This is the second time we have stayed here this year. The last was six months ago and the hotel has undergone a renovation on its main floor which was nicely done. The hotel is in a great location and has a friendly staff and good WiFi. The rooms are small but functional.
Since our last visit, the breakfast has changed into a very poorly managed buffet. We stayed five nights and each morning there were issues with no food, no plates, no silverware, no coffee, etc. The food was good but when the eggs ran out, we had to ask for more and then they cooked them and brought them out. It would be much better if the staff monitored the food and started replacing when it got low. I had to wait for a plate one morning because they didn't have any clean plates so they went and washed it for me. It really is a management issue that I hope they will correct before the next visit.

With the famed Witches' Market conveniently around the corner and Saint Francis Square around two more corners, this property could not be more central. Warm bed, clean bathroom, and hearty breakfast: what more could a traveller wish for? I loved the overall feel of the place, steeped in rich Bolivian culture and tradition. The price was more than generous.
Beware – La Paz is by no means a "peaceful" city. The traffic is chaotic, the roads are in poor condition, and the vehicles are rather old and not well-maintained. Take into account numerous traffic jams, accidents, roadworks, and slow-moving traffic.

Staff is amazing, location is great - close to everything and all walking tours, cafe run by Elin was great.
Sound proofing but I knew that there wasn't much sound proofing so not a big thing. Could have been a bit cleaner overall. The toiletries provided were very basic and there was no hair dryer. Great to have restaurants on bottom floor when you come back from a long tour and the food was great but the service was the worst we have had in South America so far. First day 30Mins to get a menu, gave us wrong drinks after 45mins and second day they forgot my order completely and we received the food after approximately 1.5hrs when we were in a rush to get to bed. Restaurant isn't the hotel itself but worth noticing.

Really helpful staff. There's 2 restaurants in the lobby (operated by the same people but different menus) that were really good. Also a cafe at the front of the building which does great sweet things. Close to the witches market and the main square so easy to find your way around places. Extended my stay for a few days as it was such good value for money! Had soft lighting in the room too which I appreciate because I'm prone to migraines.
Could feel the springs in the bed mattress which gave me a bit of a sore back.

Very good shower and hot water at the basin. The beds were comfortable although with heavy blankets. Good internet, bedside table and lamps, many sockets, cupboard, chair and long tablet to put things. Rather quiet depending on the neighbors. Elevator. Very good location close restaurants and the historical plaza San Francisco where all the bus are passing through. Very good indoor or next restaurants. Very good and generous buffet breakfast.
The towels are worn out and don't smell good. No small towel to put on the floor of the bathroom which is very cold in La Paz ....

The view from the room was really nice. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful during the 2 nights we spent here. Very conveniently located!!! On the best street in the area and right next to alot of attactions including the cathedral and Witches market a street away. The on-site restaurant was convenient too and the buffet breakfast had a good selection
The pillows could be a little better. The shower is confusing and should be more enclosed, we kept getting water all over the floor outside the shower and it couldn't be helped. The door to the bathroom was also creaky and my partner and I kept waking eachother up every time we went during the night. Oh, and the elevator was broken during our stay... not sure how often that happens but walking up and down to the 5th floor was not fun! Otherwise everything was pretty great

This hotel is so comfortable - I had a really great stay (and even extended it). It's well located, right next to the main tourist streets with lots of cafés, bars and restaurants. There's also a restaurant within and a café joined to the hotel, both of which serve local and/or healthy, plentiful meals. I'd like to give a special mention to the extremely helpful receptionist (an older gentleman) who was so kind to me when I felt ill during my stay (an illness I'd picked up before arriving in La Paz). The hotel is clean and safe, with hot showers and plenty of plug sockets in the rooms. The breakfast is really nice and varied too. I'd definitely recommend and I'd stay again!
Nothing!

Hotel Sagarnaga was a great place to stay. Centrally located in the old part of town, the hotel was mere minutes of walking from nearby attractions, cafes and restaurants. Depending on the room, depended on your view, the hotel also had a great breakfast and an onsite masseuse. We stayed a number of times during our trip to Bolivia, the rooms were always clean and the staff were exceedingly helpful. I would stay again.
There was not much not to like, the hotel was a little rough around the edges but this added more charm than distracted from our stay.

Great location right next to The Witches Market.Very lively & safe part of town. We paid extra & got a large room with views. Definitely worth it! Within the hotel there is a cute Cafe, plus restaurant for breakfast which was lovely. As were the staff! Lots of travel companies close by to book tours. And ATM'S. Hotel staff were very kind. We loved our stay. We organised a late check out for our O/N bus to Uyuni. All perfectđź‘Ś
