We have just had a 5 night in Bugeat. Janey and Shaz are so welcoming, nothing is to much trouble. The room was spacious and airy with an amply useable en suite. Breakfast is continental and plentiful with local cheeses being offered along with croissants The outdoor decking area provides a lovely relaxing spot after a hard day exploring locally. Great to catch up with fellow guests and our hosts.

L'Ancienne Poste is conveniently located in the centre of the village and only a few minutes walk from the few shops and cafes but it is also wonderfully quiet and peaceful. A lovely place to chill out. It is a good location to explore the region too. All the guest rooms are a nice size and proportion and nicely decorated. The English hosts, Sharon and Janey, are lovely and are continually looking to improve so I have no doubt it will be even nicer next time we visit. Note: the parking is on the street outside the house, but it is a very quiet road so I had no worries about parking outside. If you are on a motorbike, I would have no worries about parking outside.

I cannot think of anything.

We liked the peaceful location. Our room was one of the garden rooms which meant we could sleep with the window open and not be woken by any noise, not something we can do at home. It's quite striking how quiet the village and surrounding area is, no discernible traffic noise, something you cannot get away from in our part of East Sussex. There is a lovely boulangerie a couple of minutes walk (if that) from the house where you can indulge in patisseries or just get some baguette for a lunchtime picnic. The village café, also no more than 1-2 minutes away, serves excellent coffee and overlooks the village square. Nearby there are lakes where you can swim. Lake Treignac https://www.sportsnature-correze.com/ is 15-20 minutes drive and has an artificial beach with lifeguards, and is a very good safe place for swimming with the younger children, you can also hire paddle boards, canoes etc. from 5 Euros / 30 mins pp and there is one of those inflatable floating assault course things for 10 Euro / hour pp. There is also shade if you need it, and a restaurant bar selling food and ice creams. The beach is free too. You can take a dog too, not on the lifeguarded beach but next to it. you could easily spend a day there with the family. Lake Viam is nearer still but is just a little beach and has no life guard, it does have a nearby cafe/bar for refreshments. The water in both was a lovely temperature and very clean. The nearby Roman ruins are worth a visit https://www.sportsnature-correze.com/ - no charge. And the view at Mont Bessou is worth seeing, you can see all the way across to Puy de Dome. Note: If you are a biker, this area is biking heaven. It reminds me a lot of the Black Forest in Germany, but less traffic, with miles of very good, often immaculate, tarmac, many miles often with no straights just lovely easy bend after bend with lovely scenery. Sharon and Janey were perfect hosts.

Nothing.

This hotel was like finding an oasis. So glad to have come across it on Booking.com and to find out how friendly the owner was and how much thought and effort was being put into creating a welcoming and comfortable space. Great location too in the centre of a peaceful village. I hope to come back and stay again.

Everything was really special - including the breakfast, room, en-suite shower etc.

Quiet and well located as it was within a few minutes by foot from the train station and center of the village. Our hosts were very friendly and easy going which gave a lovely, relaxed atmosphere to our stay. Eating breakfast at a communal table meant we met other guests which was most interesting.

Nothing.
