Everything the rooms are very comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee with a kettle. The breakfast was exceptional and we ate there both nights as the menu was so good and varied and good value for money. The staff are all friendly and gave advice as there was a zombie pub crawl on the Saturday night so advised us to eat earlier which was spot on 1 member of staff Christine was exceptional she did many jobs within the hotel from reception to serving breakfast all with a smile and a chat. She even came out to wish us a safe journey home. What a great person to have working for them very impressed

The staff made our stay, penny, tatyanna, Lara, Christine, Dave, josh, Sebastian were ALL amazing and made us feel like we were visiting friends. Bed was super comfy, room had everything we needed, love the shower, fluffy towels, and shopping area great. Free parking, free internet and was a market on the day we arrived. The breakfast was amazing, thanks chefs your the best and no need to leave hungry . If you want the better stay, choose the cock hotel, the bull is not a patch on it ..
Heating in bathroom didn't switch off but just keep door shut and contains it, good for cold nights when can leave it open to warm the room. TV basic channels but we watched netflix on iPad with free internet One barman on our first day was a bit grumpy, the chubbier guy .

This old coaching in has so much history associated with it, it's great, this is the pub which coined the term, "Cock and Bull story!" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cock_and_bull_story I was very late to checking after visiting MK11 Music |Venue, and the hotel didn't even bat an eyelid, very helpful, very efficient, and a great nights stay. Lovely breakfast the next morning, very comfy bed.
Vegetarian sausages for breakfast were not done very well, I think they were microwaved, but the remainder of the breakfast was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Due to the historic nature of the building, some of the floors were a little uneven. I found this appealing, as it was characterful, but some people with walking problems might find this challenging. It was quite noisy outside the hotel when I arrived as it was a busy pub opposite playing loud music, but I hardly noticed it inside.

Liked the location and parking availability. The bed was soft and cozy and the room temperature was easily controlled by the thermostatic radiator valves. Shower was good and the bathroom was clean with nice fluffy white towels.
The bathroom had a rather nasty odour of what seemed like a drainage problem. The window couldn't be opened wide enough to get a good fresh air flow in. It's a very old hotel so you can expect a couple of problems so no big deal really.

Lovely historic hotel and easy to access local sights. Breakfast leisurely but great. There were some lovely personal touches - such as when our room was cleaned and they spotted l’d bought extra teabags so left me additional milk. If they’d managed this level of service throughout it would have been exceptional.
Unfortunately we visited on the hottest weekend of the year and the hotel is not equipped for this. The shower gel was empty when we arrived and on the last dat the tea and coffee was not replenished and we had less towels left. There is no lift so we had to carry all our luggage up a narrow staircase. If you have accessibility issues I’d probably suggest this isn’t the hotel for you.

Smokers well away from access doors. Good sized room, good sized bath, good shower water pressure. Comfortable bed. Nice bar area. Good breakfast Coffee 7 out of 10. Good parking Good location for other pubs and various eating houses. Very pleasant and chatty staff.
No privacy nets on the window, so curtains open or closed. Therefore lights on during the day😱 Lighting a bit dull in the room, especially the bedside lamp. Could do with bigger "No Smoking / Vaping" signs near entrances to buildings from courtyard area, where they all hang out in droves.🤢

We have stayed at the Cock several times. It is nice that the staff remember us. We like room 25 and they always let us stay in that room. The food in the restaurant is excellent.
I think it's about time that Green King spent some money on the Cock. It is looking a bit tired and could do with a coat of paint in places. There has probably been a water leak in room 25 and the carpet is stained. The ceiling light shade makes the room a bit dark.

Location is great. We were attending a party in the function room, and it was brilliant to be able to stay in the same hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful. The courtyard is pretty.
The room seemed a bit tired. The curtains were falling off and I had to rehang them! There was no plug for the bath and the sink plug was perished, so we couldn’t fill either with water. There was rust around the Bath plug hole. Also the floor under the vinyl in the bathroom was very uneven with a worrying soft dip in the middle.

Good location (for visiting family in Stony Stratford). Old World charm Lucky with parking spaces at the rear of the property
Afternoon sun made the room hot / no air con and only a small desk fan. After getting used to the uneven floor in the room, the whole stay grew on you and became the norm.

Very friendly, welcoming staff, very helpful. The room and bed were very comfortable, a bit quirky being such an old coaching inn. Bathroom was good, good shower over bath. outstanding breakfast of the highest quality. Room at front but noise was ok
Limited toiletries which were not topped up, in fact these ran out. Tea/ coffee not topped up.
