This stay was amazing. The location is fabulous with amazing views. The service was brilliant such friendly and polite staff. They know the area and gave us recommendations of things to do. The food was really good as well. Also, the staff were willing to go above and beyond when my mobile phone fell out of my bag. I live just outside of London and when leaving I hadn't realised my mobile had fallen out of my bag. They contacted me and were so good about it. They wrapped it up really nicely and waited for the courier . Also phoned my other half to let us know when he had come and when he was leaving and they were just all round fantastic in such a stressful situation. The room was really spacious , with TV and all the essentials that you need. Also the bed was really comfy. I had a brilliant nights sleep. Breakfast as well was really tasty. If you stay in Wales in the north 100% worth staying here. Great value for money.
The only thing which was a little hard to use was the bathroom. It's just the lighting wasn't the best lighting for doing make up, but it wasn't a massive issue as just went and did that in the main room instead. So, not a massive deal and easily rectified.

The location overlooking the bay is perfect and we received a warm welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and we had dinner at the hotel on one evening and it was excellent. It's a great location just 20 mins walk into Barmouth and perfect for longer car journeys or the train to Harlech or Dolgellu and beyond. The weather was kind and it was lovely sitting on the terrace with a drink.
Don't think there was anything we didn't like. It's a perfect hotel for a few days in Barmouth and the north west Wales coast.

view and the poached eggs staff very helpful and put my cooler bricks in the freezer for my day out on the cambrian coast railway great to have cold cider.
no extractor in toilet /shower room a bit of a tight fit in the shower. moaning woman in the next room complained to staff in the morning about us getting in at midnight and having a shower and no we weren't in it together as it was too small for two .She made sure we heard her moaning at breakfast didn't realise we aren't allowed to go boozing in the town and come back merry on our mini break but some people are very boring.

The location is beautiful. we had some trouble parking but that was really our own fault. You can watch the ocean from the breakfast room in the morning and we had an ocean view room also. That was great. We asked for a duvet, which was very confusing for the staff (no one had asked for a second one before I think), and they found us a blanket. We also got to lend two plates for our outside dinner. They were really accommodating towards my mums gluten intolerance and were lovely overall.
The only funky thing was the bathroom in the room. It had a bifold door and you basically felt like you were taking a wee in the wardrobe. The bed was also very small for two people. Keep in mind that both me and my mum have 180cm beds at home. So if you're used to less it will be fine.

We were very impressed with everything about our stay. A friendly welcome & a relaxed homely feel about the place. Great location high above the sea with great views from our room and the dining area. We only had a standard room but it was comfy & quiet and suited our needs perfectly. Despite being told on arrival there was a reduced menu because of the time of year, we found there was plenty of choice and the meals were excellent with generous portions. The full English breakfasts were also very good. The bathroom was a little on the small side but was adequate for our needs. The shower was hot & powerful. If we ever come back to Barmouth we will definitely stay here again.

The owners and staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was plenty of cereal, toast and cooked food for breakfast. I had a fantastic view of the sea from my room and it definitely was a "sea view". The single room was large enough for me and there was plenty of storage space. There was plenty of choice in the evening for the main meals.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Such a beautiful and interesting building. The food was heaven on a plate. Can honestly say that I have never tasted food like it, many compliments to the chef. I particularly enjoyed the shepherd's pie and the cod mornay, my husband couldn't get enough of the gammon steaks!
The room was a little bit small, I can't travel light and struggled a bit with all our stuff. You have to bring suitable clothing for all weathers in Wales!

Lovely location overlooking the bay. Very quirky hotel with lots of original features. Amazing entrance hall and reception in keeping with the houses originality. Friendly helpful staff. Compact and bijou rooms as described, had everything we needed.
Not a dislike but just to be aware this is a period property with stairs that’s are quite steep and narrow to upper floors. Something for people who find stairs challenging to be aware of before booking.

Absolutely gorgeous building with a stunning outlook. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the veranda and watched the sunset. Nice, easy 10 minute walk into the town. Lovely, friendly, chatty staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast - I'm not really a breakfast person but appreciated the hot coffee and the fruit and cereal selection. Our room had a sea view which was great. Kept the window open and woke up to the sound of the sea every morning. Lush.
It can't be helped AT ALL but the bathroom really is tiny. If I was any heavier I might not have been able to manoeuvre myself into the shower! That's literally the only thing - everything else was glorious.

Breakfast was good ..plenty of choice ..and tables overlookingv the sea. Turret room was lovely and qirky again wonderful views ..the original features in the hotel are stunning ..lovely lounge area too . All stsff were proffessional and fruendly and we will def. Be returning
The bathroom in turret rm no 1 is very small however it is hard to see how else it could be configuered... and the view more than compensated .
