The hacienda is very nice and I enjoyed the lush gardens and the large pool where we played with my 5 years old son. The room was big and the bathroom as well. The beds were on the hard side but this is very common in Mexico. I was happy that the room had a mini fridge and a safe to leave our belongings. Waking up to the sounds of birds was lovely. The location was also very convenient to visit Uxmal and the Chocolate Museum. This hotel was great for a two night stay.

The restaurant of the hotel only serves breakfast and for anything else, you have to go to the entrance of Uxmal, at the Lodge for meals at another time of the day. The staff at the hotel was at its minimum despite being during Easter Week - supposedly high season. The pool could have been cleaner, it was full of leaves and flowers falling from the trees. Food at the restaurant (on the other side of the street) is so-so and expensive. Unfortunately, they have a captive client-base and basically no competition, which doesn't help quality. We however enjoyed the food and the service at the Pickled Onion restaurant right outside of Santa Elena (about 15 minutes driving).

Nice hacienda style building. Some of the rooms have hosted famous people which is fun to read about. The pool area is nice and a great spot to take a break after sightseeing at Uxmal. We got a large room - which was quite large, but a little dark.

Bathroom seems like it needs to be updated. The spa tub smelled when the jets were turned on. Hot water took a long time to come through to the fixtures. No dinner on site (maybe just the season), so you need to go offsite. Breakfast was decent onsite. Bar service was very relaxed - maybe a little slow, but there was not many people there, so not really an issue unless you are in a rush.

What a wonderful weekend! The serenity and beauty of this old gem brought us back for a third visit. We love staying in this historic hacienda and beyond that, the staff is very friendly and extraordinarily helpful; the pool is amazing; beds are very comfy; and the breakfast is yummy. We also enjoyed two very good dinners across the road at the restaurant next to the Uxmal ruins. Dont neglect to ask for Luis to guide a plantation tour for you…. Or Orlando to guide you through the ruins. These two are both very knowledgeable and their English is excellent.

I wondered why they are storing furniture at the top of the grand staircase. Not a good look. And the “museum” room in the hacienda needs some help.

This place was magical. You could feel the history! The room was beautiful and well appointed with high quality finishings. It was calm and relaxing, and also fun for our children to quietly play in the pool which also featured a nice bar. Breakfast was delicious. The location is also amazing - close to the archaeological site (which also has a light and sound show at night!) and the chick story museum which exceeded our expectations- we stayed 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer! We loved it!

There is no restaurant on site and only one option really for lunch and dinner across the road close to the archaeological site. They tried to push a 100 USD buffet on us, but in the end we were able to dine a la carte.

Lovely hacienda with beautiful swimming pool. The setting is fantastic, you're surrounded by trees and lots of birds, not to mention the iguanas. A haven of tranquility. We loved our room with it's traditional slatted windows for ventilation and rocking chairs outside the door. Excellent location for making an early start to visit Uxmal and a fabulous place to return to afterwards.

Bar and breakfast were quite expensive. If you don't have a car there's no evening meal option, other than going to The Lodge which was overpriced and not great cooking.

Position, tour available and local people. The Hacienda is very beautiful, the breakfast is good and the staff was very nice. The Uxmal archeological site is wonderful!

For the dinner, you have to go to the only near restaurant- crossing a street and wood by night in the darkness (some more lights would have been useful). When you arrive there, the menu is very US oriented (Hamburger and Pasta) - It doesn’t make sense. To be honest I’ve asked for more local food, and they made an exception and offered to us what was left from lunch - we were very happy.

Great location within walking distance of Uxmal ruins. We also spent time walking in the plantation around the hacienda. Dinners were excellent at the eco lodge nearby. An unexpected pleasure was the choco museum and planetario video show. Lovely to read the history of the hacienda and see pics of famous guests in the 60's and 70's including princess grace and lots of european royalty.

Breakfast was not up to the hacienda standards.

The location next to the Temple Uxmal. The pool was very nice and relaxing. The breakfast was good (eggs, pancakes, fruits, cereals..) even if very expensive (21euros) but I guess this is the price to pay in the middle of the jungle to have pancakes !

No restaurant inside the hotel for lunch and dinner and the restaurant next to the hotel is very expensive (41€for two pasta dishes and two bottles of water). All the restaurants next to the place seems to suck.

What an amazing place! Loved the history behind the place and reading all the biographies of the famous visitors on the walls. The room, the grounds and the pool were lovely. The staff was so kind and welcoming. We took a tour of the plantation in a vintage vehicle, it seems expensive but we had a wonderful time trying all the fruit, hearing the history of the property and listening to our great guide.

The menu options at the restaurant across the road (from the same company) are a bit limited, not a problem for us as we only stayed one night.

Great accommodation if you want to visit the ruins of Uxmal. Nice and clean in a really nice surroundings, worth exploring the history of the hacienda while you are there! Friendly staff and amazing sleep with the silence around. You can be sure to walk through the area of the ruins as one of the first ones!

The hotel (or recommended) restaurant which is the only one in a walking distance for dinner. Read the reviews before you go or just get dinner elsewhere if you have a car.
