- Location is +AAA close to all beaches, restaurants and activities, Oxxo downstairs - The staff at the reception and bar were always super helpful and friendly, shoutout to Irvin for making the best mezcalitas - The pool sets itself apart, feels like an oasis with the mountains on the background and the DJs/music are great (if you’re looking for a quiet place it might not be for you but they respect sleeping hours usually after 11 pm) - Co-working space is very basic but the wifi is great and it’s free unlike other similar hostels! - Rooms are cleaned everyday and they give you fresh towels for the pool for free if you ask, so it honestly felt a bit like a hotel - The place itself feels very new or updated - Lastly, the people I met were great. Nomads from all over the world just looking to connect and locals travelling around, the environment made it easier for to make friends This is the first time I stay at a hostel where I don’t really have anything substantially negative to complain about. I’d recommend it 100% and for sure will be back

The hostel is in an excellent location and offers a cheap breakfast. It was very clean. It’s a party hostel, the music is blasting all day and there is a happy hour every night.

I stayed five nights in the six bedroom mixed dorm and was woken almost every night by people turning on the room light in the early hours of the morning and two nights by someone empty the contents of their stomach in the communal shower.

While this is a hostel & mostly young adults, we were a large group of senior ladies. We stay 1 night to gather before travel to our rental. From very effective manager to maids & waiters, this was an amazing experience. Clean, perfect marina location, excellent food, this is a 10. Beds are hard, tvs didn't work but we agreed we would definitely book again and stay several days. We walked all around the marina, we felt very safe after dark. This was a wonderful experience.

Mayan Monkey in Cabo was an absolute blast! The vibe is super social, making it so easy to meet people and have fun every day. The food and drinks from the kitchen and bar were always on point. But the best part? The staff. It's what really makes this place shine. Rodo and Marlon were fantastic, always going out of their way to help, and especially Agustina who went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of throughout my stay. She made everything feel so personal and welcoming, her kindness and attention to detail made me feel like I was at home. The daily activities were a great way to bond with other guests, and everyone there was awesome—feels like I made lifelong friends. I was genuinely sad to leave this place. If you're looking for a fun and social spot in Cabo (even more so if you're solo), this is it! Thank you MM 🐵🇲🇽🌴☀️

The loves: -Hostel feel, but the option of a private room. -The view from our room was the entire marina! -Close to everything. Walkable if not leaving Cabo San Lucas. -Bar/food was awesome, as was the pool and beds by the pool. -Staff was super nice, and there was security at night. Super secure location.

The not likes: -We still paid over $400 for two nights and the bed was SUPER hard. -They have a dj every night that plays loud music until midnight/1am -Very much a party hostel, which is awesome you just have to be in the mood for that! -Sea lions in the marina are very loud all night- if your room is close to that, you’ll hear it nonstop. -Some of the rooms are directly above Senor Frogs. Which is also very loud.

Amazing location right on the marina and 10 minutes walking to a small local beach. Friendly staff. Very nice pool area, bar, kitchen, and restaurant. Daily activities. Free water. Comfortable beds. Cleaning crew works very hard.

Only 1 of the 2 showers in our room had a door that locked. Very expensive laundry service. Small lockers. Don't expect an early check in. We arrived at 8am knowing we were very early, but they said around 12 they might have a bed ready. At 2:30pm we saw they were checking in other people and were frustrated because we asked multiple times if they would let us know when a room was ready, or if we needed to keep checking back. We didn't complain, but the staff still gave us 2 free drink vouchers for the miscommunication.

My first experience staying in a hostel at Mayan Monkey exceeded all expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the fantastic location, delicious food, and outstanding staff. The hostel's location couldn't have been better, with easy access to all the attractions and landmarks I wanted to explore. Being centrally located made it convenient to navigate the city and soak in its vibrant culture. The food at the hostel was a delightful surprise. The hostel's kitchen staff ensured that guests were treated to flavorful and satisfying meals, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay. What truly set apart was its exceptional staff. Friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile, they made me feel right at home from the moment I stepped through the door. Whether it was providing local recommendations, organizing group activities, or simply sharing stories. As a first-time hostel guest, I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what I found at Mayan Monkey. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and enriching accommodation option in Los Cabos. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Everything. The location is perfect if you wanna stay in the touristic area, and is economic comparing Los Cabos is expensive and moreover high season. If they offer to you breakfast in 5 dollars, please take it. The breakfast is cool enough and in Cabo hardly you will find something cheaper and worthy nearby.

The staff didn’t have so much idea about other places to visit close to Cabo, I’m talking something not turistic. I was asking about some national parks that I found but they didn’t know about it, nonetheless they were kind and helpful.

really good value for money, super comfy bed and pillow in a nicely lit dorm and each bed also has a curtain for privacy. Complimentary towel upon arrival. Linen was super fresh like a hotel. fun atmosphere and pool/bar to hang out at. good aircon and showers, free breakfast and lots of activities on offer. I would have stayed extra nights if I wasn’t travelling the rest of Baja!

the playlist at the pool was often not the best, but it’s tolerable and you can always not hang out there to avoid it! a lot of reviews say the music is loud even in the rooms. you can definitely hear the bass pumping at night but for me it wasn’t enough to stop a good nights sleep. I enjoyed this place as a solo female traveller and met some cool people.

This was my first hostel experience as a solo traveler in her 50’s. This FAR exceeded my expectations. wow! location is absolutely ideal. Breakfast was yummy. Many daily activities…i even learned how to make a bracelet! go figure! :) This place made you feel you are a part of your family. Absolutely loved this hostel.

The only downside is that when our rooms were “cleaned” they still felt a bit dirty. I would never even think of walking barefoot on the floor, nor showering without flip flops. But maybe all hostels are that way. Not distgusting… just a bit dirty in the bedrooms.
