Airy open ground floor has a colonial border town vibe, a lot nicer than we were expecting and good for a night on the way to take the boat to Phnomn Penn next morning. The terrace / river view is atmospheric. Staff were lovely, and we agreed that the spring rolls here were the best of our entire trip.

Not sure I’d come for a holiday, but for passing through it’s great, and the food was good.

The location was perfect for us. We were catching the boat to Cambodia in the morning and the dock is at the hotel. The view from the room was stunning - straight up the river! Beautiful outdoor area at river. Superb breakfast with many choices in a buffet style. Helpful signage in the rooms, namely that the topical climate means mosquitos, however, we were not bothered by them.

The Victoria Hotel was a great base for exploring Chau Doc. The room was spacious for ourselves and still plenty of room with the spare bed set up. The breakfast buffet was more than we needed, but the a la carte options were wonderful and well priced. The room was clean and the staff helpful. We also booked two of their tours, the Village tour and the Bird Life tour. We were so lucky to have been placed with the guide Douc, who was incredible. He had such wonderful knowledge, and was so lovely to spend the day with. Not overwhelming with information, but just the right amount, and was able to answer all our questions. Both tours are definitely worth while. The village tour is so interesting as you tour different villages and learn more about the various cultures that exist in the Chau Doc area. The bird life experience was magical and so cool to see the oasis of the nature reserve. Both are must-do experiences. We were also luck to have lunch at a sister hotel Nui Sam, which was so gorgeous and such a treat.

The hotel is a bit dated/worn, but very clean and well maintained. Overall, no complaints.

We had a room with a view overlooking the pool and the river that we had travelled on, by Hang Chau Express Ferry from Phnom Penh (definitely recommend that!). Location is perfect as you can easily walk along the promenade to the riverside market, as well as the bustling town centre. Lovely staff, pool well maintained. Breakfast (included) was amazing and we dined in for dinner which was a treat. More expensive for our budget, but great value for money. Staff booked transfer and bus to Ho Chi Minh City

This was my second time staying at Victoria Chau Doc and everything was great. Tran at the front desk was very helpful and assisted with booking the speedboat to Phnom Penh as well as arranging laundry pick up and delivery. The room was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful old hotel, situated smack bang in the center of town on a cofluence of the Mekong which extended an incredible vista. Great restaurant, great service.

Room was a little small and stuffy at night, balcony was unusable due to mosquitos swarms off the river.

Beautiful property, right by the river with a very nice swimming pool. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is also very good (though expensive for Vietnam standards). Excellent breakfast buffet.

The blankets and mattress smelled like mildew. That said, I understand that Chau Doc is a very humid location, specially by the river, but at the price point this should not happen.

Absolutely loved the view from the main area of the hotel. Pool was way too warm and not refreshing. Communication was a little bit of an issue with some staff but they were lovely. Supermarket across the road so great to drinks at a cheaper price.

Nothing around for eating apart from many coffee shops.

Everything about the hotel was excellent, the rooms (views over the river are preferable), food, location and pool. What was most exceptional though were the staff. We had an issue with a lost passport and the staff could not have done more to help, been more hospitable, genuine, kind and calm throughout. I wish I had taken the names of the manager and lady at reception to send a personal thanks. Would recommend most highly.

Great location. The hotel is right on the river (great views!) and on the edge of the town center. This means it is much quieter than the hotels in the town center (where we initially stayed). The views from pool and restaurant were fantastic and the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. However, the highlight of our stay was the front desk staff: Tham (morning) and Tu Khuc (afternoon), who were born so helpful and friendly.
