This property is located in a pretty isolated part of the island - near the southern tip of the island and the furthest southern point of the United States. We have stayed here twice in the last few years. The property is very clean, modern and well maintained and we enjoyed using the outdoor pool, hot tub. It is only a half mile of the famous Black Sand Beach and its many sea turtles and only a 30 minute drive to the visitor center at Volcanoes National Park. As an amateur astronomer I especially appreciated the dark skies and viewing celestial wonders that can't be seen from my home in Michigan.

The property is rather isolated. Some folks will miss ammenities like restaurants and night life right outside their door but if you are more into nature (like my family is) this might be a great fit.

The location is between Hilo & Kona. Hawaii Belt Road is a beautiful Drive from either location. Upon arrival I was so impressed with the ocean and mountain views. The condo sit on a old golf course and you can walk the fairway and I found little trail to the beach below the unit. Wow. Perfect get away. Wonderful Pool and Lava Rock Jacuzzi Wow. There is a little bakery with some food service and great sweet treats about 8 miles away, but its suggest to bring in food. I had plenty and so enjoy this location.

The only thing I didn't like was I had to leave and come back to Oahu. Big Island is calm, spread out and was like going back in time. You must do your own house keeping, but it was pleasure to keep it neat. Loved the condo. It had everything I need. I cooked several good meals. Nice dishes and pots and pans. Even baking stuff...

I cannot say enough about this resort and how amazing it is. Photos do not show how incredible it actually is. Our cottage #10 was so amazing. The view, so gorgeous. Pool and jacuzzi also amazing. So quiet. And at night, so many stars. Also it is close to the magical Magic Sand beach where you can see a lot of turtles. Staff in the resort is super friendly. We only stayed one night there because we were on a road trip, and we regret we couldn't stay longer. I highly recommend this resort and I can only hope we will come back again.

Not a minus nor it is a big deal, but I would rather have liquid shower gel and shampoo instead of a soap bar.

We liked everything about this stay. The location is excellent - at the most southern point of the Big Hawaii island (US intrinsically), close to the black sand beach, green sand beack and within reasonable driving distance from the National Volcano Park (for a longer stay). The accommodation is excellent - the room is actually two leveled, with direct access to patio via a double glass door. There is a kitchenette including all necessary appliances (highlights dishwasher, very big fridge etc), a bathroom with washer/drier. In general all the fine details needed for a stay. Extremely clean. Comfy beds. Easy access to the pool and hot tub. Easy walking access to the black sand beach. Very nice and helpful reception desk - thank you, Roshelle :)

What is not to like? We loved everything.

What a lovely location on the quieter side of Big Island!! All we heard most of the was the ocean waves, birds and the wind blowing gently. No planes, boats and hardly a car went by. Very beautiful ocean views, lovely balcony in our condo, all we could need in the condo to prepare meals. We will definitely consider staying here again and have recommended it to family members.

Great hidden spot, the condo was very well kept and charming. It's great to know they have full kitchens. There is a pool and Jacuzzi on the grounds as well. The only thing they were not able to accommodate was a late checkout, but we did book very last minute.

Would have paid a little more for a late checkout since we were staying on that side of the island for the Kau trail run, it would have been nice to shower in the room after. They did allow us to use the shower at the pool area and enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi after checkout though.

Fully equipped kitchen, staff were all great and very responsive. Room was clean and the location quiet--away from all tourist related impacts. View was very nice. The property is older but upkeep good. The few issues were responded to immediately and fixed. The pool is small but adequate for kid romping. The hot tub was available if desired. BBQs were spotless. The defunct golf course is mowed so it doesn't appear to be abandoned and the Nene like it. The nearby black sand beach with turtles is fun to visit. Visitors should know that there are no stores or restaurants near the property and all food supplies must be brought in. The nearest grocery store is 30 miles away. Not a bad thing but important to know. Bring your own shampoo as well. Located about halfway between Hilo and Kona. The black sand beach is a 10 minute walk from the property.

There could be one more BBQ, wait times for the grill can be long especially if a user has a big meal or does not offer to share space. Check the window screens when you arrive. The mosquitos are not bad but pesky if the screens are not correctly in place. The units are 2 story and noise from the upper unit can be a problem in the lower unit. This happened to us and management quickly reminded the upstairs noisy neighbors and the problems resolved.

Great place near black sand beach. Remote, with no large grocery stores nearby, but plenty of turtles close by. Great hiking trails a short drive away.

No tennis courts as listed; no golf course either. They’re both defunct after 2018. Got placed in an outer unit without a view. Most units seem to have a great ocean view.

Pool is nice.

Hot tub is a little too cold. Please heat it to 102F. The Golf course that the units overlook has been abandoned since COVID, and is no longer a functioning Golf course: the Greens are no longer maintained. and brush is starting to take over. However is not owned/managed by Sea Mountain, so the Resort is not at fault. But they could choose to maintain it a bot: it would look better of at least the fairways were mowed once every 6 weeks.

The instructions for an 'after hour check-in' were clear and easy to follow. That went smoothly! The property is well maintained, clean and beautiful. Overall it is quiet, peaceful and very safe. Free parking is available just in front of your unit. The apartment is unbelievable clean and well organized. It's spacious and has a lot of amenities like a washing machine and dryer. I really loved it!

When you check in after the office hours, you have to return the next day to prevent a deactivation of your room key and an additional fee. This was very, very inconvenient. We had a busy travel schedule and we had to drive back in the middle of the day to get back on time. That was annoying. The same goes for the check-out: it's also only during the office hours but we had a flight early in the morning so that was not possible for us. I think there is some room for improvement :) The 'open' concept of the building (for natural ventilation) is not ideal when you enjoy a silent evening. Even though our neighbors were quiet, we could still hear their TV, their voices and all their activities. I prefer a well insulated apartment.
