The guesthouse was so nice, the owner was so kind & very generous, cooking me delicious meals & showing me around the town, also dressing me up in her traditional kimono. A wonderfull cultural experience

The location is very remote, no shops or restaurants in the town. Oshamambe, the closest town, is nice and easy too visit on the bus though. And you can buy yummy home cooked meals at the guesthouse, which are very affordable. I loved my stay here, had such a wonderful time !

Because we were cycling and needed a rest between the next stop, location was great. When we followed booking.com map it took us to the wrong place. Luckily our hostess was available and messaged us the correct route and met us outside. This is by the jr station near the ESOS gas station. Right behind. There are no convenience stores so make sure you pack some food. She was so kind to help us by preparing a beautiful dinner with tuna sashimi and a whole crab! We were so grateful for her kindness. She also shared a bottle of red wine to celebrate my birthday! Breakfast was also delicious.

Because I use the restroom often going up and down the stairs was a little tough but it was like being in someones home so it was fine.

I loved staying with Tomoki, she is a wonderful host and super kind. I missed the local train to Kunnui, and she came to rescue me at oshamambe. It’s a very warm experience of sharing someone’s home- very personal, not a hotel experience.

It’s near the train station but Kunnui is a very small village so the train only goes there 4 times a day. I took the JR rapid express to Oshamambe but then missed the connection as the train was slightly delayed and I didn’t know which platform to go to.

Wonderful, one of a kind home stay experience off the beaten path. Tomiko and her dog are extremely kind and generous hosts. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Could be challenging if you have mobility issues as the bathroom is on the main level and the stairs are quite steep to the second floor.

The host was very friendly and went the extra mile to have a conversation with us using Google Translate. A traditional Japanese set up in the bedroom. The breakfast was fantastic.

Nothing that we didn't like, but as with most Japanese accommodation the mattresses/futons are thin.

Lovely host, very nice to welcome you into her home. Communication through google translate. Nice breakfast. Gave us a little omakase as a souvenir.

It’s a normal house so walls are thin. But people in the next room were not noisy but you can hear the whispers.
