We really liked the location, as it is close to Katharagama, Yala, and many religious sites. The staff was very kind and helpful, making our stay relaxing and comfortable. Our package included breakfast, and the employees even prepared a special packed breakfast for us when we needed to leave early for a safari. That was very convenient. My wife particularly enjoyed the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel for families and couples.

Bathroom features were all on one level, or in other words, they were wet bathrooms. When you take a shower pretty much the whole bathroom floor gets wet. But we grew to tolerate it, and it was fine. The staff offered us to clean the room every day, so we had them clean the bathroom floor, which was very nice. So I wouldn't call it a negative.

The hotel was well located for the Yala National Park and visiting Kataragama which is a religious site combining Buddhism, Hindu and Muslim worship on one site! The food was lovely and so are the staff. They were very helpful in booking a Safari and getting hold of drivers for me. The room was a bit more basic but comfortable and everything was nice and clean. The swimming pool is a big selling point. It’s a large size And about a meter deep the full length with a small shallow area perfect for children!

Nothing really, it was very good value for the facilities

After reading mixed reviews we arrived at the hotel with low expectations to be honest. However how wrong we were! We stayed two nights and were the only guests, but the service we received was outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive. We met the owner, the charming Bernard “Hillary” who told us the history of the place. Rooms were spacious and had good a/c and fan, along with a fridge. Balconies off each room overlooking the amazing pool. We spent time lying by the lovely pool watching the many colourful birds swooping overhead. Bliss! We tried both the western and Sri Lankan food and both were delicious.

Some areas needed a bit of attention, for example the bathroom door was stiff but there were people working on these things while we were there. The western style cocktails weren’t great (but the arrack sours were definitely a hit!).

Location great for Yala safari. fantastic clean pool and great lookout from eating area. lovely place to relax and quiet. Room very nicely decorated and fresh. breakfast adequate. good background music. very helpful with safari arrangements. Comfy bed and pillows. owner was very understanding when we had to cut short our stay due to personal reasons. good value. Spacious tasteful bathroom.

the bathroom was a wet shower - we found the shower water travelled over a lot of the floor area, which concerned me in case of slippage. The staff addressed this immediately with me by providing extra towels. thank you

A nice light room, exactly as pictured online - large bed and a mosquito net should you need it, a/c and fan, tv, kettle, tea / coffee etc, refrigerator and pool facing balcony. Large clean bathroom with hot water and good pressure shower. Good wifi both in the room and common areas. Nice restaurant with good food. Bar area with comfy chairs and good ambience with background music. Large size clean pool and loungers and everything was spotlessly clean.

My only ‘complaint’ was I found the price of drinks to be higher than other hotels I’ve stayed in within the same area. Otherwise nothing to comment on and I shall be returning!

We stayed here two nights to visit Yala on safari. The hotel exceeded our expectations, it is like a little oasis for the price. The room was a good size and had most things you require in the room. There was also a mosquito net but we did not need it. The bed was comfortable and having a kettle and fridge along with complimentary water is a plus. All the rooms have views over the pool area, which was a blessing to use after a long morning on safari. The hotel arranged the safari for us (thirty minutes to Yala gate entrance), and we were one of the lucky ones to see a leopard along with a host of other animals. The staff were very friendly, particularly Jaya who happened to serve us for breakfast and dinners during our stay. The owner is a charming man who has worked abroad for many years and brought all his skills and experience to create this little oasis which he can justifiably be proud of. We could have easily stayed on longer to just chill out by the pool. Very good value overall.

Everything in this beautiful hotel was great: clean and spacious rooms, thoughtful and kind staff, tasty breakfast - one can choose between Sri Lankan and western breakfast too. The pool is great, has a separate area for small children and it was cleaned every morning. The absolute best value for money on our 5 week trip through Sri Lanka. Family friendly! Moreover: we booked triple rooms for two adults and a 16 month old baby as not all hotels and home stays had cots. Blue Turtle staff informed us three weeks ahead of our stay that they had cots available and that a double room with a cot would be a better option than a triple room with a cot as the rooms were the same size but a triple room with one single bed, ome double bed and a cot would have very little space left. They let us change our booking free of charge and we ended up having a more spacious solution for less money. And a very comfortable safe for for our baby! Also: the hotel organises jeep safari trips to the Yala and other national parks at very fair prices. We didn't get a chance to go as the Yala park was closed due to heavy rain. The hotel staff informed us in time, unlike a few other safari providers that take their clients to the entrance gate of a closed national park, let them wait there for half an hour even though they know that the park is closed for the rest of the day, and then demand a full price to be paid.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The wifi is excellent - best internet access I have had during my time in Sri Lanka. Even when the wifi became flakey, data coverage of the hotel is great. The bathroom is large with a comfortable shower - and the garden (and pool) are beautiful without any noise of traffic nearby.

No major issues but some minor tweaks can make the stay better: the position of the shower wets the toilet quite significantly after usage, perhaps a glass wall can be installed in between? Also please invest in a (brewed) coffee machine iso instant coffee with breakfast - just a pot of brewed coffee would be such a major upgrade for the quality of breakfast and fits with the type of accommodation you are offering. The restaurant is decent, nothing special but does its job - travelers might want to explore other food option nearby but note there arent many and all quite a long stroll away (not the hotels fault, but a headsup to fellow travelers for whom this might be important).

Love the open layout of the restaurant, bar, and check-in area. Good food. Conducive to meeting fellow travelers. Great pool. Comfortable beds with good mosquito nets. Excellent value. They helped organize safaris to both Yala and Udawalawe. Could have saved a couple bucks organizing the safaris ourselves, but they hooked us up with a vetted guide who was fantastic. They even provide box breakfasts if you are going to miss normal breakfast hours due to safari.

Good thing it’s a cool place because there didn’t appear to be much else within walking distance.

We only stayed for one night before our safari but we loved the hotel! The rooms are really nice and clean and the pool as well as the staff is great. The food is a bit more expensive than local restaurants but I would think that most people only stay 1 or 2 nights so thats fine. 1l water was 1 USD though in contrast to 150 rupees for 1,5l literally everywhere else so we did go outside to buy water and also ate lunch at a restaurant called "Chef Lady" which we liked. I would definitely recommend the hotel! :)
