WOW! What an amazing, beautiful hotel with amazing staff. We were wowed by it as soon as we pulled up and walked through the gardens, such a beautiful building. We were greeting by the loveliest lady, Katey, who made our stay extra special and was amazing throughout. She was so nice and friendly and couldn't do enough for you, it was like staying at a friends house! The room was beautiful and spacious with an amazing walk in closet. The little breakfast buffet was great with good vegan options. Fantastic location. We came all the way from the UK to celebrate my partners 50th birthday here and our stay was super special. It's well worth the luxury price. Just everything about our stay here was amazing and perfect, we couldn't have asked for more, especially Katey who was just wonderful!

I stayed at The Richard for 2 nights. The location in Edgartown is excellent and is a short walk away from restaurants / town area / beach. The town itself is quaint and perfect for families. Katie at reception was super nice and helpful with our request for a late check-in and with food / activity recommendations. The Richard is a small boutique hotel and the rooms are slightly smaller in size, however it was perfect for a 2 night stay. The interior decorations are very modern, clean and cozy. Breakfast was included and they had a small but nice selection of locally baked goods. Would definitely recommend.

The prices are high for the size of the room, however, I understand that Martha's Vineyard especially in the summer months can be quite expensive generally. Considering that - for the location, cleanliness, design and service - I would say its still worth it.

Each morning hot coffee and breakfast goodies were waiting for us. While the friendly staff were setting up I popped in a bit early (cuz, coffee!) and they were smiley and not annoyed at my presence! The room was spectacular, the deck a perfect spot to take in air and enjoy the vibes and of course the location could not be beat. Oh and the yummy chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were an added bonus! Room was spic and span, bed was heaven . . .

Nothing!

It was a pretty small inn within easy walking distance of downtown. The gardens in the back area were lovely and peaceful with plenty of places to sit and relax. Included an outdoor fireplace. Kaitlyn was a terrific front desk host, provider of a simple but ample breakfast buffet and an all-around welcoming and charming manager.

Our only complaint was the noise level in the ground floor rooms. The upstairs rooms need to be carpeted.

Breakfast was high quality, but needs more healthy options (e.g., all of the yogurt was loaded with sugar, and most of the baked goods and the granola were all sugar). We loved the neighborhood and the courtyard.

The windows didn't have screens, so on a beautiful summer trip, we couldn't open them because of bugs. And it's a shame to have such a beautiful courtyard (plenty of seating and a beautiful fire pit) but not to serve drinks and snacks (and I have to believe it'd be a high margin addition). Finally, the woman at the front desk in the morning was wonderful, but the young man in the afternoon was impersonal and not particularly customer-focused.

The room was stunning! It was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable. The grounds are kept so well and we enjoyed spending afternoons in the garden. The attention to detail and personalization for our anniversary in the room when we arrived was so sweet

Our room was under a stairwell so we heard a lot of noise at night, but wouldn’t deter us from visiting again! We would just request a more private room

Everything was expected staff was very nice we enjoyed our stay. They put out a good breakfast which was included in the stay. Place was clean. Linens were of quality

Water pressure and use of water saving shower heads which could have been town compliance reasons. It appears the home was completely renovated but they used Pella windows that all of them you could not lock! I built a home with Pella and have the same problem so not having windows that locked were a little concerning. I would imagine at some point they will have to fix this issue.

The hotel was lovely. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. They had everything you could think of, such as beach chairs and towels, extra hangers in the closet, very nice shower products, and refillable glass water bottles. The breakfast each morning was very good, and there was always water, coffee, and juice available.

The location, and the bed/pillows were amazing, the room was very nice, great style and very clean.

The shower had very high water pressure and it bounced off the clear pane doors to the ceiling and into the bathroom. After a shower, the entire bathroom was wet! We tried to adjust but the water pressure made it difficult The breakfast was disappointing - the chia mix was not great, the tea option (the black tea was so weak). However, the granola was very good.

Location, the size, decor, cleanliness, friendly staff. I can’t remember the guys name but he went out of his way to connect me to HBO Max to watch series finale if Succession, sent chocolate and Prosecco to room after a breakfast snafu. Beautiful bathrooms. I like the yard.

No Nespresso machines in the room, no Smart TV options, no snacks available after breakfast for purchase or complimentary.
