excellent buffet breakfast with a vast array of choices adult only "quiet pool' is great

It can be very busy and very noisy around the main pool as a result of all the activities organised by staff. The area's back from the pool towards the hotel can get quite scruffy and the sunloungers are a bit tired and I need or replacement/repair The hotel has additional charges to use the in-room safe and to park a. Given the price of the rooms this feels like a rip-pff and not what most other hotels of this rating would do. There is no happy-hour drinks price, (which explains why the hotel bar is often empty until very late in the evening The buffet has a great selection but it's repetitiive if you're there for a week

We asked to change rooms as the first room did not meet our expectations. The reception staff upgraded us free of charge to a superior sea view room. The view from our room on the fifth floor was spectacular. The hotel staff were all very helpful. The pool areas are great . We were there at the start of April so the pool was still a bit "Fresh" but that was to be expected. The food was as expected for a buffet style and for the amount we paid. The hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the traditional fishing village, stunning beaches via the small ferry, access to the natural wet land walks and the purpose built small commercial centre on it's doorstep with a variety of restaurants, bars and boutique shops.

The location is excellent. Everything is right on the doorstep .Beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming and professional. Good size swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds. The room is a good size and bed very comfy. Towels changed regularly. Plenty of parking available also you get two complimentary tickets for boat trip across river to beach at Atlantic ocean . Really enjoyed stay

Maybe a little refreshing of rooms and entertainment

The food at the hotel was excellent. Great choice and high quality. The room was comfortable but together with the bathroom needs a bit of modernisation. The pools and facilities were excellent. The staff were all pleasant and very obliging. The Entertainment team were excellent - full of energy and very engaging with all age groups.

The bedroom and bathroom were a bit tired. Need a bit of modernisation.

The hotel is clean and the staff are excellent they go above and beyond. Thanks to Emule for the Portugal trip details we had a lovely day on Saturday. The mud flats are a great place for nature lovers where you get to see a variety of Birdlife such as Egrats, Gulls, Turnstone, Whimbrel, Azure Winged Magpies and Hoopoes.

The aircon wasn't great and it was very noisy 2 out of the 7 nights, it wasn't the hotels fault but the bars in the village nearby, when reported to reception they did call the police to look into as that is all they can do.

After a 10day roadtrip this was our last stop before heading home, This was the perfect place to unwind and rest. The hotel has lovely gardens, various pools and hangout spaces. And some great outdoor activities for kids. We were also able to hire bikes right outside the hotel and enjoy the coastline. The location was wonderful as we could walk to the local village for dinner and the ferry point to catch the boat to the beach, Breakfast had a good selection of food, and the bar had a variety of choices if you weren't in the mood to venture out. It was reasonably priced as well. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Breakfast is served in the main restaurant, given it is a buffet, it is incredibly noisy. Lots of ongoing clanging with various tableware. So would think about how you can improve the acoustics in this area. Our room decor - furniture is a little functional but fine. Our first night we checked in late so had dinner at the bar. We could smell strong smoke as soon as we walked in. I think guests were smoking on the terrace, but it was coming into the indoor areas which we didn't appreciate.

This is a huge hotel that we visited off season. The terraces of many sun loungers that were empty in October certainly made me sure I wouldn't want to visit in the height of summer season! But for us it was fantastic. The hotel is huge. The pool and surrounding area was lovely. Pool cold so that kept it quiet! Lovely treat on our first night with a gorgeous sunset and free glass of bubbles from the view point - a nice touch! Room was spacious and we had one next door for our kids. Well appointed, had everything we needed. Staff were lovely - spoke many languages and always smiling and happy to help. There was a short walk down to the local village El Rompido that had some nice shops and some nice restaurants that we used all the time. Lovely grounds of the hotel with games for the kids. Got the ferry from the jetty to the beach using the free token that the hotel gave us. Beach was nice, long and empty and worth visiting. Nice bars and sitting out areas to relax. The hotel organised a transfer from Seville to the hotel which was great of them.

There were a few maintenance issues - bannister handrails broken - that could have actually caused a nasty injury. We got a way with it but came close a couple of times. Wouldn't want anyone to have to sue the hotel so hope they get them sorted this winter. We travelled from Seville to El Rompido - this was a long, expensive journey. We then had to get to Lisbon, which was a combination of taxi and bus and hours on the road. This was of our own making - not the fault of the hotel. But realistically, if you don't have a car then this is a tricky hotel to get to. But the location next to El Rompido is lovely.

This is a beautiful building in a lovely village with a prominent lighthouse and natural park surrounding the area. The staff were really welcoming and there was a safe place to leave our bikes. The location is gorgeous with great views over the village. The outdoor pool was lovely and breakfast was great. The WiFi was brilliant and a great choice of TV channels.

Some of the facilities could be updated, charging points in the room for example.

Great hotel, especially with kids. We loved the food, great quality for a buffet. Nice swimming pool, very convenient facilities like the poolbar nearby. And a big applause for the staff, they were excellent. So friendly and helpful. My compliments to the cleaning staff, to keep everything so clean!

I'm allergic to fish, so at the buffet it was not easy to see what food contains fish because it was not always marked. But this is personal, of course. Sometimes we had some noise nuisance from the room next door, but again, this is personal. We have little kids that needed to sleep early.
