Excellent location and great facilities. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and very accommodating. Pool area is beautiful and a great place to sit with a drink and unwind after the day. Room was a great size and the bed was comfy. Loved that there were laundry facilities, makes a longer stay so much easier.

We were there for an extended stay and the quality of the room servicing varied from day to day. Sometimes the room servicing was excellent, but at other times - the beds weren't made properly, rubbish bins not emptied, rubbish left on the floor that had fallen out when they were tipping the bin, some days they took the towels and didn't replace them. Seemed like they forgot to finish off. But they were fully booked and under a bit of pressure.

The room was perfect as it came with underground parking and we were travelling with bikes and kayaks,

Breakfast was advertised as $19 for continental. We were then charged $22 per head at end of stay. We were advised by staff that the new prices hadn't gone into the brochure yet.. NOT a huge amount but that could have been conveyed easily and prevented an embarrassing conversation at checkout

The beds are comfy, the swimming pool was amazing especially after returning home from Otehei island. This is one of my regular accommodation venues whenever i stay in Paihia. A very nice place to stay with family or as a couples weekend away. It has its own restaurant too.

Some of the staff need to take a chill pill. We pay good money to stay at these places and respect goes along way. We got the odd grumpy receptionist when one of us ACCIDENTLY knocked a glass bottle off the table and it smashed, which we started to clean up straight away until she started cursing at us. Everything else was great. I would definitely stay again.

The help and support I received from Janine and her staff in the restaurant area for breakfast and dinner, I enjoyed all the meals in the restaurant price range was satisfactory the service was incredibly satisfying your chef was amazing. Janine was very supportive professional and helpful recommend her work ethic so welcoming the customers. Awsome staff member, I will come back to Kingsgate any time hopefully very soon..... Helpful staff willing to go the extra mile to supply a good breakfast. Great location for the rest of Paihia

The breakfast room was very noisy. Coach trips seem to take up all the main area and were on both mornings very loud, spoiling the whole breakfast experience. It would be a better idea to separate the coach tours from individual guests. Coach drivers warming up their coach engines at 0715hrs for 30 mins, absolutely no requirement in this day and age to do that and giving everyone an early call, when they are on holiday.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food at the restaurant, so did my Mum, who travelled with me. Sadly we were the only diners. The Autolodge has a great central location which is an easy walk to the shops and the wharf.

The stairs behind the reception leading up to the restaurant were hard for Mum to negotiate as she's not very nimble on her feet. The other thing was the basin in the bathroom area had a dodgy plug that didn't keep the water in so it was hard to shave.

Beds very comfortable and location was great. Breakfast was included in the accommodation and was very nice - couldn't fault it and good value.

Dinner at restaurant was disappointing and overpriced. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was very dry and overcooked. I had just recently had a knee replacement and found it very difficult to negotiate the stairs - and was amazed there was no lift available. As I was somewhat incapacitated was disappointed with the TV selection available especially in this day computer age as there was no excuse for such limited access to TV channels and no streaming available.

Convenient that it's close to everything. We didn't need to drive in our car to go get food or supplies. Love how its just infront of the sea. Check in was fast and easy. Got in our rooms with no problems, easy to access. Relaxing stay.

Would be nice if we could get a few bottled water in our rooms instead of using the water from the bathroom tap. Internet was bad.

The hotel is nicely located with the wharf, restaurants and all the amenities nearby. The rooms were nicely setup, clean and well maintained. Staff were amazing to deal with throughout our stay and were extremely helpful towards our need.

There was nothing there during our stay that we did not like or appreciate.

Stunning location, as a single woman travelling alone I felt safe walking around the property. Clean tidy room with clear instructions on everything I needed to know.

If I had to complain the only thing I would say is that the lady on the phone was a little short with me when I ordered room service, but it could’ve been busy or I just caught her at a bad time so it’s no problem!
