Prime location on the beach and also near eateries. Nice pool and a shaded deck area with a great view of the ocean. The room was large and very clean. Comfortable King bed. The bathroom was also very clean, and soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided. The room had a coffee maker which we didn't use - excellent coffee and tea are provided in the lobby. Great value for money. The staff were very nice.

No drinks allowed on the pool deck. Room supplies, fresh towels and linen change are only upon request. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel (which is more in the style of a motel) could use some modernization and/or upgrading of amenities. But then it would surely be more expensive and for us this is really a minor point. Although we paid upfront through booking.com, the hotel tacked on a $1.08 charge which was the tax on the resort fee. This appears to be booking.com's problem because the hotel told us they've tried more than once to inform booking.com of this charge. Obviously not a big concern, but just wanted others to know about it.

I loved the location on the beach and walk-ability to several restaurants. The facility is small enough that you don't have to wait in lines and it's easy to get things from your room down to the beach. We enjoyed getting coffee from the lobby and sitting on the boardwalk with it before heading to the sand for the day. Bed was cozy. The facility is pet friendly and family friendly. Not luxury accommodations by any means but it's a great place to stay for a good price. Remember that it's a hotel, not a condo

The AC unit in the room was very loud. I didn't sleep well the first night but trained my brain to think of it as white noise the rest of the stay.

I am just in love with the Buccaneer. This place is wonderful for family, can fit into a budget, and is walking distance from anything you would need. The small island feel of Saint George island is something that keeps me coming back multiple times a year. The Buccaneer is old but it has been redone pretty well. Yes I think they could purchase some new beds that would be more comfortable, and I wish there were more kitchenettes available. However, it's beachfront with pool and it's walking distance from the park and basketball court, the lighthouse, restaurants, ice cream, stores for souvenirs. It's just wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.

I could really handle there being a broom and dustpan in every room, we had to go to the front desk to ask to borrow it. They also do not come in your room and sweep or change the trash so we had to take our own trash out. We have spent four days or a week there are multiple times and this part is really inconvenient. It would be really nice if someone would come in and sweep the room everyday because we are beachfront and there is going to be sand, and if somebody were to take the trash out and take out the dirty towels and provide clean towels. Otherwise, it's very worth the cost and the experience is high level.

Great location and love the pool! Easy access to the beach and decent rooms.

The rooms could use some updating with furniture. Rooms could be slightly cleaner. There were super loud occurrences with our stay.. several nights we had people knocking on our door at random times.. our last night we had several startling noises outside our door that seemed to sound like someone throwing a chair against the wall. Such weird noises. Other than that, it was a great convenient stay!

I loved the location the most, it had a great view. The pool was fun a little crowded but everybody seemed nice. I will say the outdoor shower didn’t work the first day we got there, but the next time we went the next day it was fixed so props for that the buccaneer and does not have room service at the time of this post, but it was fairly easy to get what we needed, towels, ice, coffee, etc. overall, it was a pleasant experience.

 there were only a couple of things I wasn’t exactly pleased with, small things like the HDMI cord on the TV in our room would not let us connect to my external devices. The parking wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t exactly easy either because of how close the spaces are on the opposite sides. And while they explained to me that there was no room service available right now, it still wasn’t exactly convenient to go all the way to the lobby for my towels.

The location on the wonderful beach was exactly right for us: we were so happy to have sun a view from our room and a quick few steps to the beach and such a great place to walk !

We were thinking you. Might like to check how slowly to the toilet flushes: seems to take along time and a lot of water. And the faucet on the sink is hard to completely turn off.. it wants to drip. The little fridge is missing the racks on the door which would have made it better to use.

We liked that it was on the beach and the staff, especially the manager was absolutely the best! The motel had a place to purchase ice for our cooler and price was reasonable.

The motel and rooms are seriously outdated. We were unable to get any TV channels of the very small flat screen. Very small back bathroom was the size of an RV bath. The doors between rooms was very thin and we could hear the people next door snoring very loud. We bought some ear plugs at a Dollar General store. Our beds were very noising when we shifted sleeping position. It may have been the old plywood supporting the mattress.

The location is perfect--in the center of St. George Island. Restaurants, bars, stores all within walking distance. Plus the beach access and view from the deck is superb. The pool is in an ideal location.

Smokers out on the deck area. Couldn't get away from them as they sat under the awning and smoke blew toward us almost everytime we went out there.

Right on the beach. Long walks on the beach either direction. Very beautiful. Clean pool. Coffee right across the road. This is not a highly commercialized area, which I love. Not a lot of people on the beach. Loved that too! This island is miles off the coast connected by a bridge. There’s a beautiful park at the end where the stars are amazing at night!!! If you want to get away, go to St George Island. There are many VRBO’s on this island. The end opposite the park is a private subdivision.

It was right on the beach. Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful sunrises every morning in sunsets every night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

The toilets are very low in the regular rooms and in the handicapped room there's no where to hang your clothes, so you have to choose between hanging your clothes or having a handicapped bathroom.
