking district to central London if up for it. Close to many good restaurants & bars, open & light rooms.

Kitchen sink way to small but mostly ate out

I planned a trip to London with my best friend during the semester break from university and was a guest in this hotel from February 21st to February 28th. WOW, we have both been to a few hotels around the world and we really loved this hotel. It's definitely one of the best. It is very modern, very clean and the rooms are spacious. It also has a lounge with free drinks (juices, coffee, cocoa and teas). A huge plus is definitely the staff, who were always extremely attentive and friendly. We particularly remember Mohammed, Hassan and Jamad and Renata. Once we asked for a plug for the socket, as the sockets in England are different to those in Germany and it was given to us immediately and helpfully. Our wishes were read from our lips. We really enjoy coming back and will recommend the hotel. It is suitable for vacationers and business travelers. Thanks for the nice time :)

Location, cleanness

The lady at check in and check out (same person). She wasn’t pleasant ( she checked us in with no empathy..)

Clean, modern and comfortable. Easy access to Aldgate East Rail. Good restaurants close by.

Penthouse suite had solar panels outside and weeds growing. Otherwise great views. The AC seemed temperamental but as it was cold outside, I did not need it. Things like kitchen rolls and washing liquids were not present.

Very good location. Close to the tube station (2 minutes walking). At that tube station you can take direct lines to the main objectives in London. Also, the Elisabeth line has connection with the lines that pass near (if you arrive at Heathrow airport). The place is quiet, there war a few siren noises from ambulance, police and firefighers but they didn't bother us at night. The room noise isolation is quite good, we didn't hear noise from the neighbours. There was the posibility to heat the room up to 25 degrees Celsius (the room has a thermostat that adjusts the ventilation system).

They didn't take the rubbish out until the third time we asked them to (this happened on the 3rd day, we asked them from the second day of our stay, maybe they just forgot). The view from the skyline studio was not great (we stayed on the 10th floor). The bed was less than 160cm in width, even if they say it's a large double bed.

It is an exceptional hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. During my first night at the hotel, I realized that A/C was not operating. It was too late for me to change the apartment but I was offered a set of warm blankets instead - that was a good idea to solve the problem temporarily. Next day I was offered an apartment at the top floor and a free breakfast for me and my partner, as a compensation for the inconvenience. Apartments are top class - most of them got fully equiped kitchen, so you will be able to prepare meals yourself if you prefer to. Apartments are even equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and a pack of eco-friendly washing tablets, powders etc.. What really suprised me is that, they provide top quality cosmetics for your stay. Check ingredients yourself - No SLES, only best quality ingriedients. The only thing that could be better, is a greater choice of breakfast menu. The hotel is located in a Zone 1, so we didn't even travel to the other zones, because most of the main attractions are located in the Zone 1. The hotel is top quality and they really pay attention to the details. The hotel stands out from the other hotels I have ever stayed in. I would definitely visit the hotel again with pleasure.

Room: adequate space, very confortable bed, a great all-body mirror, plugs very well located Kitchen: very tiny but works pretty well, there is no stove, but there is a oven/microwavr that fit out needs Bathroom: very nice lightning and shower, they provide a good hairdryer, but often it tuns off due to the heat (just wait a moment and then it tuns up again). There are great amenities! Breakfast: its amazing!! Lots of options, from healthy to fatter…Even salmon is served! The highlight is definitly the 5th floor, a common space with free coffee, juices, tea. Location: perfectly located near Tower Bridge, Bricklane and spitalfields market (a must!!), lots of food and market options around and very close to the underground and bus stops

Leaving 🥲

Good to get an apartment with washing and cooking facilities at this price. In the middle of my three week trip it was a chance to do my laundry and make my own meals. Plus the great shared space with balcony area was ideal for meeting friends. Across the road is the vibrant atmosphere of Shoreditch with Brick Lane and, a little further down (8ish min walk) is Spitalfields and Boxpark. Just an amazing vibe. Aldgate East Tube station is about a 3 min walk.

Nothing to dislike really. Don’t expect it to be super luxurious but is it clean, comfortable, great views to the city from the upper floors, and well appointed rooms.

Such a wonderful home away from home, with hotel amenities! The 5th floor lounge that had complimentary coffee 24 hours per day was lovely. Our room itself was beautifully designed, making the absolute most of the space. The breakfast staff was welcoming, friendly, and very personable. We loved the location, which has the BEST Korean restaurant, Bari Bari, just steps away from The Gate, and an excellent higher-end grocery store right across the street. The walking distance to Brick Lane and Shoreditch is perfect. We'll be back - thank you so much for an exceptional stay!

Absolutely nothing. Can't say enough about this place. The only thing to keep in mind is location. We've spent a lot of time in London so were delighted to be on the east end. If you're on a sightseeing only trip, you may find this far away from the hub-bub. But if, like us, you're looking to get into Central London and explore new neighborhoods, The Gate is beyond ideal.
