My stay at Mount Field Retreat was a peaceful and memorable experience. Nestled in the heart of nature, the retreat offered a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The surrounding landscapes were breathtaking, and the overall ambiance was serene, making it an ideal spot for those looking to reconnect with nature. Very Peaceful location. I had a wonderful stay at Mount Field Retreat in Hobart. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for unwinding in nature. The location was ideal, with easy access to Mount Field National Park and nearby walks. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. Amazing WiFi network too. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable getaway, and I highly recommend it for nature lovers.

We were there for only one night. Could have been more nights in this beautiful retreat. Nothing negative.

Superbly thought out and implemented self-catering unit. Right next to the entrance to the National Park. Immaculate, modern, everything you would need. Particularly liked the heating, including the radiant heater light in the en-suite shower room that keeps you warm after a shower! Super comfy bed. Big TV. Comfy sofa, place to unload your suitcase. WiFi, Cooking facilities, fridge, work surface, sink etc… just so nicely done. And the story of their ‘Dream’ project was great to see. We arrived late in the afternoon, after sunset, in winter (late July). We called for advice on where we could get a meal out and they told us about Giants Table in Maydena (“Maydena Eats”). We had a great meal there. We would never have found that place without the helpful advice.

The sign out the front does say Mt Field Retreat but in very small text, which was hard to see in the dark from our car….Need much bigger text. That’s all. Everything else was really great.

It was a functional space. Clean and thoughtfully set out. There were no wasted spaces. The water pressure from the shower was amazing. The staff were quite helpful communicating with us throughout. They also kindly offered us late checkout without extra charge.

The space felt a little too compact in the bedroom. Because the edge of the bed was close to the door, we were occasionally running into that edge. The staff made several efforts to alert me on the fact that they're no constant availability of food sources in the area, which was good. However, I believe that for an accommodation in a place like that, the fridge should have supplies. More effort from the owners can make the facility more enjoyable.

Location was good but needed more detailed directions. (Eg before Information Centre and to let visitors know the GPS doesn’t work!!’ We sailed past the sign and up to the top of the mountain. It was a bit stressful I must say as getting dark on the way back. However, our accomodation was a delight. It was such a pleasure to walk in to no 10 and be happily surprised every step we took 😊😊 We just wished we had another night to make the most of your beautiful cabin. Thank you so much and we are sure you will continue to grow and do amazingly well. Your place is outstanding. Ian and Susan Stocks

More detailed directions. Cabin perfect.

Well located, close to the main road but without traffic noise. Landscaping around the rooms is beautifully done, as are walkways and decking. Rooms are modern, well equipped, and very clean.

Would have appreciated laundry and drying facilities. Indeed there were some in nearby campgrounds, but that's just not the same as having some on site. Maybe something for the owners to consider as more rooms/pods are added.

The King Single pod was exceptionally comfortable and we self catered easily for 2 breakfasts/night meals with a lovely lunch at the Waterfall Cafe and a great meal out at the nearby Hotel. The setting was peacefully quiet with a private deck overlooking a growing fern garden. Owners friendly and helpful. The walks in Mt Field were beautiful so we are keen to return in late autumn/early winter got a different experience. Highly recommend B&L from Adelaide (Feb 2024)

No negatives

New, clean, well equipped. So close to Mt Field National Park

Walls were very thin... Could hear what neighbours were saying and both sides played awful music. Sofa bed was uncomfortable. No blinds on door, so it was very bright in the morning... no chance of a sleep-in if sleeping in living room on sofa bed. Excavator working directly behind units in the morning.

Located right near the entrance to Mount Fields National Park with hidden view from the main road. Short walk to the entrance of the national park where many treks await. Nature right at your door steps. One of the fastest Internet speed we encountered in Tasmania. Access to netflix. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Very comfortable bed. Highly recommended.
