We stayed in Rm 29 and will always ask for that room in the future. It was almost like being in an apartment instead of a hotel room. Very clean, spacious and simple yet elegant decor which made it relaxing to come 'home' to at the end of a busy day. Great views out every window. The furniture was comfortable and there were plenty of electrical outlets.

Would have liked a couple of extra hooks in the bathroom. It was ok for one person, but really needed at least two hooks per person......one for towels, and one for clothes so they didn't have to sit on the bathroom floor. Other than that, it's hard to find anything to complain about to be honest.

I have no negatives about the hotel but I found out after booking this hotel through booking.com, that I was charged approximately $80 more than the hotel was charging for the room that we got for both nights. I was very upset that booking.com over charged me this amount of money. The hotel manager felt bad about this but could not help me because I went through booking.com. I feel that booking.com should make this right and refund me the amount that I was overcharged. I will not be using booking.com as my first source of reservations .

Location and staff were excellent. Continental breakfast was better than expected with fresh pastries and fruit. Room was very nice and large.

The room could have used a new rug which they were installing downstairs. The only other dislike was the train noise which you will hear no matter where you stay in Spring Lake. This is not a reflection on the hotel. The only other thing is next time I will get a room on a lower floor. We had a beautiful top floor room but had to climb 5 flights of stairs to reach.

We loved the location and the room was comfortable enough after we got moved from original room due to a VERY uncomfortable and squeaky bed

Our original room (9) had a very uncomfortable and saggy in the middle mattress. We spoke to the reception staff and were moved to room 17 which had a better bed and mattress. The female staff at house front were very pleasant but the male member of staff was very off and never smiled or made eye contact. I think he needs some lessons in hospitality as we gave up trying to interact with him. Not normal or great for someone working in the hotel or hospitality business. If not happy in your job then just leave

The hotel is very nice. We stayed. In a room with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. The breakfasts were good, staff very nice. It's located in a very nice neighborhood, and close to the beach.

This wasn't a problem for my husband and I, but my sister-in-law had trouble with the stairs. An elevator would not be right for this hotel. Be aware, and if you can book a room on a lower floor.

The location is great, parking on premises, and the property is lovely and cute. We love the pool in the summer, wifi and tv was great, the view was awesome.

The breakfast can use a lot of improvement, it is mediocre at best. The coffee and tea station is great, the pastry was not fresh, the bagels weren't great. They post a lot of signs thinking of the environment, however everything at the breakfast station is plastic, the cups, the cutlery.

This is a repeat for us....favorite getaway weekend!

Continental breakfast was so-so. Hardly any fresh fruit, and the apples and oranges were old and shriveling...bananas were over-ripe. Hardly any cereal...would prefer "fresh" half-n-half as opposed to the CoffeeMate....

Positives: Location was fab, quiet, room was clean. Bed was comfy. Central A/C worked well and you could adjust easily. Nice ambience as a historical house, four large windows in our room with lovely views of the lake and summer trees. Big plump comfy cushions on the large wraparound porch which offered welcome breezes and viewing the lake.

Negatives: Self serve Breakfast selection for such a fancy boutique hotel was disappointing, although coffee was good. We expected more homemade style original pastries and afternoon snacks since the price per room is on the high side. There was lemon water by the cupfuls at the entrance but no bottled water for free, only in vending machine. Be aware room 23 has a step up into the bathroom. I tripped on the ledge twice and 2nd time scraped my arm on the mirror hung on the door. The cleaning crew was always sitting on the stairs on 2nd floor. Odd.

Jodie was extremely helpful. And Steven, the owner was also informative re: attractions in the area.

We were in a first floor room. No fault to the management, but we were bothered by the guests directly above us one of the three nights. We heard their movements across the floor.
