Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Great location.

During the check in process customers are required to write down (by pen) their full credit card number, including expiry date, on the same page as their address, name and birthday. For me, that's a security risk and I think the hotel needs to review this part of their check in process. They already have a credit card held on file digitally. And additionally they digitally take card details during the check in, so this writing down the number seems unnecessary as well as uncomfortable. This was my only problem during the stay.

very helpful staff. very convenient location to walk everywhere.. if you have to ride a car or a taxi, then good luck! but thatt is the general situation in Amsterdam central, not with this hotel. staff is super polite, helpful and always willing to make things right the room was good and clean, but a bit weird architecture... as soon as you enter the room, you are in the bathroom! (LoL).

my deal was bed and breakfast rate. even the bill says bed and breakfast rate, but I was told no breakfast was included Nad I'd have to pay 21 Euros for breakfast. no real issue as there are so many great breakfast options and this hotel does not even offer hot breakfast. it's just that I would have not paid the bed and breakfast rate, and told no breakfast included

The welcome was awesome! A small, healthy welcome drink, and space to rest in the lounge, plus coffee. The staff was exceptional here: super nice, informative with great recommendations and perfect service. Also, a great location.

The rooms could have been a bit bigger for 2 people, and the bathroom could have used a heated floor, or at least a rug in there. And, it was a bit dark with the modern, moody color scheme.

There was nothing not to like; every thing was perfect! The hotel was more like a bed and breakfast than hotel. Beautiful facility - every inch of it!

We loved everything about our 3 night stay at Canal House. The location is perfect - right on the canal and walkable to so many points of interest. Just around the corner is the Anne Frank House. We boarded canal boat tour boats here also. Tons of nice cafes and restaurants in this neighborhood as well. Our room (#5) was absolutely perfect/ giant windows overlooking the canal, super comfortable bed and a bathroom with both a tub and a shower. The best part was the lovely staff. Eduardo was so very helpful and makes delicious drinks. The young man who does the breakfast bar was wonderful. The food was freshly prepared each morning with a lovely presentation. We were sad to leave!

I loved everything about the Canal House.

We loved the location of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the staff very friendly, courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend hotel location to anyone. We even walked from the hotel to the museums and explored the other streets on walk back to the hotel daily.

Lighting in the room was an issue as it was either use the lamps in the room which made the room rather dark. Alternative was turn on the overhead lights which made the room so bright. The lighting was blinding and harsh. Not pleasant at all.

Breakfast was delicious… great coffee, croissants, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice , meats cheeses.. perfect start to each day. Staff was extremely helpful.. Erin made two fabulous suggestions for dinner. Location is probably the best area to stay in. Restaurants, shops, canals we felt very safe walking day or night..Nice touch warm hand towels and spiced tea when we arrived.. this set a very caring tone for the rest of our stay… thank you Canal House for a great visit

Better lighting in the halls

Excellent staff who were extremely friendly & helpful. Had a lavish feel from entering the building with the provision of a bespoke ginger tea on check in. Lovely picturesque location a fairly short walk from train station. Beautifully decorated room with view of the well kept garden that had sheltered seating space as well as comfortable garden furniture. Very good breakfast overlooking the garden.

Lift not accessible straight from reception so quite a few stairs to the room. When I used the lift had to walk through kitchen area (not into where food was prepared)

Lovely staff - get location (been before) ...fabulous canal facing room ... not a big fan of baths in the bedroom but we didn't use it anyway - the stairs can be entertaining - we were fine but if you struggle with tight steep staircases this might not be for you ... otherwise - it was great as it was last time - just a short weekend break

Breakfast could be more interesting - and as mentioned - the shower/bath being directly in the room might not be everyones choice ....

The hotel was in the perfect location for exploring the canal district and easy to reach from the Central Station and other key tourist destinations. The view from the room was fabulous.

The room itself was a little small for a deluxe double and there was an odd 'drain' smell in the bathroom which although did fade during our stay found it's way into the bedroom and never entirely went. We had complimentary breakfast with room but weren't aware that it was only Continental breakfast, it would have been nice to have a full service or a hot buffet.
