The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The views from the breakfast and dining areas were beautiful. There was an easy way straight down to the promenade for lovely walks close to the sea.

We found the car parking lacking . When it eased off in the week, the parking spaces were inadequate for many cars and we found enormous cars abutting our car. Half the dishes( all beautifully cooked) and all the specials contained celery, a very common allergen ( second after nuts) thus reducing my choice of dishes considerably. The celery was in the stock , presumably a preparation bought in. There are stock sources available which state on the wrapping no allergens.

Amazing location, perched high above the beach with a panoramic views over stunning Swanage Bay. The staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My mother had a wonderful massage at the spa. A 10-15 minute stroll into town . I will definitely return to this hotel as it is good value. Loads to see and do nearby Durlestone, Corfe Castle ( wear good walking shoes) and even an evening at the tiny Rex Cinema in Wareham

There is very little parking, so be prepared to unpack your bags, hastily by the side of the hotel and drive elsewhere to find a parking spot. This wasn’t a problem for us, as we stayed in November, so there was plenty of parking on the street nearby, but I can imagine it would be an issue in the summer. A few more sofas rather than formal seating in the bar would be cosier. Lots (60-70) of steep steps down to the beach would be a challenge for the less able.

The view from the hotel is exceptional. The fact you can walk down to the beach is a great bonus. The twin room was a good size, very clean and comfy. Very understated decoration, reasonable selection of tea/coffee in the room. Staff were all very lovely and helpful. Evening meal in the restaurant was good. Bar drinks not too expensive for a hotel.

Parking is a nightmare. Hotel has lost some of its character over the years. 1st came many years ago as a kid & have visited a few times since. Not all the changes are necessarily for the better. Breakfast was so so, somehow not satisfying. Main issue - and not the hotel's fault - is lack of staff.

Modern room, excellent power shower, comfy single bed, great location with stunning views of Swanage Bay from the breakfast room, bar and restaurant. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast and dinner. Old-school charm and vibe of the hotel.

Parking is always a challenge. There is space for about 9 cars so getting a spot is a challenge as the hotel also has a gym and spa which non guests can use, adding pressure to finding a spot. Not an issue for me as I like walking and there is street parking close by as well as a long stay car park 8 minutes walk away, but some elderly guests were anxious about it.

Room was with balcony and sea view, that did not disappoint. Did not have breakfast. Informed by receptionist if we had booked directly they would have included breakfast for the same price as booking.com. did not feel this was appropriate when checking in although very pleasant . All staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

When viewing gym/sauna facilities I asked if I could look around, which I was told yes, it would have been a nicer experience if I had been shown around as did not actually get to see/find the sauna. Felt uncomfortable about asking again. Not busy at the time I looked.

Great location, steps to the quiet beach, friendly helpful staff, beautiful refurbishment, very good breakfast. Room clean and quiet with lovely views.

I had a lot of luggage because of the folk festival. Although I knew the car park was small and I may have to park elsewhere, there was nowhere to pull my car in to unload/load it and no offer of help with the luggage, nor the offer of a trolley. I was disappointed with this poor service, when other aspects of service were excellent. I feel this issue has just been completely overlooked by the management. The obvious solution would be to make a drop off point for luggage in the car park.

Both reception staff were really friendly and couldnt do enough to help . My single room was really clean , had a partial sea view and was really comfortable. I slept really well . The view from the restaurant was fantastic with views towards both the town and out towards the isle of white and all the public areas were spacious and comfortable. A lovely too short stay , thank you

No vegan sausages available for a friend i was travelling with . We had to ask for extra beans , mushrooms and hash browns in replacement of sausages and eggs. It would have been nice if this was offered as an alternative

The Grand hotel is in a fantastic location with views of the bay and access to the beach . Lovely to be able to swim in the sea followed by a dip in the pool and jacuzzi.

The pool is small and slopes on all sides so not a lot of room for swimming . 2/3 people max . However wasn’t much of an issue while we were there as it wasn’t busy and we swam in the sea for exercise and used the pool to relax .
