Loved: the location! The parking garage was only a 7 min walk away and cost 3 euros a day. I could walk anywhere and didn't need my vehicle at all. I brought my standard poodle (at 70 pounds, his a big boy!) with me and there was plenty of room for him to walk around the home! And there was a nice park less than 5 minutes from the home that I could take my dog to. The beds were comfortable and the owner's instructions made it easy to find the home and get the key. And another bonus, I booked the home the morning of and had instructions on how to find the entrance and how to get in within a few hours. I had read that some people were having issues getting ahold of the owner, but I had none, even with booking the place extremely last minute. The home was fully equipped with everything I needed EXCEPT I did have to bring my bathroom items like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Things I didn't love: Since the location is almost in the city itself, the nightlife can keep you awake IF you have your windows open. It was a little warm at the end of May so I had my windows open but shut my kid's windows shut so they could sleep. Another thing to mention is that the patio is shared with one other home, not in inconvenience, just an FYI. None of this is the homeowner's fault! With all that being said, I would stay again!

The location was excellent--right next to one of the Christmas markets, in the pedestrian/tourist zone of Colmar, about an 8 minute walk from the very affordable Parking Saint Josse garage (cost 3 euros per day), walkable to all of the main sites in Colmar, about a 6 minute walk from a small Carrefour grocery store, a 3 minute walk from a small playground. The apartment had almost all of the basics we needed - clean towels, dish soap, basic cooking utensils and supplies, laundry detergent, paper towels. Once we had the instructions from the host, it was very easy to get into the apartment and get the keys from the lockbox. We appreciated that they facilitated an early check in. It had a very convenient setup for a family with kids, including a crib and a full kitchen. Good heat and hot water. Overall - it met our needs as a small family who needed an apartment walking distance from everything, and we were satisfied with our stay.

Communication with the owners was a bit slow; I had to message and call a couple of times to work out arrival logistics and remind them we needed a crib, but they were very responsive on the day of our arrival. The apartment itself is fairly simple/basic; not luxury, but has most of what you need. The bedding/sheets were basic and could have been more comfortable. I wasn't able to find a cutting board (although it's possible I was not looking in the right place) and the fact that you couldn't hang the shower head/hose on the wall while you showered was awkward. For anyone with mobility issues, be aware that you do need to go up one slightly slanted set of stairs to get to the apartment.
