The hotel was very handy for The Town Hall, town and beach. Great parking. Food was lovely ,friendly helpful staff. Will definitely stay again. The room was warm and we had the best night sleep in a long time. Lovely atmosphere breakfast was good plenty of choice.

This is a well maintained character hotel. I note that people say it is a little dated. It is a period property so I wouldn't expect it to be ultra modern. That's it's charm. It obviously is kept in good repair and decorated regularly plenty hot water although shower pressure not very good but I guess it depends on what you are used too. Not something that would put me off. Plenty of facilities choice of bar or restaurant games room etc. Door lock not very positive could do with replacing. Otherwise spot on.

Immediately felt comfortable and safe, great parking, nice choice of sitting areas, lounge , bar, beer garden with guest controlled heaters, reception area too. Staff friendly and helpful, spacious room with extra single bed, modern and clean. Great location for access to town yet open vistas to front and rear. Easy access to beach. If fortunate with weather, a very relaxed hotel to spend time outdoors.If not , then still areas within hotel to relax. Very nice golf / whisky memorabilia and pictures throughout.

Didn’t affect our opinion of hotel, but restaurant staff helpful but a bit I inexperienced which affected service a bit. And elderly/ infirm should certainly contact hotel for suitable room as no lift and steep stairs.

Hotel staff were very friendly, free car parking large comfortable room. Hotel close to the beach for a stroll.

Someone tried to get into my room before I checked out on my departure day....didnt even knock. Just put a key in the door around 9.45...10am. I shouted there was someone still in the room. The man acknowledged what i said but no apology and no idea who he was as he did not tell me! Not sure if they forgot the room was occupied but not great when your a female travelling solo! Room fittings and fixtures were a little tired.

Great service, so friendly! The guys attention was limited as they were also distracted by a family birthday party. However they did a great job generally. The guy manning the bar was on his first shift as a new starter; and was very nervous as a result but I'm pretty sure he'll do a stirling job once he gets a bit more experience under his belt

I felt it was expensive for what it was, the menu was quite restricted, and we had to climb three flights of stairs to get to the room. I'd happily pay 99 a night but 143 was too much in my book.

Great location, and wonderful old seaside hotel charm with modern touches. Lovely bar area, the room was very sharp, with a giant flat screen TV, comfortable bed and a cosy feel with a pleasant ensuite. The room was spotlessly clean! First class The breakfast is fabulous! So yummy and lots of it!

Here I am nitpicking some of the corridors felt a bit old, but it’s an old hotel and it’s part of the charm. The shower unit was powerful and hot but was quite loud, but again this was not a big issue, loved my stay.

Super friendly staff - checkin, bar, restaurant! Great food in restaurant even although hotel was quite quiet. Everything we asked for was available, and you could tell it was all fresh.

We were there mid December, mid week, so none of the outside spaces were available. They looked good though, so aiming to head for another stay in warmer weather. A few comments we’d read suggested the hotel was ‘tired’, but think these must have been from been before renovations. Some of which were happening during our stay.

Made to feel very welcome. Shown to our room and shown where bars, restaurant etc are located. Staff are lovely. Room was large and comfortable. Decor and furnishings dated but were in keeping with the hotel building. We had superior room on the ground floor with a door giving direct access to a pretty garden area. Had dinner and breakfast, both were good. Breakfast, no fruit available as per the menu. Dinner and breakfast had good vegetarian and vegan choices. Excellent bar service with lots of choice. Wide variety of draught beers available. Good location for beach, town and Town Hall ( we were attending a gig there)

From arrival we received a warm welcome and introduction to layout as first time visitors. Room was spacious and spotless with tasteful modern decor. Restaurant staff very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and we ate in conservatory which was bright and airy with ambient lighting after sunset. Would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely gardens to rear which we made use of.

Lack of elevator to upper floor but this is a traditional building which I'm sure would be difficult to add. There are ground floor rooms.

Staff excellent and breakfast good. Great room size. Served our needs for the night. The function we went to could not fault the hotel for that.

small bed and stained bed cover. dated decor. broken blinds. Handle on cabinet missing and no light bulb in lamp next to mirror. Light in vanity unit also not working. If stayed more than one night would have asked to move. Room a bit over priced i thought, shame a but more TLC and could have a great hotel.
