Roelien and her team kept the house very warm with heaters throughout and electric blankets - we were there in exceptionally cold weather and greatly appreciated the extra efforts for keeping us warm in the house. Great location, very central, comfortable beds with lots of extra bedding provided for warmth. Roelien and her team were so friendly and made us feel right at home.

We simply loved the tranquility of Sutherland, the location of the guesthouse, the spacious rooms and the lovely veranda the Stellar Dust Guesthouse provided!

The use of the kitchen facilities was not obvious, maybe because of the handover period. It was somewhat of a pity that some outside lighting could not be switched off temporarily to fully enjoy the night skies Sutherland is known for...

The Guesthouse is well equipped and we had a very comfortable stay.The owners also own the Blue Moon Restaurant where we enjoyed a very tasty evening meal as-well as a breakfast the next day . Our stay was only one night which was too short to enjoy all the activities Sutherland have to offer .This was my first visit to Sutherland and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . My recommendation is to visit Sutherland for a minimum of 2 days . The Owner of Blue Moon Guesthouse and Restaurant and his staff are very friendly and helpful .

The most comfortable bed! I stayed in room 1 - it was warm, cosy and had everything i needed, and the bed was perfect. I normally struggle to sleep while away, but not this time. Bathroom wasn't en-suite, but i had one down the hall allocated to me and it was perfectly fine.

Filter coffee would be nice.

Sutherland is off to beaten track for most travelers. However don’t be put off. Stellar Dust Guesthouse was the perfect place to stay. Check in was simple and friendly. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and a friendly feeling too. All meals were off site but this was not a problem. Highly recommended.

To be honest no complaints.

The house is well equipped with beds, crockery & cutlery, etc but the kitchen is not available. There is however a microwave and fridge available for use. Only the large 4 sleeper bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, which only has a bath, basin and toilet - no shower and no shelving or cupboards. There are 2 other bathrooms, which are communal bathrooms which are both equipped with a shower, basin & toilet - the one is a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Very good breakfast served at the restaurant down the road from the guest house.

The bathroom in the 4 sleeper could definitely do with a bit of an upgrade

The Blue Moon was a real pleasant surprise to us. Located in the small town of Sutherland, its quality was much more than what we had expected. From a warm welcoming by the owner (who grew up in the house!), to a really comfortable bedroom (we were given a choice of two lovely bedrooms and what a difficult choice it was to make!) to a lovely breakfast at the off-site, quality restaurant. Whether it's the guest house or the off-site restaurant (at the town's main street), the owners of this establishment are highly quality conscious and are proud of what they do. I welcomed the sherry in the bedroom!!

We couldn't get the TV to work and on arrival we had to wait outside a bit for someone to come and open for us - and it was rather nippy and we were exhausted, having driven a couple hundred kilometres from Vanrhynsdorp.

Firstly Jannie and Roline were amazing hosts. Nothing was to difficult for them and they made us so welcome and comfortable. Really a home from home place to stay. Their restaurant is in main street and serves wonderful food especially the pancakes. There is a shared lounge and dining area and we had an en-suite with a bath. Loved our stay..

Nothing to dislike

It was a warm stay and we felt very welcome. Beautiful room with old world charm

Be prepared to operate a gas geiser if you want to take a bath. I picked a B&B because I love a good breakfast, however, we were told we had to eat a certain breakfast and the to ask permission to have something else. Also, when my daugter wanted tea instead of coffee, the waiter told her we will cost extra.

We just loved our stay and the Blue Moon Restaurant served 5 star food. Sutherland is a small town farming community with BIG hearts. The old house with antique furniture reminded us of elegant times in the past. All linen was crisp, clean and new and warm showers on a ice cold morning was lovely! We loved it and will certainly be back to this friendly guest house.
