My room was neat

When I entered there , I made a mistake of putting my bags along the stairs, The gentleman serving me 1.Looked, shouted at me for placing my bags in this area, instead of talking to me well, he appeared very angry, his look made me uncomfortable, he showed HATRED, his look to me was very very bad, that I left hotel and could not sleep there, I reported to the YOUNG GENTLEMAN, that I was leaving to another hotel, the other man serving me was very kind that I even asked for REFUND and it was not refundable. Recently stayed here in room 21 with my partner and felt the need to leave a review as we really did enjoy our stay the manager from day 1 was very welcoming and nice to us and Alison the lady that does breakfasts is a real upbeat nice person and goes out her way to get to know the guests which forms a nice bond when your greeted every morning by her smile and your name which for me was a huge plus note for anyone staying here i would highly recommend the breakfast as it is amazing and blows weatherspoons which is close by out the water and is much better value for money nice thick bacon not your thin stuff and proper sausages and it was also very nice to have a selection of cakes fruit juices cereals yogurts etc and again a big thank you to Alison for going that extra mile. I would also like to personally thank the manager for 1 particular thing that stood out for us and this may be something so simple however had a huge impact and that was simply a bottle of water that he provided for us 1 evening when coming home i was more than happy to pay for a nice cold bottle of water and when i asked if he had any he said yes of course no problem took me to the lounge bar which is also at the property which is a really chilled place and gave me two bottles of ice cold water and said no no its no problem and handed us them which was really nice of him. Location is superb your on the doorstep of the pier however dont be put off by this its just far enough away to not be kept up all night with the ride sounds etc its a perfect distance. We travel regularly to Clacton and have stayed at many hotels and this is by far our favourite stay and we will 100% be coming back for Alison's breakfast and the welcoming of the manager i just wish we got his name 10/10 all areas. Although the room was a little compact, it was well set out, very clean and had everything that was needed including a good amount of storage. The bed was comfortable and the towels were lovely. The en suite was a little small and bit tired, but for what we paid it was very good value and I would stay again and recommend it to others.

Nothing really. It would have been nice to have had a working kitchen to be able to have breakfast there, but it was being refurbished which wasn't a problem as it is so close (walking distance) to the town centre so easy to eat elsewhere.

Friendly caring staff. Always helpful to help and guide me in the right direction when I needed help. Breakfast always greeted with a friendly smile and always welcoming by Alison also Kacper at front desk who greeted me always there to help. Also another Gentleman at front desk very helpful and caring people. Housekeeper to very good always cleaned and did my room everyday. Top people and Top Hotel. Also it so close to the Piere and walking distance to main attraction. Nice walk also near shop's. Langtry Hotel I will be back .Thank you all for making my 6 day Hoilday the Best .😍😘

The friendly staff helpful and cheerful. Very good location only a few minutes walk to to beach and pier. Parking space saved for us when we arrived. Considering this is a budget hotel we got a lovely comfortable room with everything you need for your stay. Would definitely stay again when visiting Clacton fantastic atmosphere every where we went. Seagulls in the early hours of the morning. ...so annoying!!! Will definitely take ear plugs next time we go.

Bed linen and towels clean, shower was good always hot. Breakfast menu excellent. Alison the cook was brilliant, always smiling even when busy. They also had a lift which was good as I had my brother with me who was disabled.

I think rooms could do with redecorating. Also shower gel and shampoo were only put out on first day and day before you left. I would say this is 2 and half star hotel. Overall as I have never been to Clacton before and didn't know what to expect. The hotel was okay. I won't be visiting Clacton again. We also visited Colchester, Walton on the Naze and Frinton on Sea which Alison suggested to us, which we enjoyed. I think the hotel should have some leaflets at the desk with places of interest to visit. Didnt take any pictures of room. Bathroom was small, wash basin in bedroom. However I think rooms vary as brother's bedroom the toilet, shower and basin were in same room.

Room was clean, and fairly large. The location of the hotel is excellent, less than a minute's walk to the pier and beach and a couple of minutes to the town centre. Value for money is unparalleled, especially given the perfect location. The adjoining restaurant is of exemplary quality, and could easily grace a far more expensive hotel.

Decor is slightly outdated, and room could have used a little maintenance to bring it up to higher level. Floorboards throughout creak loudly whenever anyone walks on them.

This is an old and very well established English hotel. As such it is not as modern as a Premier Inn and the floors squeak a bit, but it was perfect for me as a solo traveller. And, being just yards from the central attractions of Clacton, it is ideal for families too. My en-suite room was stylishly decorated and very well lit. Most hotels usually light their rooms functionally, which in the evenings they can look cold and grim. But as well as the functional ceiling light, mine had two bedside lamps which created a lovely atmosphere at night. The room was secure and warm enough at night that I was able to sleep on top of the very comfortable bed rather than in it. The room had everything needed. There was a good quality wall mounted TV, a kettle (essential for very early risers like me) and a wall mounted iron and board. The WiFi worked very well and the modern day traveller is catered for by wall plugs with USB ports in them, the first time I have seen such an enhancement outside of a Premier Inn. Well done whoever thought of that. One can book rooms here without breakfast, but one would be a fool to scrimp on the £5.00 supplement the meal costs. I doubt one would get a better breakfast anywhere in the town for that price - and as well cooked. And there was plenty of it too. I did a long walk in bright sunshine on my first day and that meal kept me going until 4 in the afternoon. Well done to Alison, the wonderful lady who provides such an excellent breakfast service. As mentioned, location wise, the hotel is just yards from the pier and the beach. There is a large Weatherspoons seconds away for evening meals and other eateries are close by. Ask Alison for reccomendations. As someone who does a lot of solo travelling round the UK, I have to say I am very impressed with the Langtry. Friendly service, value for money and close to the centre of everything - one really cannot ask for more. I look forward to staying there again.

There wasn't anything I did not like about the Langtry . I suppose I would say perhaps freshen up some of the decor in some places, but then, the Langtry is like every other hotel in the country, still reeling from the effects of the pandemic, so I am sure they will get round to it. I'd also perhaps suggest that having Gideons Bibles in bedside tables is a bit old hat these days. I'd be more inclined just to have a card on the table listing local places of worship and reflection. But like I say, I take nothing away from the fact that I thought this was an ideal place for me to stay.

Situated right near the sea front and a Weatherspoons nearby for breakfast !!! Staff were very helpful and the room was nicer than I was expecting. Price was extremely reasonable. The room was clean and warm enough. I would definitely book again.

The shower wasn't the best, but I thought it was great not to have to share a bathroom in what is,a budget hotel. Not much to complain about at all really.
