Marlyse is a wonderful and friendly host who made us and our toddler feel very welcome. She was kind enough to lend us towels for the swimming pool and a highchair for at the table. She cooked as a wonderful dinner, which included local wine, and accommodated our dietary requests. Her breakfast was excellent, with homemade jams and local cheese. Her house is beautiful and the gardens are also lovely, with fig trees and roses. The room was very comfortable and a fan was provided to keep us cool through the warm night. The place is situated just 5 minutes from the highway, making it a perfect and relaxing stop on a journey through France, though we wished we could have stayed longer!

Location excellent for motorway accessibility, but far enough away to be quiet. Lovely relaxed homely atmosphere. Room very comfortable. Swimming pool lovely. Breakfast was really good, lots of homemade items and very happy to provide me with decaf coffee! Wine choices with evening meal were VERY good from a local Cave - we went there the next day and bought several bottles. The owner was welcoming and knowledgeable about the area - spoke excellent English.

The owner is developing her hotel and so things will become even better as this progresses.

This is a really charming country house which is very convenient to the main route down to Spain that we used. Marylse was a super host. She was in contact with us before our visit to make sure that we were happy with the booking. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The dinner was fine and the breakfast was excellent and with home made jams to eat. Marylse was always on hand to assist us with everything.

The owner was very welcoming,friendly and helpful.the building and the surrounding area were beautiful .breakfast was fantastic and the owner kindly explained everything that was on the table mostly homemade🙂the room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable.had a wonderful stay will go back again.excellent service and hotel.

Very charming place in delightful countryside, got a pleasant old-school farm-feeling to it, gardens. Small family hotel, hosts are very friendly, the sheepdog too :) As far away from the impersonal hotel-chains you can get. Best breakfast we ever had in France. Also serves dinner (probably very nice, judging from the breakfast). Good location for exploring the many beautiful villages and small towns in the area, like Jonzac, and only about half an hour from the beaches east of Royan

The house is a beautifully restored maisonette de maitre in a wonderful setting and is very conveniently situated near the motorway from Saintes to Bordeaux. the bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. Marlyse is an amazing hostess and provides everything you need for a luxurious stay.

internal style finished brilliantly: old barn style. Nice, comfy bed. Very good food, local products. Good breakfast however no hot food available.

I have requested quiet room. This was confirmed. On arrival it became apparent that all rooms face close busy road (100 metres). When asked, it appeared as my request was casually confirmed but not taken seriously. Bottom line: this property has no quiet rooms as per above.

Excellent place to stay -just off the Autoroute, halfway down France. Breakfast and Dinner was brilliant and good value. Owner was lovely.

We chose the accommodation because we have friends in the area. The breakfast was the best we have had in France.

A swimming pool would have been most welcome; we understand that there are plans for a pool in the near future.

Lovely caring hosts. We had made a last minute reservation for one night. Although we were the only guests in the low season a three course dinner was prepared for us with a selection of wines. Superb and what a surprise! We’ve had a nice decorated room with a nice view.
