A warm welcome. A fantastic "budget" room, just right for me! A nice bed, an ensuite toilet and shower (shower was fab), Kettle on a shelf with tea and coffee etc, a TV on the wall and plenty of electric sockets. A lovely small room, just right for a weekend away to relax, which was what i was looking for! Breakfast in the morning was just right to start my day. Great tip from the host of the local taxi company to use (Starline Taxis) who's App was really useful to get me around the Cheltenham area, with reasonable fares and a great service. I will be returning to Alice Guest House again in the future (already planning for 2025!)

Cute house much much bigger inside. A lovely welcome from owner Karen. Who gave me a set of keys to come and go at will as long as I locked the front door. 2 sets of stairs to room with huge suitcase and once there had space to store it. Room was bijou with 4 poster bed and everything antique, even the duvet cover looked like it was a bedspread by the design. Wall mounted TV, kettle, cups, tea and coffee. I dont like 4 poster beds and antique rooms but it was clean and tidy and the sash window opened for ventilation. The bathroom was on landing 2 steps down, choice of 2. Step in shower with stack of bath mats to take and put in basked once used. The house was quiet and I slept well. Next morning down to breakfast in the back of the house a sun room extension looking into the garden with the residential wooden chalets. I was greeted by the owners cute dachshund puppy and sat down at one of the two big tables. table was set for breakfast with condiments jams and butter. I just wanted toast and coffee which was served in an individual cafetiere, a nice touch and lovely thick crunchy toast.

I did not realise I could not park outside and was worried leaving my car out of site since I have had 2 cars stolen over the years. I also now realise I dont like a room without bathroom and having to creep out of my room in the dark to go to the toilet even tough a light was left on, I was concerned I would not be able to unlock my door again.

The idea of having little huts in the backyard is quite a nice one and I liked having my own space. The location is also great a 15-20minute walk both from the city center and the race course. The host was lovely and allowed me to store my bag before the room was ready as I arrived before the check in time. The breakfast was also nice and freshly cooked. It was possible to choose from a list of options, including different types of eggs, fried beans, toast, etc.

It got a little cold when I was there, but the duvet was enough to keep me warm. The reason I give this an 8, is because the hut was quite damp, which wasn't so comfortable. The shower could be better, but I understand why it was small and electric because of this being a hut.

Very kind, thoughtful welcome. Comfortable bed , very clean ensuite, excellent breakfast! Pleasant garden seating area. Close proximity to beautiful Pittville Park with very good eating facilities in the adjacent park to this. Plenty of small shops and larger supermarkets within walking distance.

My room and location weren't what I expected from the booking description. The worst aspect was that there were no parking facilities on the premises. Adjacent streets close by I was able to find eventually a parking place. It was very stressful finding this after a long journey. I feel this should be mentioned in the booking details.

Great little ensuite chalet in Karen's back garden; the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Karen is very friendly and helpful and I was also greeted by a gorgeous sausage dog puppy! And excellent breakfast was served in the dining room in the house, just a minute away from the chalet.

The chalet was a little too perfumed for me, as I suffer from asthma and struggle with things like air fresheners and strong smelling bed linen that has been washed in some of the popular washing products. But I appreciate that most people don't have my problems and even like the smell, so I wouldn't list it as a complaint.

Lovely little home tucked away on a non descript street very close to Cheltenham town centre. Pretty garden with 2 chalets one of which was mine. So quiet! Very comfy bed and superb shower pressure! Stylish Moroccan themed decor. The owner has another property over there which looks delightful. Breakfast made to order. Milo the little dog was an extra delight! I would stay here again.

All good. (Larger towels and an armchair would have been welcome).

Wooden huts were great. Very helpful hostess, packaged us breakfat the evening before as we expected to have an early start. Location quiet during the night. Very comfortable beds.

Lack of clarity when booking. Not clear that shared bathroom meant rooms in house while the depicted/advertised wooden huts we thought we were getting were the en-suite variation. We were able to upgrade, but would have been able to do more helpful cost comparisons with other offers if the situation had been clear from the start.

Alice rang in the morning to check my arrival time and was waiting for me. She had upgraded me to a double bedded cabin (I’d booked the budget single). The room was warm and cosy with a cool Moroccan vibe. The bed was comfortable and there was an en-suite shower and kitchenette with tea & coffee facilities. A continental breakfast was offered although I didn’t take it up. Thank you Alice.

A few bits of on going maintenance needed to sharpen things up.

I got to Alice guest house, I was amazed with what I saw. I walked down a small lane past some other houses and what I saw was breath taking. The garden was beautiful , the two garden lodges were next to each other. I felt very clam , relaxed and very tranquil. The lodge was very clean and well maintained. I have everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable, I slept very well. The shower had plenty of hot running water and the bathroom was a good size. The outside was lovely , there was a small table with two chairs where you could see the garden in total peace. Karen the host was very helpful and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. The guest house is about 20 minutes walk from the train station, and 5 minutes walk to the hight street with plenty of shops. I loved my stay here and I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was good , however the breakfast room was cold. I had really nice cooked scramble eggs.

When you approach the residence from the street, its a little confusing how a guest house could be located here. But its a nice surprise how it fits into the space. The host was very nice. The bed comfy. Usually shared bathrooms aren't always great but these bathrooms were clean and well maintained - shower was good and easy to use. Parked on Baker Street across from the guest house. Parking spot easy to find and free. Breakfast was decent. WIFI mainly good. 10 minute walk to The Brewery Quarter.

Some de-caff options (in the room) and milk sachets would be useful - But its a minor note, on an overall decent stay. My room was close to boiler, so when boiler on, there is a bit of noise. No fault of owner. Its just the old building setup. Light sleepers should discuss options before booking (but do book).
