You stay at this place to join the turtle watching tours in the evening or at dawn. While we were visiting outside the peak season we were lucky to have a sighting the evening we were there. Even better the next morning we walked to the magnificent adjacent beach and were lucky to see a baby turtle manage to walk from its hatching site to the sea, together with a couple of curious ghost crabs. This was the highlight of our two weeks in Oman. The museum on the first floor is well done and worth a visit. Food for breakfast and dinner, as was the case everywhere else we stayed, was excellent. Staff friendly and obliging, also excellent guide for the turtle watch.
Room rather basic and expensive, but as I said you go there for the turtles. Turtle viewing is free for residents.

The eco tents were very comfortable and air conditioned. Breakfast is included. The highlight is of course the turtles! As a guest you participate in the evening excursion at 20h30 and the morning excursion at 05h50. We saw four turtles in the evening and one turtle in the morning. Amazing to witness them nesting. The guides were very imformative.
There were two groups with a total of 30 people and it was out of season! It would be beneficial for both turtles and tourists to enjoy this fantastic experience in far smaller and more controlled groups. We did not actually se them laying as they had either already laid all their eggs or abandoned their mission from being too tired and out of water too long.

The Luxury Eco tents were very nice! Well set up with everything you need. The AC worked amazingly well. The restaurant was good, the night chef was amazing and help me navigate my food allergies so I could eat.
The wifi didn’t work well in the Luxury Eco Tents so I had to keep driving down to the main building.

the food was very good, the facility blends perfectly with the environment and the staff is very welcoming and polite. the turtle reserve tour and the turtle watching was a wonderful experience even if it can be better organizes especially for in house hotel guests.
the in-take of external tours for turtle watchin is too high. even if there is preference for the hotel guests, the hotel should not allow each day such a high intake of external tour as it creates too much confusion during the tour. also per group at least 2 guides should be provided in order to keep the visit quiter and contain visitors that do not respect the environment and the other guests during turtle watching. Many people were loud and barred other client from the turtle viewing notwthistanding the indications and instruction of the guide

This place is the best one in case you want to have an organized excursion to see Turtles, their nests, and wild nature. We appreciate that the guides and guests were respectful of turtles.
Double think if you wanna show your children how little turtles come out of nests and try to get into the sea. You see real life. Birds are evil. You have a strong wish to defeat turtles. But, please, double think if you want to show this to your kids at 5am. There is no window in your room. This building was not supposed to be a hotel, that was scientific center.

An exclusive setting to view the lovely landscape and coastline. Obviously, its situation near the famous beach where the greenback turtles come to nest and lay their eggs, is exceptional, and a wonderful way to embrace nature in its purist form.
Quite basic, but good, food for the resort. However, when walking nearby in the natural surroundings, and on the famous beach, their justification of being an “eco-resort” is somewhat pushed aside due to the relatively elevated amount of plastic waste that is found either amongst the rocks, or on the shoreline. They will have to become more strict as to their own way of managing their immediate environment, and the nesting beach.

We have stayed one night at Ras Al Jinz. Correct hotel at the end of the road. We cannot go further. We had a family room with neverseen double bunker beds. Thanks to our stay at the hotel, we were able to go to the 2 turtle sessions at 9PM (a bit crowded) and 5AM. The hotel is very pricy but it is worth it to be first in line for the turtle session. There is a restaurant in the hotel but seems very expensive compared to Oman' standards.

The reserve is located 1km walk from the turtles. Just go there for thurtles only! Evening 20.30 and morbing 5.00 excursons included in the price. Tours are nice, as far as vissiting protected turtles can be. Always a doubt wether its ok to disturb the turtles. They didnt seem to bother. Guide managed the group arround the turtles. They managed as good as they could. Rooms were spacious and comfey.
Dinner buffet 10omr a bit pricey, average quality and hard to find on the website. Though less in price than some reviews suggested. Your not in a 5* hotel but in a reserve. Dont expect too much.

A great stay to see the turtles. Worth staying at the property to get the morning tour - less crowded and more to see as you have sunlight! The eco tent is quite basic but it’s comfortable and clean. It has the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. It can get very windy up there though so it was quite noisy during the night. Either way, you’re not going to get a great night’s sleep because you have to get up early for the morning tour!
The evening turtle tour allows outside guests and we had a few unruly guests - loud, using flash photography with no regard to the turtles or having no regard for other guests. It would have been best if the tour guides enforced the rules more such as no talking, no flash photography etc. so the turtles are left in peace and everyone can have a good tour .

The sea turtle tour both in the evening and morning are free for hotel guests. I really really really recommend to take the morning tour. I joined the evening tour together with 100+ people staying in the hotel or surrounding area. It was dark and hence, because it was crowded and dark, difficult to make pictures. Moreover, lots of small children on the evening tour and both the crying children and some flashes (although it was forbidden to flash) disturbed the turtles. In the morning, we were with 11 people, only adults and it was light. I saw so many turtles and had plenty of possibilities to make good pictures. On both tours I saw multiple turtles, a turtle laying eggs and a baby turtle. Besides of the turtles, there is not much to do here. Hence, would really recommend to stay for one night. I stayed in the room (not tent) and it was basic, but OK. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. I'm only not sure about the coffee.
The room is quite simple. Compared to other locations I stayed in Oman, I would might have expected a bit more luxury based on the price. I arrived around 7.45 PM. It was already dark outside and the last 20 minutes, the road is completely dark. Better to arrive during the day. The evening turtle tour I would avoid or at least make sure that you join the morning tour as it is way more interesting.
