We stayed at the exquisite Chateau de Montcaud for three long, glorious sunlit days in July 2024. What can we say? Perfection, perfection, perfection. We were greeted on arrival by Julyane, the concierge. Julyane was one of the main highlights of our stay. Charming, welcoming, kind and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. His first words to us were. “You can relax now. We will look after you. “ … And they did. Breakfast and dinner in the Bistro. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Dinner at Le Cedre was beyond compare and should not be missed. And for a 1 star Michelin restaurant it was very good value. The poolside service was perfect. Unobtrusively. I’ve attached photos but it does not do this beautiful building and fine, fine service justice. We will definitely be returning next year for a repeat. Wonderful, don’t hesitate to come here. We stayed in a privilege room. Bed very comfortable and air conditioning very efficient - and we were here in a heatwave. Everything was immaculate.

Absolutely gorgeous place with a great staff. Traveling with my wife and baby daughter, we were taken very great care of and the chateau is very kid friendly (high chair at restaurant, tons of fields to play around, crib in room, etc). Julien the concierge was a gem and always greeted us asking how we were and how he could help. Very family vibe within the staff which we loved. Pool was very refreshing and the food was great. It was a great destination if you want to get away from a city or work to slow down to enjoy life a bit.

Basically everything. A beautiful classic estate, with many facilities (very nice swimming pool, electric bikes, tennis court). During your stay you feel almost alone in the property, despite the presence of other guests obviously (very silent, relaxing place). Hotel employees were very helpful and ready to assist and provide information and also extremely kind.

Maybe a more classic reception, with a bar and at night a classic janitor is missing. But overall it is not a big miss, given the presence of many common rooms for reading, etc.

Great “old money” vibe! Location near a lot of small authentic villages where you can enjoy a walk and a coffee/lunch! The service is great, the staff are very friendly and polite.

The menu of the bistro needs a bit of fine tuning/bigger variety (especially for the 3-course meal choices) to be absolutely in line with the all the other great parts of the hotel.

The staff, food, and property were beyond amazing. We will be returning to the Château as soon as possible. Room was a great size, pool was calm, and restaurant (bistro/gastro) were nothing but amazing.

Beautiful chateau hotel, incredible service, surrounding and facilities. Fabulous breakfast on the terrace. So sorry we only had one night here. Lovely touch was a hand-written welcome note from the owners.

Our room was very small, and there was nowhere to hang dresses. The closet was for men's shirts only. Very odd. Especially since we were staying there to attend a party. The rate for the room was high, as it was mid-summer, but it was worth it!

Magical place, highly recommended. Service was implacable. Room was specious and very comfortable. Big comfortable bed. Free parking and free available bicycle so you can ride and travel in teh area. Swimming pool was great to refresh after a long hot day. Attention is given to every little detail which makes staying here a unique experience. The restaurant is highly recommended with delicious food and supreme services.

The breakfast was very good. Everything was very pleasant. The gardens are exceptional. Impressive trees. The swimming pool perfect. The restaurant with a Michelin star is very very good.

Top drawer. Also…Chef in gourmet restaurant provided a meal fit for a king and a queen. Likely at a level of best every. Worth the trip just for that but rest was just terrific.

We were staying in the superb suite. The king size bed has no separate mattrasses - so one partner turning at night waking up the other other.
