View, room furnishings, bed (wonderful). Grounds are beautiful. Really magical room/view (volcano view).

Key card never worked, but they gave us a physical key. The restaurant is pretty awful. Nothing we ordered (ever) was served hot. In fact, it was often cold. Didn’t send it back because we had to leave for a prearranged excursion. Staff are uninformed about when breakfast can be ordered, whether they offer room service or not, and more. Expect to wait long times for service. You might have to go get them yourself. We did. It’s a shame really, because the restaurant has amazing views. If it weren’t for the restaurant’s poor service and food, this property would be simply outstanding.

The surrounding beauty of the forest, volcanoes, the views of the lake. All are superb . The facilities are amazing - just like I remember them when I was a child 36 years ago. The beds are extremely comfortable, the room s with a bed to the volcano are the best.

For a property of this class the sofa in room 107 is torn , hairdryer and the tv remote controls didn’t work. There s no aircon. But the weather tends to be cool. The fireplace is only decorative due to the facilities being in a national park .

The views couldn't get any better. The hotel is literally face to face with a volcano, the reason you travel to this part of El Salvador. The hotel is incredibly modern and everything is well kept, clean and sparkling. The restaurant serves good food and the drinks are reasonably priced, considering you're at the top of the volcano park, it is still affordable.

The room had a pretty funky order that seemed to get stronger the longer we stayed. Also, the front desk staff could do a better job of ensuring all guest have the information necessary to complete the Santa Ana hike. Being that there is only one hike available everyday at 9am, it would be wise for the hotel staff to check-in with guests to ensure they are aware of this policy. At a minimum, it might be helpful to put a sign with this information in the lobby in case these details were overlooked on the drive into Cerro Verde.

The staff were always very helpful and kind. The volcano view room was SPECTACULAR, comfortable bed and robes. The shower was cool water (the standard in El Salvador) room had a heater for the chill at night. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. It’s located in the national park with other cafes and puestos, which we ate at and also recommend. The views and nature surrounding was beautiful. We did the hike up Santa Ana (challenging) but an experience of a lifetime.

Besides the cool shower - a strange absence of hooks or places to dry towels and robes in the room.

The views of the volcano from the room are stupendous, and of course the proximity to it, the lake, and all the wonderful hiking made this an excellent place to stay! The room was excellent, comfortable, and very nice to stay in.

Lack of communication of details. The hotel is in a park who's gates close at 9pm and while the calls and messages from the hotel encouraged we drive quickly, there was no mention we would be barred from entering if we passed a certain time. Similarly, we missed the tour because it started at 9am - a detail the staff (and the tours advertisements) neglected to mention.

The location is amazing and since I'm a birder, being able to get up super early and have the park pretty much to myself was great. The room was huge (overkill really) and I liked my back patio. The main dining area was pretty spectacular.

Despite the giant size of the room, it wasn't that thoughtfully designed. For example, there was no place to set your suitcase, no desk, and lots of weird light switches. The breakfast was a lame. The food was OK but not great. There's A LOT of concrete. While it wasn't a good value, being inside the park when it was closed to the public was worth it.

The place is lovely, the view from our room was great as soon as the clouds cleared, the staff is wonderfull, the restaurant and food are ok. Great weather, excelent way to get away from the heat of the city.

The only issue we had was with infrastructure, the day we arrived there had been a storm that damaged the internet service, and without it there was no tv either, so entretainment was very limited over night. I'm not sure how often that happens, but they should have an alternative, like a different provider for tv at least.

The fact that it was in the Volcano National Park. It's literally like a 3 minute walk to the entrance. You just pay a guide and start the hike to the Santa Ana volcano at 9:15 am. Breakfast was good, bed was comfy, the room was spacious and the patio and mountain view was spectacular. Loved hearing all the birds and being up on the mountain, at one with nature. It was such a peaceful stay.

Nothing.

The location right in the national park is unbeatable. Especially if you want to go hike the Santa Ana volcano. The staff was really nice and the view from the rooms are stunning

The price is fairly high considering that there s not much in site (no spa or pool to relax after a long hike ) but just the rooms and the restaurant. The food for diner was so so but the breakfast was really good

Breakfast was delicious and restaurant is very beautiful with a fantastic view! Staff was extremely attentive and respectful; acquiesced all of our requests and needs. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. Layout of the hotel was wonderful and easy to get around. Superseded my expectations.

The only unexpected things were: the lack of AC and the amount of bugs in the room. Being as the hotel is in the middle of a forest there are bugs creeping all around and some bugs are expected but it seems a little extra care can be taken to mitigate excessive amounts of insects in the room. We had bugs, mosquitoes and large spiders in our room, on our bed and in our bathroom.
