Lovely hotel! Superb location, walking distance to Tahrir yet distant enough to be quiet at night. The staff are just ON TOP OF IT ALL! Need a sim-card? They'll hook you up. Need advice on a local shawarma with specific requests? They know it all. In need of info before travelling (domestic and international)? They're like the local Wikipedia. I've honestly never felt such trust for any hotel staff anywhere else. Thank you for making my visit MAGICAL!

A great hotel for visitors to Baghdad in an excellent central location. Value for money is very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful, and speak very good English. The rooms are smart, comfortable and clean, and of a much higher standard than those familiar with Baghdad hotels would expect for the price. Breakfast was very good, and the staff even took care of me after I had checked out, while I worked in the hotel's business room for a few hours, and I was provided with tea and cake. A very pleasant stay.

We had a very lovely stay at Shanasheel Palace Hotel. The breakfast was excellent. Without us even asking, they sent juice to our room on the house. We requested a late check-out, and they told us we could leave anytime. When we needed a taxi, they generously offered us free fare to our destination. The entire receptionist team (Ms. Sara, Mr. Ali, and Ms. Nor) assisted us with everything we needed.  Mr. Mahdi at the breakfast buffet was very hospitable and provided outstanding service, and served us coffee whenever we asked for it. Thanks to Mr. Islam, who was cleaning our room—he was very helpful.

The staff are very professional, but at the same they treated me as a family. Breakfast is amazing and for every taste The rooms are OK, but maybe need a bit of renovation of the bathroom- while taking a shower, the glass half separation was not really stopping the water much - the floor was constantly flooded

The location is very convenient. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The staff was very helpful and could speak English. For the few who couldn’t, they were still smiling and trying to find someone quickly to help. The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was great. I also ordered from the room service some food and it was tasty. Welcoming and friendly environment. I appreciated their help.

The first room I got, wasn’t clean and had a strong smell of cigarette. They QUICKLY changed it and gave me a much better room.

Power-cut seems to be part of way-of-life in Iraq and it's not the hotel's fault at all. Iraq has a lot to offer to the world in history heritage and religious heritage. Hope tourism can help Iraq develop quicker.

I recently had the pleasure of staying Shanasheel Palace Hotel for the 2nd time that went above and beyond in terms of hospitality and service. Not only were the accommodations top-notch, but the staff truly went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and helpful attitude of the staff. In fact, when I checked in, they asked me to check several rooms and select the one that I liked best - a level of personal attention that I had never experienced before. One particular experience that stands out in my mind was when we had to catch an early morning flight and requested an early breakfast. The hotel's usual breakfast hours were from 7:00 am onwards, but the staff were kind enough to accommodate our request and provided us with a delicious breakfast at 5:00 am. It was not just cold breakfast package; The breakfast itself was truly exceptional - a wide variety of freshly baked goods, fruits, juices, and hot dishes that were all beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. But what really made this experience special was the fact that the staff were so accommodating and willing to go out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The exceptional service and hospitality we received during our stay really made all the difference, and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Baghdad. If you're looking for a hotel that truly cares about its guests and goes above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable, this is the place for you!

Very clean and modernized building. The staff was always available to help. Laundry service was fast and I have no complaints. The breakfast was excellent. Large and spacious rooms.

Not a big issue, but if you're taking a ride share, you will need to provide additional information about the location, or the driver will end up one block away. On Google maps it will take you to the other side of the street. Maybe this issue will be resolved soon.

Looks so much better than the photos! They need a new photographer. The lobby and restaurant looked like a palace indeed and my room was huge. The staff made me feel like a guest, not like a client. Of all the places I’ve stayed in Baghdad, this one has the highest price to quality ratio. The area around the hotel is good to take taxis to major sights but not very walkable. Breakfast has rich choices. Cleanliness is a 10. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Overall, book it and you won’t regret it.
