Great, quiet location with a fantastic view of the sea from both the bed and balcony. Clean and comfortable, with the comfort and utilities you need for a short or long stay. Air conditioning worked great when needed, and Mario provided mosquito repellent for when we needed it. The short walk to the beach and center of this extremely small town was a joy and it satisfied our desire for the small Greek island vacation we wanted.
There was only one knife that would bend every time you tried to cut something. I'd recommend a new set of cutlery for the rooms, with 2 of each, just in case. A small investment that would help a lot. Also, I'd highly recommend an anti-slipping thing on the bathroom floor, so you don't slip when you get out of the shower/bathtub. Not a big problem for us but I could see how that can prove more dangerous for an older person or child. The chairs on the balcony would benefit from replacement, as the material itself was worn and you'd sit uncomfortably on them. Probably easy to reupholster. These are all extremely small details that can be easily fixed but didn't affect our overall enjoyment that much.

The hotel is placed in the nicest area in Skala, close to the pine forrest. The sea view with Aegina on the other side is amazing. The room is spacious, the balcony great, and the kitchen corner very useful (water cooker, plates, cutlery, fridge). There s no cooking plate but for making some breakfast or salads its perfect. The tap water is drinkable and it tastes surprisingly very good. There is no restaurant at the hotel but thats better, you can enjoy the silence in the evening instead of having restaurant music and noises. There are plenty of food options within 2 min walk. There s a swimming platform down from the hotel and the harbour is a quick walk away. The guy at the reception was helpful and friendly. A bit pricey but I guess its in range for Agistri. I enjoyed my stay and Id come again. Please consider telling the reception staff to clean your room and change your sheets and towels only when its absolutely necessary. They are happy to do it every day, but we're not in the '80s anymore, its a completely unsustainable practice from an ecological point of view, there s no need to wash towels that often or pollute with extra harsh cleaning products every day.
There are no mosquito nets on the bathroom window or on the balcony door, so that leaves you with the option to sleep either with the doors closed or to use chemical pills. What may seem in the photos like a mosquito net around the bed... its not, its just useless deco :) The bed is a bit old and squeeky.

What a lovely place! Mario gave me a great welcome from the moment I arrived. He was super helpful and friendly. Very proactive and knowledgeable. Room very clean and a good size, perfect location for some quiet up the hill a little bit near the forest and Skliri beach. Was nice to stay outaide the town. Fridge and kettle were useful in room. Balcony was a good size and had a great view across the sea to Aegina and the sunrise! Next to some beautiful quieter swimming spots and an easy cycle/walk into Skala town. Nice lounge to relax in and books to borrow. Comfortable bed and GREAT pillows.
I went there for peace and truly it is the perfect setting. But the fridge next to the bed was old (Room 15). It hummed loudly and trickled water inside it constantly which disturbed the general peace inside the room as it was louder than the sea below. Especially at night, not so relaxing. Access to the balcony made it bareable. Beware of the thin walls...I could hear the guy peeing next door as if he were in my room. Would definitely stay again but would ask for a room with a newer/quieter fridge.

We loved Hotel Dionysis! We were greeted by Mario, the new owner & manager of the hotel. He was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was large, very clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the sea. We sat out on the balcony every evening. The hotel was quiet at night (we slept sooo well on the cozy bed) and yet it was still central to everything -- great restaurants, beaches, the center of Skala, buses, cafes, etc. It's a 5 minute walk to Megalochori Beach and a less than 10 minute walk to Chalikiada Beach. Tons of other little beaches along the way, too!
Nothing, everything was lovely. Mario has plans to revive the bar and add morning coffee -- these will be great additions! I would love to stay again.

Mario at the front desk was very likable and attentive. The room was exactly as pictured on the website. Close to everything, but not in the middle of everything... Which was a good thing. It would be considered a huge suite in European terms. Ours had 3 balconies 2 facing the sea, 1 facing the road. Rented a scooter for the day to explore the island and found a fantastic private island at the far south end of the main road, with 3 beaches to choose from for only 6 euros per person, including chairs and umbrella. The only hiccup was the last ferry of the weekend had broke down in Athens, and the replacement didn't pick us up until nearly midnight. We arrived at our apartment in Athens around 2am.
The shower was a hand held wand standing in an undersized tub. I choose to sit down to shower, so-as to not get the rest of the room wet.

The hotel had a beautiful sea view. The room was very pleasant and spacious. The bathroom was ok and the kitchenette was sufficient. There was also a mini fridge that was good enough for our needs. The room has plenty of drawers. Right next to the hotel is another one that has a restaurant where you can get some decent food. There are also several beaches within walking distance. Mario from the reception was also very helpful and friendly and tried to accommodate us as much as possible. It's also very close to the town so you can quickly go to other restaurants and the shops.
When we arrived one of the cabinet doors was unhinged but the staff from the hotel came to fix it without even being told by us. There were also a bunch of ants in a corner of the room but the staff dealt with that quickly and there were no problems henceforth. Unfortunately, we kept getting a lot of mosquitoes. There is a mosquito repelling device in the room though. Also there is a bed net, but I'm not sure how effective it is as it doesn't stick completely to the wall. One thing that we found a bit off was that the bathrooms all had a hole toward the hallway. I guess it's needed for ventilation, but can be awkward.

Charming with lovely attention to decor; requirements of a traveller like cupboard space, tea and coffee facilities with sink; double glazed windows with a good air conditioning system; balcony with a view of the water; proximity to a private swimming spot AND easy walking distance to sister hotel for breakfast and beach. Very friendly welcome by Mario who attended promptly to our requests.
Would have liked complete crockery and cutlery sets rather than mismatched minimum cutlery/crockery; nicer and more glassware including wine glasses; milk supplied in the fridge.

This accommodation exceeded all my expectations - the extremely tasteful furniture, the practical equipment (fridge and small kitchenette), the high quality bed, the balcony with sea view, the quiet location... the price-performance ratio is optimal! I would especially like to mention the host Mario, who was not only extremely friendly and humorous but also helpful in all matters. Thanks to his service, nothing was missing, on the contrary, he is simply a TOP host. 5 times 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Everything was perfect.

Agistri isn't a cheap island, so in that context, Dionysos is good value. The location is really good. The swimming area is idyllic and peaceful. Staff are lovely and the hotel is very clean and quiet. I would definitely return.
The room could have had slightly better equipment but Mario got everything we asked for sort really quickly - thanks Mario! A few small changes could probably raise the standard of Dionysos quite a lot. Hopefully the owners are reading! :-)

Very welcoming. Manager John very pleasant and helpful, with lots of good tips for the island. Perfect location near water, beach, port. Swimming platform just a few steps away from the hotel for early morning swims. Standard double: big room, basic kitchen amenities . Old design but quite clean. (Though somebody missed the shoe print on the wall some two meters up...) Nice, comfortable bed, balcony with sea view, quiet and peaceful. Very nice cleaning staff. Very relaxing experience. Would come back.
All good.
