I dare you to find fault Checked in 30 minutes early and wasn’t a problem. Shown to my room. When does that happen? Nice touch. When we got to the room the curtains were pulled as it was a hot day and a fan was on. Again nice touch. In the room a radio was gently playing. Again nice touch. Someone has thought about this and made it happen so well done. Room was very well equipped with water, coffee and tea making facilities. Bed was great with a selection of pillows. I was staying overnight as this was a working trip. Great and easy WiFi which is a must. Restaurant and bar was busy for a Wednesday which says a lot. It came under pressure at the peak time but again that says a lot. I ate in the bar area. Great menu, good selection and I dare you to eat of the Chicken Escalope. I asked for a 10 minute gap between the starter and the main course which was also delivered. Best shower, best fluffy and big towels, great bed. Breakfast is comprehensive with fresh fruit and a hot breakfast cooked to order. This place is well run, managed and with nice touches everywhere. Will definitely return

The property is very clean and quiet. It is super-dog-friendly, with dogs allowed in the restaurant and at breakfast. The staff are polite, friendly and very efficient. The breakfasts are lovely, the bar area is nice and the meals in the cozy dining area are good. There was a technical problem with our first room; we were moved without fuss and given a partial refund as compensation, (which was a lovely gesture). We also had a complimentary glass of Prosecco at dinner as it was a special occasion. It was our second time at the Wellington, and the lady on Reception remembered us! (Thanks so much for your help, btw). We will definitely return. Thanks so much!
Nothing - all good.

Beautiful rooms and easy to find in the hotel. The bathroom was very spacious and the soaps provided smelt amazing. We had a nice view of the outside wedding ceremony area which was great.
At breakfast there were some fruit flies we noticed which wasn't very appealing. For the room the bed was comfortable but the pillows we felt were quite hard so found it hard to get comfy. On our check in we were told check out was 11am which we thought was great but when we went for breakfast just after 10am we were told check out was 10am. I overheard someone else at check out say the same about being told to check out at 11am. This was a little confusing.

Super-clean room and a spacious bathroom with an absolute essential, a really good shower!! It also had the other essential, a very comfortable bed with high quality linen. I'mExcellent room facilities, coffee, tea, hairdryer, bathrobe. The staff welcoming and friendly throughout, in reception, the bar, the restaurant and at breakfast. Free parking right next to the entrance to reception was a bonus. Overall a really comfortable and relaxed stay, I highly recommend it.
The only niggle, and it's a minor one, was that we had a room adjoining the stairwell and in the morning you couldn't fail to hear people coming down to breakfast etc.

It was my partner's birthday. Nevermind, we only live nearby but we are regular clients when it comes to the weekend without a children's getaway for lunch, dinner or just pop out for a drink . We decided it would be a lovely treat for ourselves and try what it is like to have a stay . It was absolutely amazing . Food as usual is amazing . With our stay the staff went over and beyond . Our room was amazing , clean , and super relaxing, ESPA toiletries . Breakfast again, was just amazing with lots of options even for vegetarians and vegans . We had breakfast al fresco, which was just magical . Now we are really considering our wedding venue.

Had some trouble with the breakfast as the staff checking us in said it started at 7am on the Saturday morning but then it only started at 8am. As we had to leave before 8am this meant missing out, however after calling head office they took money off the bill to compensate us as a kind gesture. So very happy with the outcome but can't comment on how good (or not) the breakfast is.
Had bikes with us and we were told the best place to keep them was locked up outside. I wonder if there was somewhere inside, but then it's not really the sort of place to take bikes to. More a romantic/family stay.

This was a 3 night stay to visit my daughter who lives nearby in a 1 bedroomed house. It was booked as pub accommodation, dog friendly and within my budget. I was hoping it met my expectations and some of the other reviews on Booking.coms website. Well, the whole stay was way better than expected. The property is a lovely pub, with a quality hotel feel. The location is fantastic with green and country parks all around. The breakfast was great and evening meals were also top quality. Rooms were very well presented, we even had classical radio playing upon entering the bedroom for the first time. Very welcoming. But the best bit was the attentiveness and professionalism of all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, they were engaging, helpful and great with our dog. We can't wait to stay again, next time my daughter "invites" us down

Lovely quiet ground floor room. Copious amounts of hot water. Large walk in shower. Responsive and friendly staff. Comfortable beds .Very minor issues dealt with quickly - missing bulb, shower mat. Brilliant evening meals in traditional setting - food excellent. Good. Particularly liked waking up to birds amongst trees despite being near a very busy road. Lovely grounds with outdoor eating areas and dog friendly. Overall a really lovely hotel which we would willingly use again.
Our one and only very minor complaint is about the breakfasts. Whilst there was an extensive and no doubt excellent menu for cooked breakfast for those wishing to eat a continental breakfast the choice was limited. The freshly prepared melon and pineapple were only available for two days, as were the croissants. Cereals were limited in choice and not particularly good quality. In no way did this limited breakfast spoil our stay and we would willingly stay at this hotel again.

The Wellington Arms is a lovely place to stay, and allowed us to check in early and extend our check out time which is greatly appreciated. The rooms we stayed in were bright and airy. The staff were lovely.
The breakfast area snug is not well lit and didn't have serving utensils for pastries and fresh fruit platter, I did ask a staff member for some who then rectified it fairly quickly. The breakfast was a bit slow to arrive and again depending on what you ordered for breakfast was a bit hit and miss, but I would let it put you off staying here... It was a busy breakfast morning.

Located on the A33 between Reading and Basingstoke the Wellington Arms is an ideal place to break your journey to either the South Coast or the South West if you're planning to go via the M3/A303. The rooms are both comfortable and quiet and the staff were all very welcoming/friendly and provided excellent service during our stay. Breakfast and our evening dinner were delicious and the bar and restaurant were both comfortable and an ideal area to relax and unwind. The Inn is pet friendly and our dog Flora accompanied us during our meals and enjoyed the garden and outside terrace.
The wine list is a little pricey and could do with the addition of a house wine but this is only a minor point as overall we felt that our stay was good value for the quality and service provided.
