The Hidden Valley Inn is our new favorite place to stay in the Carmel area. It's tucked down the hill from Carmel Valley village in a quiet location. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. The bed was particularly comfy. For pet owners, the setup is perfect because the dog friendly rooms are bottom-floor with easy access to outside in the quietest part of the property (so no coming and going of cars to disturb the pup). Closet in the room was also spacious and the common areas (pool and games) looked lovely. From the inn, you are close enough to town that you could walk (though I wouldn't because of the hill and traffic).
No complaints. The hidden valley inn exceeded our expectations (and we've stayed in 20+ different little inns around the Carmel area).

It’s a perfect location for travel to big sur, Carmel-by-the-sea and Monterey. You get these delicious bakery in the morning. The staff is very friendly. We liaised with Liana and she was lovely.
The old room didn’t have a great shower. I prefer open showers. It was small and old but we were told that this was going to be renewed and Liana kindly showed us other rooms which had new showers and they were good but didn’t have the view we had. The property doesn’t have much to do but it’s a perfect stay if your purpose is mostly to travel around.

Note: I have no connection to this place and I was not paid or given any special service for this review. This place surprised me with how nice it is. The price was incredibly good. I wanted to get away for the night and do some work away from the stress of the silicon valley. Everything is 500 or 600 bucks a night. I like bernardus but it's gone through the roof cost wise, and I'm on a budget. So I gave this place a whirl, and I'm thoroughly impressed. From the quietness of the location away from the main road and the beautiful view, The place has a lot of charm and has been recently remodeled and is well done. I mean there's some old stuff Left behind that needs work but I'm not going to pick apart something that has so much going for it. I'm going to come back to this place. But I think the price is going to go up because this place is going to get popular. It's a hidden gem and it's a hidden valley gem 😉. The pastries in the morning were awesome. Coffee's always flowing and good. The staff are wonderful, helpful, and friendly. and the housekeeping crew keeps everything spic and span. I have nothing to complain about. And Carmel valley is just the most peaceful and amazing place. It's probably my favorite place and this place takes advantage of the atmosphere and beauty of Carmel valley and accentuates it at a very good price, so I recommend it wholeheartedly.
I didn't not like anything. I liked everything. I know it's a double negative. I'm having fun. This place makes me happy. I feel so well rested

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, tucked away in its own peaceful valley but still very close to a charming little town. The location is perfect for a quiet escape. The beds were very comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were spotless. We loved the pool area, where you could relax and even enjoy some fun social games. The whole atmosphere was serene, making it the perfect place to unwind. Breakfast pastries were an appreciated treat! For the price I paid, it was quite affordable, and the staff were always friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.
I wish there were some savory options for breakfast, as well as an espresso machine. It would have been amazing if there was a hot tub to relax in the evening.

Hidden Valley Inn is beautiful and welcoming. Our room was on the small side but comfortable, with a good mini fridge and a high-quality TV, and a table and chairs on the patio. Great pool. Great towels, and pool towels are also supplied. This place is really feel-good! Free (large) breakfast pastries! The two village restaurants we tried were good enough. Excellent location for Big Sur and Pfeiffer Beach. If we're ever in the area again, this is where we'll go for sure.
We would have preferred 100% cotton sheets. The shower temperature can fluctuate.

I really loved this place. Comfy rooms, clean (the bath rooms need a bit of TLC but are still clean). Pool and pool area was great. Right in the valley and walking distance to wine tasting, restaurants and small food shops. Really calm and relaxing and stress free stay. Reception is only open until 5, but there is clear instructions what to do if you need someone (we didn't). Rooms aren't cleaned everyday unless you request it, which is made to clear to you (and suited us). It was a lovely place to come back to
Nothing.

Beautiful little Inn nestled in the hills. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I stayed in the king room with a garden view and had a lovely little patio to sit in the morning and drink coffee. The beds were brand new and comfortable. They provided coffee and croissants in the morning that were delicious. The front desk shared lots of things to do in the area and was very responsive. The front desk is only open until 5pm but they have a way for you to get your room key after hours if needed.
Nothing!

The room was lovely with a spectacular patio view of the mountain, the staff was naturally friendly, the morning pastries were worth the cost of staying lol, so delicious and complimentary on-site. It was a perfect one-night stay, excellent location as we were able to walk to Cafe Rustica for dinner. The only things the room could use were: 1) full length mirror 2)mini fridge (for a longer stay) and if the property had a hot tub it would be 11/10 stars. My husband and I are not fussy but like clean comforts and this place is a new favorite spot for us.
The rooms could use: 1) full length mirror in room and 2) a mini fridge (for a multi-night stay). The property has a lovely slightly heated pool but a hot tub would make this place exceptional.

Check in was super easy, just a phone call ahead and a key was left with instructions due to my late check in time. Room was super cute, clean, great AC (important because it was very hot). Staff was AMAZING, very helpful and very nice!! Would definitely stay here again.
Room had no table/surface to work on, so when I needed to use my laptop for work, I had to do it in bed. A small table to use as work surface would have been great. Even a small folding table would have worked.

The room was well presented and comfortable, with access to a patio area, pool and wider shared social space. There was a welcoming, relaxed and friendly vibe at the accommodation, led by the staff on front desk who were fantastic - they were particularly helpful with how we could get the best out of our trip. The pastries and coffee at reception were a lovely touch, greatly appreciated by us! The accommodation is also a good base to explore Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel-by-sea AND the nearby town (nearby actually gave us the best meal of our trip!)
There was nothing we didn't like, but travellers should note it's c. 20 - 25mins to Carmel / Monterey. The drive is easy enough though.
