When it comes to travel, finding the perfect accommodation can truly elevate the entire experience. During my recent visit to Dubrovnik, I had the pleasure of staying at the remarkable Guest House Nikolina, and I can't wait to share my glowing review of this hidden gem in the heart of the city. Location: First and foremost, the location of Guest House Nikolina is absolutely stellar. Nestled in the middle of everything, this charming guest house offers unparalleled convenience for exploring Dubrovnik. Whether you're interested in the historic Old Town, the vibrant New Town, or the picturesque beaches, it's all within easy reach. With a short bus ride or a leisurely 15-minute walk in either direction, you can access the best attractions this stunning city has to offer. Hospitality: One of the standout aspects of Guest House Nikolina is the exceptional hospitality provided by the hosts. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by Nikolina, the landlady. Her warm and friendly reception made us feel right at home. To top it off, she surprised us with a refreshing cold drink and delicious ice cream, which was a much-needed treat in the scorching Dubrovnik heat. Nikolina's attentiveness and cheerful demeanor truly set the tone for a fantastic stay. Facilities and Views: The facilities at Guest House Nikolina are top-notch. The outdoor area, in particular, offers breathtaking views of the sea and the town below. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a relaxing evening, the backdrop of Dubrovnik's beauty is always present. The well-maintained facilities only enhance the overall experience, making this guest house an excellent choice for your stay. Stairs and Parking: Yes, Dubrovnik is famous for its stairs, and while there are stairs to nearly every attraction, Guest House Nikolina does offer a parking spot at the rear, which is a welcome convenience.

Couldn't fault the hotel.

The reception from Nikolina the landlady was brilliant. I've never felt more welcomed. But it didn't stop there, Nikolina was amazingly helpful and cheerful. The facilities and outdoor area were excellent. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Guest House Nikolina is situated in the hills of Montovjerna, 142 steps from the street Uliča Iva Vojnovića. There are three ways up but no one with car, either from Uliča Iva Vojnovića, one staircase from the Pharmacy and one, Dubska Uliča. The third is from above, that is Dubska Uliča from the street Uliča of Montovjerne. The first staircase is the easier, it ends at the Guest House Nikolina. Our taxi driver stopped above and we took the stairs down, in the dark it is very difficult to find from that direction, the Guest House Nikolina sign isn't visible from that way. Maybe a new sign in the stair crossing? The house is newly renovated to a high standard. It has a large patio upstairs with a magnificent view over the city. There are a lot of tables and chairs. Very nice indeed. The rooms are double rooms and larger. Some with a balcony and some without. Our room was a penthouse with a nice bathroom, a bedroom with good beds. In the bedroom there is a flat screen, a waterboiler, a fridge and a closet. The owner is a very nice couple, they are doing absolutely their best for the guest to feel welcomed and that their stay should be as good as possible. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming. There are a lot of cafe's and restaurants in the neighborhood to get breakfast, lunch and dinner if you like. We discovered that the breakfast is cheaper in Grad (the old town) than in the surroundings. The city offers historical, cultural and culinary experiences and great nature with great botanical diversity. Things to see is Grad (it takes several days to experience all the buildings, alleys, museums, shops churches, restaurants and much more. The island Lokrum with historical buildings, animals, caves, sun and bath botanical garden and much more. The mountain Srd, hike up or down or take the cable car. A lot of memory's from several wars and magnificent views in all directions.

We misunderstood the pictures of our room, thought it was with a balcony, it wasn't and therefore it felt a little too small for a visit for 7 days. I would have had the opportunity to make breakfast of my own. In our room, if the weather is bad there is no place to fix breakfast and no equipment for it either. The WiFi is not that fast.

The guest house was lovely and clean and not too far from the old town. Around 2km walk. There is a great outside area with chairs and tables so you can sit out and enjoy the views. As others have said the owners are incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble, even when a friend lost her door key (we did find it!) The stay was made extra special because we were there for the Du Motion half marathon and the weather was fantastic. I’d never been to Dubrovnik before and didn’t realise how stunning it was. We packed a lot into our 3 days and it was getting super tourist busy so I wouldn’t visit any later than April/May.

There were a lot of steps! To the guest house. On our last day there was a fire inspection and we had to vacate our rooms by 8:30am. We were only informed the night before when coming back from dinner. The owner was very apologetic about this and our bags were kept in their apartment and we had coffee with them too!

The host for Guest House Nikolina was fantastic. We booked late but on arrival we had a lovely friendly welcome and even decided to extend our stay at short notice by one extra night and luckily they had availability and sorted this for us. The location is fab, central to old and new town. Old town is a pleasant 20 min walk. There are steps to access this accommodation, so would be difficult if you had mobility issues. Room was clean tidy and well presented. We had a room with no balcony but there is a shared balcony/terrace area which we used one evening to have a drink before bed after we had been out and had the whole area to ourselves.

Nikolina and Stijepo are the most amazing hosts and loveliest people we met in Croatia! They welcomed us with ice cream and drinks on arrival (such a treat!) as we were early to our room which needed it's final touches. The room was great and had everything we needed. It was clean and an amazing view out to the ocean from the balcony. Great spot very central so just a short bus ride to either old town or new town. Would highly recommend this place if not just to experience the amazing hospitality from these great people. Thank you again you two and sorry for the late review and we will be back one day! 🤩❤️

• Location - in the middle between Old Town and Lapad. Bus stop is 5 mins walk. Bellevue beach within 10 mins reach. Restaurants, bakery, small supermarket nearby. • Room amenities - Aircon worked great, there was always hot water. Stunning balcony view. Only suggestion for improvement is to add a small wardrobe or drawer for clothes. • Communication with the host - Nikolina provided helpful info during stay and always responded quickly.

Friendly staff, got collected from airport and shown around a little on Trip, very helpful. Was very clean, communal outdoor seating area was lovely place to sit and have drink before heading out with great views. Location was very good between new town and old town, also close to the port. Steps were tough but seems to be the same everywhere in craotia.

Would prefer a room with a balcony, if staying again would book one. Towels weren't changed, we stayed for 4 nights, although we never requested so could be on us.

The hosts are super friendly and willing to help out with any small requests. I even got some ice cream when I arrived and a map of Dubrovnik together with an explanation of all the best attractions. The place is exceptionally clean - to the point you could eat from the floor. In that regard, it's the best I've seen so far! The view from the patio is a beautiful city panorama. Climate control is exceptionally quiet and powerful - the room gets cold in a few minutes, and you can barely hear it. No problem at all to sleep with the AC on. I had a superb time staying here!

The property is only accessible via a walkway made of stairs, so be prepared to carry your luggage a good few floors up. Also, the room is a bit small and has no wardrobe/locker, so it is hard to avoid a mess of having the suitcases open on the floor all the time.

Excellent apartment - we took the sea view with balcony - it was worth it .. amazing host - very helpful and friendly .. nice terrace for siting or just strolling around .. good value for money! would highly recommend ..

Of course - steps especially for people with medical conditions.. but there is a way out by taking taxi to Dubsca Ul 8 as suggested by the organisers.. and taking the steps down .. we did it all the time during our stay and it worked !
