Traditional ryokan that is very welcoming. Highly recommended to book your stay with meals. We love the dinner and breakfast served to us in the restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor onsen which is well maintained. There are also free coffee and cold water for you to drink at the lobby area. There is also a small souvenir stall for you to shop. Upon check out, we managed to get the Gero Onsen Gassho Village tickets from the reception at a discounted price.

Spacious rooms. Luxurious traditional Japanese breakfast/dinner with various side dishes. Ultra clean onsen, both indoor and outdoor. Extremely courteous and polite staff. Nice location, few minute walk from Gero station with many shops nearby.

Outdoor onsen is a bit small and the view isn’t that great. Same with the hotel rooms; all you see are some rundown buildings. Despite being fancy, food gets repetitive and boring if you stay for 2 or more days: it consists of a hotpot, miso soup, sushi and grilled fish, and various side dishes.

The location is stunning, understated, and perfect for your first time at an onsen. The staff was beyond courteous and kind. The breakfast was beyond incredible!

Nothing. Everything was spectacular.

The location is amazing, minutes from the station. We were able to drop off our luggages before check-in and went exploring the town. Our luggages were in our room when we checked in. The room was clean and had the authentic feel. Food was amazing with great attention and service from staff. The onsen was very relaxing and we must’ve picked our times well because we had the place to ourselves. We had no trouble communicating in English.

The futons were already laid out when we checked in (before dinner) so the room was a bit awkward to walk around.

The location of the hotel is perfect in this little town. The Onsen area are very clean and perfect to relax after the day. But the best part here were the food! We wrote the hotel just one day before we arrive if it's possible to create vegetarian meals for us. And they did a perfect job! We got the best meals we had in whole Japan and this also super spontaneously. Thanks to the whole team!

Everything was perfect here

Great location in Gero, nice traditional room and relaxing onsen baths. The staff were friendly and the food (breakfast and dinner) on both days was excellent; they even did their best to accommodate my vegan sister's diet, she was really pleased.

The room was large (since there were 4 of us), but didn't feel big because staff had already laid out all our futons when we checked in, and they stayed out for the whole stay, with the low table and chairs pushed to one side of the room. As we were staying for 2 nights, it would have been nice to have the futons put away during the full day we were there. Also the wifi in the room was patchy and slow.

Located within a 2-minute walk from Gero train station, a 5-minuit walk to main town and the beautiful and clean river, location is unbeatable. Although the outdoor onsen is not big, it is sufficient for guests as there are not many rooms so not many guests use the onsen at the same time. Food is great as expected. Service is warm and friendly.

The food - Breakfast and dinner was included and was excellent, served by ladies informing us about the dishes. The hot springs common bathing facility - first time trying.

Sleeping on the floor is not really my cup of tea, but you don't know until you have tried it. Conveniently situated opposite the station, but a bit far away from the tourist attractions - we were walking. This is not about the hotel - but finding a Japanese restaurant for lunch on a Sunday in Gero is not easy.

Elegantly furnished Japanese style room with fine decoration. Cool to have hot spring water available in bathroom. The dinner and breakfast served are superb. Nice public onsen facilities. Overall experience is beyond expectation.
