The room was amazing and spacious and so was the whole hotel, it felt luxurious. It’s very close to fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s that was working 24 hours, Dominos and KFC. TV had some English movies and series so I did not get bored while staying in the room. They had a Canton Fair registration desk which was quick and very convenient as well as transfers to the fair. They were giving out water before shuttle and snacks when we were dropped off after the Canton Fair. Great hotel and service, I give it 5*

The hotel did not respond to emails or enquiries

The location is perfect either for canton fair (and free shuttle) as well as a short cab or slightly longer walk to all the markets, restaurants and attractions. There’s a mall directly over the road and 10 or so restaurants within a 10 minute walk (even a kfc and macs) . There’s a Starbucks a few mins walk away and Beijing Road is 15 mins on a cab.

I can’t really fault anything with this hotel

The Dong Fang was the most amazing hotel of my 12 day trip in China. I visited for 3 different hotels. We arrived at about 3am but.got a very warm welcome with pleasant staff. Rooms are spacious with spacious bathrooms. Breakfast is so well served. A huge variety of different options. Pool is amazing, even though we never used it. The manager on Duty, Kevin, really treated us so well and was so accommodating. He was really a gentlemen in how he ensured our comfort. The foyer is so grand and welcoming. You don't want to leave. I've been travelling to Guangzhou for many years. I've now decided that I'll only stay at the Dong Fang in future. Hassan

There was nothing not to like

Duty Manager Shirley Li was very helpful throughout my stay, and even offered me free breakfast because of the amount of nights I was staying. They hotel is clean and has comfortable beds that gave me good rest.

Some rooms and floors still smell of smoke even though it is a non-smoking floor. The wifi was down twice, for about a half day each, so I had to work from a neighboring hotel.

Excellent customer service from concierge to cleaning lady. This hotel was well staffed. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was super clean. While this hotel has aged, there is still a sense of grandeur. The price was very reasonable.

The couch and carpet is clean but it could do with some TLC to freshen up.

Got a double room with two separated rooms inside the same space. Two bathrooms and a small living room. Absolutely amazing. The breakfast is very good, much like what we are used to in Brazil. Staff very friendly. It was a good experience.

The building is a bit old. Deserves a restoration because it is very glamorous.

The location of the Hotel was very convenient to the metro and other main business areas in Guangzhou. The customer care of staff is very commendable as they demonstrated a high level of listening to customer requirements.

The carpets in the rooms a bit too old and I recommend the hotel, when resources allows to change them. Alternatovely, they should provide for carpet less rooms for guests to choose from

Grand entrance, upgraded to a suite, helpful staff, big bath, comfortable bed, great location

Security were a bit strict with masks (but they probably should be!) and went mental when we tried to ride our rental bikes to the door of the hotel

Good location, opposite hotel is a shopping mall and with super market. The receptionist can speak English well (perhaps his name is Roy?) he also upgraded my room to a bigger one.

Furniture is rather old. Swimming pool: only allow people with cap. Is it typical in China?

Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Tim from front office. Out of the congested area but not far from all the places and restaurants we like. Rooms are spacious

Housekeeping needs to be improved. We were given towels with holes in them. Some days our complimentary water, coffee/tea were not replenished, cups not washed.
