I recently stayed at the Kyoto Yamashina Hotel Sanraku and couldn’t have been more pleased. Just a five-minute journey from Kyoto Station, this beautiful and comfortable hotel offers stunning views of the city and surrounding landscapes. The room was impeccably clean and equipped with every amenity imaginable, making my stay exceptionally convenient and relaxing. The staff were warm and attentive, adding to the overall delightful experience. If you’re seeking a serene retreat with easy access to Kyoto’s attractions, this hotel is an outstanding choice.

Great location just out of central Kyoto but close to station. Women only spa was excellent. Comfortable beds, well-laid out room, close to supermarket for meals and snacks. Cleaning staff were thorough. Everything was very clean.

Hard to find good restaurants close by but there are some. In the end, I opted for buying from the supermarkets and eating in my room and that was fine and cost effective. Room might be squeezy for two people if you like space but I found it fine. It was well configured and had everything you need.

The hotel is situated at the suburbs of Kyoto but has got a lot of great food options in proximity. It is really 2 mins away from railway station and "sits on" a underground train line. If you want to catch a flight at Osaka Airport the Express Train Haruka passes directly at the neighboring train station ONLY until 8.14 o'clock otherwise you must take the train to the airpot from Kyoto station (another 10-15 min with train). It can not get any better than that. The staff was great, the rooms are exceptionall, the connection to city center and sightseeings is ideal, local restaurants in few minutes walk, shopping center next to the hotel. The value-for-money element is unbeatable. I would ONLY recommend!!!

The breakfast is very japanese oriented. There is not much western-european options but if you are in to japanese food, my God you will love their breakfast. They have a lot of coffee options too.

The location was amazing. You see the hotel as soon as you get off the train, its literally across the street. The room was spacious compared to others rooms with stayed in in Japan. My wife loved the spa. they had an amazing Japanese breakfast. We arrived early, they stored our luggage and when we checked in our luggage was already in the room. a much more local vibe, even though its only one stop from kyoto station, we didnt see many other westerners

I love thé on s’en used it 3 times , somehow it helped to relax my soar feet’s after long walks all over the city’s landmarks. bed was very comfy. great value . will return if in Kyoto great that it only 3 min walk from JR line . therefore JR pass could be used. I asked for mountain view. and I got it, was surprised that the mountains were so close . even though the rail station is nearby I did not hear the noise.

I was surprised that in country like Japan there was a mirror in front of my bed. I was able to fix this with a towel. I remember that for many tourists in Vogue montreal it was a big nono while choosing the hotel. Anyway the good outweighted big time. Thank you

The location was perfect, with easy access to the station, convenience stores and a department store. The wide range of amenities we got in the room were amazing too!

I think the most disappointing thing is that they don’t have a laundry room. You need to go outside to do your laundry. There is also a lack of electrical outlets (I think). The AC unit is also hotel-controlled, so you can’t control the temperature yourself, which is a bit of a letdown.

This is just amazing. The cleanness is absolutely perfect. Incredible clean. I come from hospitality industry and understand how hard is to keep the facilities clean but this hotel has exceeded my expectations. The bath available for women is great to Hotel staff is super kind The location is perfect. Some lines you can access by elevator from the hotel while the others are 3min across the street. Important to say - there is no noise. The coffee in the room was awesome too

Nothing Everything was great

Breakfast buffet was beyond magnificent - highly recommended. Reception area - beautiful. Conveniently located above the underground shopping area and subway and access to JR train station. Very luxurious ladies spa with assistant - really a treat.

Stair only access to the Ladies Spa make it difficult for guests with disabilities or aged.

This place is great - the rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially for the price. They've got all the amenities you need, and they even throw in Nespresso coffee capsules every morning, which is a nice touch. Plus, it's super convenient being so close to the train station. And if you're rolling in with a big van, no sweat - plenty of parking spots nearby to accommodate

great hotel, lots of facilities in the room, big room with a big bathroom (not so common in Japan), friendly staff, nice spa (women only)

If I have to say something I will mention that you have actually to get the train to get to Kyoto center (just one stop, only 5 minutes), but still if you want to stay out late you need to get a cab
