We had a very pleasant stay at the Delfin with our two small children. The highlight was the pool, which we used everyday. Breakfast was included and a great start for the day. (Regular options of eggs & beans, pancakes with sirup or toasts with jam). Our room had two large beds, private bathroom, AC and a ventilator which was very helpful as the weather is very humid and hot, even at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions about what to do in Livingston and how to get there and even organized the pick up directly from the Hotel’s dock.

Wifi was not available in all parts of the hotel, the best connection was close to the reception.

The best reason for staying here is the manager, Giovanni. He is a bilingual jewel. Great with arranging trips up the Rio Dulce but even more describing the history of the area.

The only minor complaint is that we booked through Booking.com but were then informed that we could only pay in cash or use Paypal. Since we couldn't get Paypal to work we had to find ATM's that had enough money in them to pay. For such a wonderful place to stay - especiallly given Giovanni's management - having the ability to pay with a charge card would be an improvement.

Giovanni provided great service.a d e an walked us to a restaurant we wanted to go to. The hotel walls are nicely decorated to reflect t the Caribbean and the Garifuna culture.

The WiFi didn't reach our room.

This property is a very nice time capsule from at least the 1960’s. The initial appearance from the water is not so good, but it is no worse than any of the other places in town. But once you step inside, you will notice that the hotel is very clean and well taken care of. The hosts were all very helpful to our needs and requests. The next time I am in Livingston, I would definitely stay at Posada El Delfín!

The only negative was the look of the exterior from the water side.
