Breakfast was first class with all options available. Hotel is at the centre of the village in the square which has a certain old world charm. A great location to visit all the well known sites of the lake district
I would have liked to have food at the hotel but at this time of year staff and visitors are in short supply. The other inns were suffering the same problem with the exception of the Cavendish arms which provided excellent food.

Great location in centre of Cartmel. Stayed just for 1 night in room 2 overlooking the village square. My friend and I were having lunch at L'Enclume just round the corner and were allowed to check in early at noon to change and freshen up after a long journey. Room was a large double, converted to a twin, very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast menu - I had eggs Benedict which were perfectly cooked. No parking on site - most of the village is double yellows, but car parking is available on the racecourse just a couple of minutes walk. The staff were welcoming and helpful and I'd definitely stay again.

Location is excellent. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The bedroom furniture was very nice and characterful. Breakfast was good.
Parking is not difficult but it is quite a distance to the hotel with heavy bags. Best to drop off luggage whilst passing. I would have liked some fresh fruit with breakfast.

(Written by Mike's wife) The hotel was right in the middle of Cartmel within walking distance to everything, although Cartmel is a small village! The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was made to order and was very good, you certainly wouldn't be hungry after it. We had lovely weather and there were tables outside the hotel as well as a beer garden so you could enjoy the sunshine. The room was really nice, felt quite spacious apart from the roof sloping down (see below). It was well equipped with tea making facilities, hairdryer etc., and mirrors beside electrical sockets which is essential for drying your hair, I have always been surprised at how many hotels don't have mirrors beside electrical sockets.
(Written by Mike's wife) We had a room at the top of the hotel and it felt like we were in the eaves of the building as the roof sloped down in the bedroom and the bathroom. I am only 5' 5" and I hit my head quite a few times, despite the warning on the ceiling.

Breakfast was good location good very clean and comfortable
There was nothing to dislike the only thing is parking we parked on the racecourse parking for one night when we went to pay we had to use cash because there was a problem with the machines it was £10 but it was all in coins bit of a nightmare our friends helped out trying to find it in all coins

Great location - very central and easy to walk everywhere. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice window overlooking the street. Small bathroom.
Breakfast lacked fresh fruit - grapefruit was ‘fresh out of a tin’. Juice also rather processed.

Throughout the stay the staff were all very friendly. Our breakfast was cooked to order in the mornings and nothing was too much. The bar area had nice comfortable seats and a good choice of drinks.
I don't think much could of been better. On arrive the room we should of had was out of order, but the friendly staff managed to relocate us to a similar room. In all honesty if we hadn't been told we would of never noticed.

A choice of breakfasts, we usually went for the hot breakfast options, I especially liked the "Eggs Royale". Very quick service
Parking a bit tricky, but then we chose to stay during the Cartmel races. Rest of the time, Im sure its fine.
