Excellent stay on the Camino. Very nice & elegant room with comfortable bed. Outdoor terrace. Small kitchen with microwave, coffee/tea & cookies. And an excellent host. I told her that I would miss the 7:30am breakfast because I planned to leave at 6:30am. That evening she brought me a big ham, egg & cheese bocadillo and an orange and a muffin…because she wanted me to have something to eat in the morning! So kind! I really appreciated that. She also allowed me to store my backpack at the hotel on the day I arrived…because I arrived early before my room was ready.

Fabulous place. Breakfast included. High quality finishes. All the comforts of home and more. Bed, pillows, sheets, towels, all were great. Great lighting, mirrors, seating, and outlets. Lots of outdoor balconies. Private kitchen on each floor with snacks, tea, coffee, water, milk included. They haven’t missed a detail. By far the best place we stayed on the Camino in 22 days. Did I mention how immaculate the room and bathroom is? I can’t say enough about Wendy. Great service, nice breakfast, wonderful place to stay. If you need a rest day, take it here.

We were greeted with warmth and invited to a very clean and comfortable room with a private bath and a bathtub with lots of towels. What a luxury for a pilgrim on the Camino! The floor shared a fully stocked kitchen with coffee, tea, snacks and candy. This is a must stay in Astorga. I told the owner we would skip breakfast so we can leave early and she insisted she would get up even earlier to cook for us. I can’t imagine anyone else getting treated better in the whole city.

Such a quaint place to stay. It was a very lovely respite on our Camino and was one of our splurges. We stayed 2 nights in Astorga and were happy we choose this place to stay. The staff was lovely. Breakfast was included and was amazing. They had a service to do your laundry and return it to you. It was very close to everything to see but in a quiet location. I would recommend it highly and would stay here again.

Awesome location coming in from the camino... right opposite the cathedral and a supermarket close by. Breakfast was sensational - cooked and all! Probs the best of my 42 days on camino! Loved the self serve kitchen and all the amenities available to use - oh yeah and the biscuits were a welcome treat! Loved the lil Terrace too and room very clean!

My wife and I were very pleased with our stay at El Descanso de Wendy. The room was very nice, the bathroom was spacious and the patio was spectacular. We sat outside as twilight fell and enjoyed chocolates and pastries above the rooftops of Astorga. Great breakfast. Great bed. Quiet.

It was a bit difficult to locate. We had to ask the locals where it was. The receptionist was very helpful and patient but, failed to address some information like washing clothing. Not that big a deal but, it was information we could have used.

What a great place. We are so happy to have stayed at El Descanso de Wendy. The staff were excellent, let us check in early, the room was spotless and had all the amenities we could want and very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was also outstanding, especially being served on our own private alcove. We have no regrets whatsoever staying here.

Reception staff very friendly and attentive. BREAKFAST was excellent, very good food and lovely fresh fruit and juices and great tea and coffee. The girl who served us and prepared and gave us our breakfast was very friendly, service with a lovely smile and so good for the hotel.nead our room ,if you so wished, you could help yourself to tea,coffee, juices and light snacks if you felt like it.Many thanks.

There are lots of things to like about the Descanso de Wendy. The location is great: four minute walk to the Cathedral and the Palacio de Gaudí. One block from the Camino. The place is great, the room spacious, the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was great. I wish all the lodging along the Camino was like this.

The place was very well kept and felt like home. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and clean and had air conditioning. The host was friendly and attentive. They provided an amazing breakfast in the morning too, one of the nicest I’ve had on the Camino. They also provided a laundry service for 8 euro, which was well worth it.
