It was everything we wanted a resort getaway in Fiji to feel like. Island vibes without needing to travel far with young kids.

We enjoyed the resort and amenities. However the staff at reception were quite unhelpful and we always got conflicting advice when enquiring about late checkouts, payments, getting rooms cleaned etc Information about kids clubs or other activities weren’t promoted or easy to access. We were shangri la circle members and use of that wasn’t promoted either. However the staff around the grounds and cleaners were amazing. What I found odd at a resort at this level is that my Birthday was not acknowledged in anyway upon check in. It didn’t bother me, but for a 5 star resort I feel the level of excellence wasn’t there. Despite the frustrating aspects we were able to focus on the good parts and have an amazing stay. It is a beautiful location!

The Ocean Wing Room on the top floor next to the Reef Wing was great. The Duty Manager Aporosa turned our dreams into reality. Breakfasts at the Lagoon Terrace were lovely. Inflatable Water Park and Guided Kayaking were enjoyable. Many activities can be booked in advance.

The Chi Spa had great facilities, but the facial was not the best there. The quinoa salad was the buckwheat salad and the roti bread was like the Russian blintz. Not enough towels to change them on request. “Privacy please” sign was not available in spite of our multiple requests.

we liked the atmosphere, like a village, with covered walk ways in between accommodation wings and restaurants. Our quiet room looked out onto lawn then the ocean, lovely sunsets. Loved the large frogs at night on the lawn. The staff were so happy, kind and polite. Our grandchild, 9mths was beautifully cared for in the evenings, he loved her!! The Fijians are fabulous with children! Enough restaurants to choose from, our favourite being Takali,Asian cuisine. Plenty to do, great for families. Snorkelling not the best, coral not healthy, but a nice selection of pretty fish. Watch out for sea snakes. Massages by the Lagoon magnificent ! Lagoon and beach lovely.Tour on the Sigatoka river, visiting village and the welcome/dance and singing, lunch in a village home and driving to and around the Salad bowl, is a MUST. The Fire show/meal and dancing was wonderful. The cocktail/ happy hours are very good. A lovely happy relaxing resort.

The tiles in the bathrooms and on the top of the swimming pools walls need bit of attention, overall some maintenance around the whole resort. However, this didn't takeaway the charm of the architecture of the buildings. Very authentic. Some of the meals were little average, and the alcohol was somewhat expensive . At breakfast in the kids free restaurant, needed to be kept up with the customers. Glasses but no champagne .

Most of the staff are lovely. Moses at the pool is great with the kids. The games by the pool were fun. Checking in and checking out is painfully slow and the system the staff are working with seems difficult. We had the drinks package and the staff had to manually remove drinks charges from our bills. Definitely go to the desk hours before you think you need to. The garbage truck comes around at 3am and glass bottles are thrown in and work begins. There x was no sleeping past this point. If it rains there is nothing to do. I still have not been refunded my $3000 bond and we checked out three days ago. They have no responded to my emails about this. We purchased credit but any unused is not refunded back and there is no way of knowing how much you have left unless you line up at the desk sbd the wait is long. Even then they have to wait for the accounts lady to come in and remind drinks charges etc so you dont get an answer for 24hours. The credit card. Only be used for food and drinks and this had not been explained to us upon purchase resulting in $600 left over that could not be used for tours, hair braiding or spa etc. The bike yours and canoeing yours listed font happen. They only have 4 bikes.

The billing system A wrist band would be helpful for the drinks package Workers should be quiet at night Areas to utilise in the rain Don’t bother with Malolo fishing charter. Paid over $1300 aud. He showed up three hours late. Didn’t seem to know what he was doing. No fish caught.

Buffet breakfast were great. Staff were great and friendly, never have I felt so safe somewhere.

We weren’t keen on Asian food, couldn’t go to the Italian restaurant with kids, didnt want to spend $270 plus drinks for buffet dinner, only choice remained was the beach bar and grill, it was great but being limited to the one restaurant for an entire week is a bit much. Kids club was good, but possibly have the session a little longer to allow for parent to run off (we had a 90minutes massage booked, by the time we dropped the kids, got to the massage, we were late to pick them up)

When we arrived unfortunately the pool had a leak and was out of action for a few days and only a small pool available. But this wasn’t a major problem as the sea was beautiful to swim in and only a few steps away from the pool. Breakfast was your standard buffet, lots to choose from, so great. Dinners were great, rather busy but it was school hols so to be expected, prices were similar to what you would pay in Australia so certainly more than I had expected even in local restaurants!

They have a fab cocktail bar and the only thing that I didn’t like was the music 😝 90s boy bands played quite loudly. It really needed some more chilled out music and a happy hour, I believe it was the only bar without one and never very busy, possibly because of the music and prices. Which was a shame as lovely place for a drink.

The hotel is located in very a beautiful setting. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Wide diversity of restaurants with plenty of choice. Appreciated having a restaurant for adults only for a quiet breakfast. During our stay there was a majority of families with little children. Very convenient for enjoying sea activities, including a good snorkeling reef, and free use of kayaks and paddle boards and snowboards gear. Also a hydrodash floating platform for all to enjoy. The gym is well equipped but quite far from the main areas where the rooms and restaurants are. They were nice and accommodating but they had rarely towels left for gym users. One of the highlights and greatly appreciated was that the room was available at 5:45 am when we arrived after a 10 h flight. We could even enjoy breakfast at 6:30 am and go for a little nap. All at no extra charge. We had a night back home and we also enjoyed a late check out at 3 pm. Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed our holiday very much.

They always lacked of enough towels at the pool and most times have to go later and check if they had been refilled.

Lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff especially Ula at breakfast and the wonderful house keeping women Thankyou.

The only thing that needs attention are the public toilets besides the various Restraunts. A lot of the seats are loosely attached and the large toilet paper cassettes are mounted on the wrong side of the cubical. It’s almost impossible to squeeze a size a 12/14 women between the door and the cassette! I was sad that the ocean has lost its vibrancy, a lot murkier and substantially less fish that our last visits some years ago. We still enjoyed swimming every day.

Loved the ocean view room, and the location of the resort is simply stunning! The food was okay, but the staff during the breakfast at Golden Cowrie were so lovely, especially Fatima! Definitely made our stay memorable :) The Sacred Flame show and dinner was also highly enjoyable!

We made a reservation for dinner to celebrate our engagement at Golden Cowrie - while we did received a confirmation email, they did not register our booking. So we turned up and they said they did not have a reservation for us - we did end up getting a table but that really dampened the mood :( There were also times when we called for maintenance and no one turned up.

Great staff! Value for your money. VOU sacred flame dance was beautiful to experience with most delicious food. The best thing about the food was it was not super sugary. We did horse ride as well, a great way to experience the island. Snorkelling when the tide is high is great too, fish are as friendly as staff, I took some leftover mangoes and who knew fish loves mangoes. Black Marlin Bar is the go to night Bar with Live music, check happy hour times. Staff overall are so helpful and friendly (please be nice to them) leave your grumpy attitude at home 😁. The hotel was fully booked for a rugby event hosted by the resort yet we didn’t feel neglected or overwhelmed by the crowd. I would say if you want some couple time and not be so social book adult only side.

Nothing about the property but some patrons were a little too entitled in their behaviour. Have patience and respect the staff, they were doing their absolute best with a smile on plus if you are on holiday what’s the rush. (Personal opinion)
