Friendly staff and accommodating to requests, also organised early morning check in. Fresh apples 🍎 available for guests was a nice touch (excellent tasting too)

Our bed was just ok , we slept ok but it’s in need of replacement, I notified the staff of this. This is nothing unusual in high traffic hotels. We stayed here last year and our bed was great.

I booked this hotel because I saw it was top-rated for solo travelers, and close to the tube. I can’t recommend it enough especially if you’re a woman traveling alone. The Grand Royale always felt extremely safe, clean, and hospitable. The young men that worked as bellhops/assistant were so attentive and helpful. I was so thankful that they actually brought my bags to my room, as I had arrived early and left them in luggage storage. Breakfast was okay. The entry, lobby, and breakfast room are gorgeous! The rooms are a bit small if you’re used to more of the American sized hotel room, but it felt cozy and I was only there to sleep and shower. Also, hotel rooms in Europe tend to be smaller. I booked the twin single and ended up on the 8th floor with an AMAZING view of London, all for a very reasonable fee. There are 2 tube stations nearby (Queensway and Bayswater). They can get you anywhere you need to go and they’re seriously a 2-3 min walk away.

There isn’t a shower curtain and just a piece of small glass towards the front of the shower, but my last hotel in London was like that, too. I chalk it up to a cultural difference. However, when you shower, it’s easy to get water all of the floor if you aren’t careful. The shower heads are moveable, so if you adjust yours by making it face the corner, you won’t have to worry about water getting all over the floor.

Great location with a lovely ambience. Clean and well maintained facilities with helpful and professional staff.

The room we booked was last minute and our room was under the lounge area, the room itself was great but the noise of activity and movement above could be heard at all hours.

Absolutely in love with the decor , shiny chandeliers , dark wood panels and history of the hotel , my friend and I were so excited to be staying , entering the main door into the beautiful foyer was amazing but, the receptionist welcome brought us down with a bump , no welcoming smile in fact , quite hostile towards us, demanded my details and sent us on our way, she definitely needs some training skills, this review would be glowing if she hadn't made us feel so awful in arrival (stayed 9th- 11th October ) 4pm check in approx .

Staff were absolutely excellent, the hotel was unique and had lots of beautiful features. Was fantastic value for money and a really good location to get around the city. Breakfast was also really great for the low price and the breakfast staff were always lovely and eager to help (they even remembered how we like our coffee!).

The room was a bit scruffy for the four star rating - the shower didn’t entirely work (it sprayed everywhere when I tried to use it as it would slide into a weird position). However the room was fairly quiet and clean and comfy. Totally worth the price and definitely good for a short term stay. If I stayed longer I probably would have gone for one of the bigger/pricier rooms, but I would stay here again for sure! :)

Location was fantastic, walk outside and your in Kensington gardens, 2 tube stations around the other corner with plenty of restaurants. Air conditioning in the room, hairdryer and very clean. Beautiful building.

The £20 they charge you and say it will be refunded back on the day you leave, even when you've already paid in full, I checked out 6 days ago and it's still pending.

Breakfast was okay. And the location is good.

The breakfast was outstanding and your team very attentive, approachable and extremely helpful. The hotel is exceptional taking in the history and granduer of decor which is both incredible and wonderfully nostalgic. The rooms were serviced and well stocked with all amenities needed. If extra were required the reception are happy to help. The location is perfect and idea with good connection to the city and the lovely parks. Would definitely revisit the hotel and recommend anyone to include it in their trip to the city.

The rooms are a little on the small side but comfortable. A little maintenance needed to lamps over the bed and no internal lock on the door but not sure if this is as it should be. Not sure if the extractor fan was working in the on suite.

Room was excellent, location superb, and breakfast very good. In contrast to some worrying reviews I had read prior to my stay, the room was not too small, well-designed and well-equipped for its size, and perfectly surrounded within this magnificent historical building, with a most regal atmosphere. I very much enjoyed my stay and felt as though I were staying at a palace.

The hotel bar may benefit from being mentioned during check-in by the staff, as it is a lovely room, but seemingly not well visited. This hotel is not fully accessible and therefore may not suited for those with limited mobility.

The hotel itself is beautiful, it reminded me of a Manor house. The staff were very friendly and helped any way they could. Storing luggage before we could check in and out and having a 24-hour reception. The location was great in relation to being close to a tube station (Bayswater) and various shops and restaurants without having to go anywhere else. About a 5 minute walk.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable but I don't think the beautiful decor related from the hotel to the room which was a shame. It's really not much of an issue as you're not there that much but it would've been nice if the theme carried on.
