We stayed one night at the Hotel Mati July 2024 as a stop over flying from the UK to Athens on to Skiathos. The hotel arranged a taxi transfer that collected us & returned us the following day which was very easy & convenient. The hotel & room was very clean the room we had was comfortable for 3 of us, balcony on the side of the hotel with a view of the sea. Staff were all helpful & polite. The salt water pool & pool area are lovely, snacks & drinks available with a great view of the sea, you can walk to the small beach below. There a few restaurants close by but we choose to eat at the hotel because of the direct view of the sea from the deck - we enjoyed our meal of Greek salad, Souvlaki & house rose.

First impressions the Hotel looks a bit dated but it’s very typical of a European hotel - marble floors, dark wood, quirky furniture, ancient lift but it had character & we enjoyed our stay.

My stay at Mati Hotel was absolutely wonderful! This beautiful seaside boutique hotel exceeded my expectations, from the large balcony offering stunning views to the pristine premises. The staff made all the difference—Vicky at the front desk and Margarita at the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making my experience even more special. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Mati, Greece!

Nothing, it was perfect! I honestly can't think of one thing I would change about this beautiful little place.

2 out of 3 couples received an upgraded sea view corner room - lovely views of the sea with a great balcony, very spacious room with comfortable bed. Snacks and drinks at the pool bar were very good. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool looked very nice however, the weather was not conducive to swimming when we were there.

The parking near the hotel was full so we did have to park our vehicle up a hill in their upper lot. The elevator is very small so if you are travelling with a lot of luggage you will need to make multiple trips.

Beach/sea side view, beautiful big balcony, cold air conditioning, exceptional daily cleaning staff, beautiful pool deck and restaurant patio with great food and drinks. Delicious cocktails too. Delicious breakfast with lots of options. Not too far from the airport and very easy to find.

The toilet leaked water onto the bathroom floor. Room 511. Parking was a 50m walk up a dark alley to an unlit, unsigned parking lot. Noise from foot traffic in the hallway carried into the room quite clearly - thankfully we were near the end of the hallway.

Hotel Mati could not have been better for a few relaxing days at the end of a busy trip to Ancient Greece. I wanted to be close to the airport but away from busy Athens and have a bit of down time before returning home. My room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely balcony and comfortable bed. It had a fabulous view overlooking the pool and the sea. The pool was quite big and certainly big enough for a decent swim and there was also the beach below the hotel veranda. I visited both. The sea was divine. The sitting area around the pool and on the veranda were so comfortable and it was possible to be in full shade or sun. The staff were extremely kind and helpful in every way serving food and drinks or assisting with transport to and from the airport. They suggested nearby places to visit and organised a taxi for me. The area of Mati itself, is a quiet village with one shop and a handful of tavernas. The one opposite the hotel is excellent and I would highly recommend. Through to the other end of the village, there is a beach bar/coffee place which serves food overlooking the sea but that’s about it.

Really nice hotel, great facilities, clean and comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, decent food from the cafe/bar.

Quite a bit of noise from below around the pool/var area until after midnight despite our being on the top floor, would have liked to have had the balcony doors open to hear the sea but not possible. Even more noise from what we think was a family using two rooms near us, and constantly going backwards and forwards between them, slamming doors and talking loudly in the corridor until nearly 2am. This latter was not the hotel’s fault but still resulted in a poor night’s sleep.

Our stay at Hotel Mati on the 5th floor was made even more special by the stunning views. We enjoyed a beautiful panorama of the sea and the hotel's sparkling pool, which was a perfect backdrop for our mornings and evenings.

While our stay was fantastic overall, the beach wasn't quite what we had hoped for. It wasn't the ideal spot for relaxing, as the sand was a bit rough. Thankfully, the hotel's pool, filled with refreshing sea water, more than made up for it.

Mati Hotel is our favourite place to stay and we have been going there for some years now. On our annual trips to Greece. The staff are lovely, friendly and really helpful. The location is great, right on the coast with fantastic views over the bay of Marathon and Evia. It’s quiet and peaceful and there’s a beautiful large swimming pool. The decor is tasteful with some nice antique and art deco pieces. Very handy for the airport and the port of Rafina too, they will arrange taxi transfers for you. Excellent value for money.

Nothing we disliked but a mini fridge in the room would be a bonus.

I was given a more modern and comfortable room than my first stay at this property. Also, the person at the desk was very helpful with a last-minute taxi need. The hotel is located on the sea, with easy access to stick your feet in the water if you have time and the weather cooperates. The pool looks nice, though I didn't get a chance to use it because of a tight schedule.

While technically it is only 20 minutes from the airport, this hotel is a little hard to reach (requires a taxi ride through dark agricultural lands if arriving late - uncomfortable to do as a woman traveling alone). Some taxi services like FreeNow may be hard to use to leave the hotel though they work for arrival from the airport. The hotel staff can arrange something for you, but it does require advanced notice.

We stayed here for one night at the end of a holiday before our flight home. It works really well as a much more pleasant and relaxing alternative to an airport hotel. The terrace over the sea and pool is beautiful - a lovely place to have dinner, and the public areas of the hotel are very comfortable and stylish. Rooms have lovely balconies with either sea or pool views and there are steps down to a small beach for sea swims. The pool looked gorgeous but it is only open for limited hours so we were not able to try it.

Our primary reason for choosing this hotel was the pool so we were disappointed by its limited opening hours (11.30 am to 7.30pm). We arrived just before 8 really looking forward to a swim after a long drive but not really wanting to swim in the sea just before a flight. I think it would be helpful if guests were alerted to this in advance.
