the place was very tranquil, the bungalow was clean. swimming pool was great. staff were so friendly and helpful and did everything to answer any doubts or questions. they have scooters to hire for only 5 euros a day. it was a short walk to crystal bay beach. Food was good and cheap.

This is NOT a dislike just a comment for people thinking of staying. The location was hidden away. However, this IS very common in Bali, lots of places are in the middle of nowhere. it is close to the beach and Amok sunset (amazing beach bar) you have to get everywhere by taxi or scooter (if you have never ridden a scooter I would not recommend you to do this as the roads are really bad). just take this into consideration.

small and intimate. Staff were so lovely, made the room up everyday and topped up the bottled water. Swimming pool was very clean and the gardens were beautiful. 10min walk to the beach. They do serve food, not a huge menu but it was fine. we were away for 3 weeks and this was the BEST mie goreng of the trip! Hired a scooter for $10AUD a day but didn’t provide helmets it wasn’t a problem :) if you’re staying here you should check out Amok Sunset which isn’t too far away!

nothing! If I was to be picky a hand towel for the bathroom would have been nice. We knew what to expect from past reviews. There really isn’t anything around though if you’re not using a scooter (other than the restaurant at the hotel next door) but the food at the hotel is fine! The road to get there is super bumpy but just take it slow if you’re riding a scooter and you’ll be fine. Really not an issue. Just FYI there really isn’t much on the island so will have to get transport to each destination. It does get hectic with cars from day trips from the main island so try to get up and out early before the first boat that arrives at 8:30am unless you want to spend hours in bumper to bumper traffic :)

Lovely small hotel close to the Crystal beach. The rooms were large but the facilities were slightly basic. But I guess it is ok for a small island like Nusa Penida where people would probably stay for a night if at all. The staff were cordial and helpful. The lafyciwner arranged for my transport from Kuta including the ferry and it all went smoothly.

We were taking packed breakfast as we left very early. I requested for some pancakes as we would not have eggs or coffee, but we were charged separately for this.

Penida is so developed compared to 7 years ago when I last visited. We stayed 2 nights in penida. First night at Crystal Bay because we thought we would like to snorkel from the beach and enjoy the beautiful beach. Second night at Toya Pakeh Beach to be nearer to Harbour to take return boat to Sanur. Before Penida, we were staying in Lembongan and we managed to liaise with resort manager to arrange a local jukung captain to transport us directly from the resort beach to Crystal Bay Beach! It saved us from having to take a bumpy car ride to yellow Bridge in Lembongan to take a boat to penida Harbour and then another bumpy car ride to Crystal Bay Beach. The pool is a good size, pool area is peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are mostly facing the pool. The upper level rooms are not able to see the beach as we are too far from it.

It is hard to find the resort by foot if it's your first time. The walk from beach is about 15 minutes. Easy walk once you know the way. We had to stop to ask the locals on the way to check in. You have to enter BaleLumbung Villa to access Crystal Bay Beach Villa! The beach is full of day trip tourists from Bali. There are lots of stalls selling food and drinks with tables and chairs under big umbrellas. If you want to relax on a beach deck chair/bed, you need to Pay Rp 100,000 for one and the attendant will find you one. Looking at the vast number of beds and the high turnover rate and the charges, I can't help but to wonder who owns the business and I hope some of the profit go to helping the community like cleaning up the rubbish.

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful; we had a scooter accident and they provided some basic first aid equipment and were very fair regarding the charges for scooter damage, plus accommodated some slightly odd requests of mine (ex: I asked the kitchen for a bowl and salt so I could make a saline soak for some cuts!)

The room didn't have bedside lamps, so you needed to use the bight overhead ones if you wanted any light while reading or in bed. The pillows were actually too thick and no options for thinner pillows. And the road to the hotel is terrible! (not the hotel's fault of course, and I think it's under construction to be improved?) But the rough road causes some taxi's to be more expensive, and is a factor to why we crashed our scooter!

We really enjoyed how clean this stay was, the AC worked really great, and they always came in to change the sheets and give us clean towels. The food they offered was also great, the ice coffee and their juices were awesome. It was also good walking distance from Crystal bay beach.

The water coming out of the shower smelled a little fishy. Also we booked some appointments with the spa near by and one of the spa ladies was very sick and coughing while giving massages, which made us uncomfortable.

Very nice hotel located near Crystal Bay Beach in the greenary of the jungle. Spacious and clean rooms with terraces or veranda. There is a pool with sunbeds in the courtyard of the hotel which is full of plants The rooms are cleaned daily. The staff is kind, helpful and responsible. There are several breakfast options, mainly eggs and pancakes served with fresh juice and fruits. There is no rich variety of foods in the menu list so we used the restaurant for dinner only once and the sea food noodles were tasty.

Staff were amazing and went above and beyond every day & So helpful. Got a fresh juice on arrival and check in was quick and efficient. Pool area was clean. Value for money.

Location was close to the beach approximately a 10 minute walk. But very far from everything else, we personally felt isolated but if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing getaway this is ideal.

Crystal bay bungalows is a fantastic place to stay, however it’s a little far from the best places like kelingking. However it’s right next to crystal bay. Everything is so clean here and there’s free breakfast. (Get the fried eggs and toast) and breakfast coffee is actually really great. Nusa Penida is generally very small and not too many amenities near by, so don’t expect to have a 5 star meal with cocktails anytime soon.
