Paul and Sue, absolute gems. Made our hectic week come to a halt as soon as we stepped in. Facilities were honestly perfect (bathroom mirror with built in bluetooth made me go back to the younger me getting ready with music on) The bed was so comfortable we fell asleep as soon as we came back and stayed asleep for the whole night! Nice, cosy and welcoming is the best words I can use to describe the place. But let’s not forget about the view, proper breathtaking sea view.

Great location with parking. Easy check-in out of hours. Great communication from the owner. Clean, comfortable room with good coffee facilities. Could log in to Netflix when back after busy day of sightseeing. Great location for seeing Bangor - my 8yr old son loved Pickie Park and Ballyholme beach. Also east for getting train to Belfast for a day of sightseeing - 10min walk to station, half hour journey. We had a great stay here and would not hesitate to recommend.

The hosts Sue and Paul were lovely and very helpful with recommending what to do and where to eat and shop around Bangor/ Belfast which made the overall stay and experience both wonderful and enjoyable. The location of the guesthouse is very central to the Marina and main streets/ restaurants and bars in the town, all within walking distance. The guesthouse and rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious providing good value for money. Highly recommended stay at Shelleven Guesthouse!

Room was ideal for us on the ground floor and the landlady was very helpful on anything we needed help on. Bathroom in particular was huge and felt luxurious. The guest house was ideally located for access to the marina and was just a short walk.

Without a car it was sometimes a struggle for my mother to get to the train station etc but there were alternatives to walking.

A wonderful stay at the property. The beds were very comfy, the sheets were soft, the number of pillows and extra blankets were lovely and the bathroom was great. The large bottles of water and the tea and coffee selections, along with the number of milk containers and biscuits were excellent. Our room was a lovely size, well-lit and quiet. There was a lot of attention to detail with tissues, charging ports and suitcase racks readily available.

The breakfast was plentiful, varied, hot and tasty. Excellent it took me through the day to my evening meal. The owners and staff couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful. Rooms were clean and seen to every day with tea,coffee, biscuits replenished daily. Bed was extremely comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again - such a friendly place and so close to the marina and train station.

The staff were terrifically friendly, remembered your name you felt like family. It was scrupulously clean, in the room and common areas. The rooms were well finished and included shower gel etc. The single bed was a 3/4 so very roomy. Overall nothing disappointed. The breakfast was fabulous, I had the full Irish, and really didn’t need to eat much more in the day.

Lovely quaint, homely place. The hosts are absolutely fantastic and very helpful which makes the stay that little bit more enjoyable. I used the wheelchair accessible room which had a lovely wheel in shower and separate tub with plenty of space all around

Wonderful Victorian property with a comfortable room. My room was a walk up to the third floor, which was fine with me. The breakfast (an extra charge) was exceptional. Parking was easy and convenient, as I walked to the train station to explore Belfast. Because of the timing of my travel, I wasn't able to meet Sue when I arrived, but her emails and assistance were very helpful.

we booked the larger room and found it to be exactly as described, furnished as pictured. Everything you needed was available tea/coffee and a coffee machine . There was always lots of lovely thick white towels in the bathroom. The breakfasts were a delight cooked fresh and of a high quality. The owners and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. There is ample car parking and access to amenities in the area, ie restaurants, bars and the harbour are very close to just walk. It is less than 10 minutes to walk to the station where you can get easy access to Belfast, easier than trying to park in the city. Bangor is an ideal place to stay if your touring.
