Basically everything. Location in a very sleepy town with stunning views . We had the Giovanni suite which was beautiful and spacious with great views. The breakfast room was absolutely stunning and an absolute surprise when we walked in . The owner Dana was so welcoming and friendly and spent a lot of time showing us around and telling us the history of the building and spoke excellent English . She organised a restaurant for us nearby which was also very good . High,y recommend. Free onsite parking

A little tricky to find and streets are quite narrow if you have a big car . No on-site restaurant at the moment but owners are working on it .

The breakfast (Italian or International) was one of the best I had during my 3 weeks in Italy with several choices to make, and great espresso. For sustainability reasons they do not offer a buffet to avoid waste, which is a great initiative. Breakfast was served in a grand room with sky high ceilings which transformed you back in time. The property manager Dana is such a delight, so warm and friendly, and readily available if anything is needed. The room was spacious and well equipped with a view into the internal courtyard area. The bathroom was lovely and bright with an elevated view over the town. Car parking was right next to the property in a private piece of land only available to guests.

The town is lovely but very quiet during the day so not a lot to see, although there are a couple of restaurants that open for lunch only (with good reviews) that I didn't get to try because I left to explore the surrounding area. Unfortunately there was nowhere in town to have dinner so driving was required at night to find a meal. Although there was the option to order delivery from a great pizzeria in the next town if you're stuck. I believe the property's restaurant will be re-opening in January 2024, which should be brilliant - the chef is amazing, so that will definitely be a huge bonus when it happens and I would love to re-visit to experience that.

Our stay there was all too brief and although the weather wasn't kind to us the owner Dana, was a Ray of sunshine. Nothing was too much trouble and she was almost omnipresent, being on hand to deal with any questions, whilst at the same time seeming to do everything. The atmosphere, decor and ambience was tranquil, tasteful and sophisticated and it was ideal base to get out and explore the region.

Nothing. But the challenge for Dana is how to be better still given such positive feedback. A few things that would have been useful for us, given that the village seems devoid of shops; Few more complimentary toiletries, soap, shampoo etc. Perhaps some milk. Tea, coffee and kettle were available and I'm sure all we had to do was ask. Just the odd couple of things to get you through that first full day. Finally, a little bit spent on beautifying the grounds would make a huge difference, literally the icing on a delightful cake.

For us we chose this location as a starting point to travel (by car) to Genoa, Turino, Pavia and some other places the area. Genoa was about 1hr 20min drive and so was Turino. It was a spacious appartement, when we arrived we were offered a choice, we could select the room we selected or another after having been given a tour of both rooms. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, which is very convenient and it is also a very nice restaurant with good food and there is also another good restaurant around the corner. Its quiet, nice view to the surrounding area. Easy parking, private property in front of the hotel. Net for the windows to keep mosquitos out. We did not order the breakfast, we bought some in a nearby supermarket (walking distance) and we were surprised one morning by the staff with some sweet croissants.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but there were somw tiny mosquitos and sitting outside to eat.... we were not the only ones eating, so when going here in September take some anti mosquito candles with you when you want to sit outside. Inside was fine, also a net in front of the windows so you could open them.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Palazzo Paleologi in Lu, Piedmont, Italy, which we booked through Booking.com. The property itself was breathtaking, a perfect blend of history and modern comfort. What truly made our stay exceptional was the remarkable service provided by the hostess, Dana. Dana's warm welcome and attentive assistance throughout our stay made us feel truly valued as a guest. Her impeccable English made communication effortless, and she was always there to help with recommendations and ensure every aspect of our visit was flawless. Her dedication to making our stay memorable is truly commendable. Booking.com made the entire process easy and convenient, from booking to check-in. The combination of a stunning property like Palazzo Paleologi and a hostess like Dana who goes above and beyond is a testament to the quality of experiences that can be found through Booking.com. We can't thank Dana and Booking.com enough for making our stay at Palazzo Paleologi an unforgettable experience. We wholeheartedly recommend both the property and the booking platform to anyone looking for a remarkable travel experience. Thank you again to Dana and Booking.com! Shklyar and Shapiro families

The Relais Palazzo Paleologi Sec. XIV is off the beaten track in the small town of Lu. The hostess, Dana, made us feel immediately comfortable and gave us wonderful tips on things to do and see in the area. The rooms are all very nice, with plenty of space and tastefully decorated. The breakfast is an absolute highlight! Everything tasted so good and was put together with so much care! Highly recommended (although we hope to find space here the next time we come to this part of Italy!).

We were looking for a comfortable room in a nice location as a stop on our way to Toscana. Very positively surprised with this place in Piemonte! Host was super kind and the breakfast was fantastic! Too bad we had a very rainy day and couldn't appreciate much o walks but room was comfy and cosy. Good stay and might return.

Dana is the kindest person you'll ever meet. She was avaliable at all times and helped us out with any question or problem. Exceptional! The room was super comfortable. Bigger than expected, good beds and a nice atmosphere. WiFi was also good, we were able to telework. We even had a kitchenette and made dinner one night at the room. We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was amazing. Super tasty food, great wine and a lovely view. Highly recommended. One of the best experiences ever. Don't hesitate, just book this hotel for an amazing stay!

The hotel is 20 minutes away from Alessandria train station by taxi, we found ourselves in a paradise, an ancient castle-like building and courtyard, with a huge terrace overlooking the rolling hills, vineyards, and mountains in the distance, The interior modern design blending in with old exposed red brick walks with artworks on the right place, shows more tasty characters in this hotel. The room is spacious, or huge I should say, with high-quality beds and bedding, clean, and quiet. But what makes our stay more memorable is the kindness and friendly staff. They keep the whole place clean and tidy and make sure that every guest's needs are taken care of. Dana, the manager who's on-site working diligently along with other staff, is so kind, she even helps my daughter print the school assignment from her office. I would highly recommend this hotel if you need to have some peaceful and quality time on your holidays or just a weekend escape, you will find yourself in the perfect place, drinking a bottle of wine with your friends on the terrace, watching the sunset, or having tasteful traditional Italian dinner in their highly rated restaurant on the rooftop with 5-star service. I would like to come back to stay one or two weeks here to explore more of the old village of Lu, and the vineyards nearby.

From the very first moment, we felt right at home. We stayed in a beautiful room, enjoyed an amazing countryside view, and had the most peaceful sleep. Highly, highly recommended! We will definitely come back.
