The staff were all friendly and efficient and all willing to help. Makes a huge difference. Breakfast had good choice, best omelets ever. Food and drinks were delicious and no waiting times. Room spacious and lovely view.

Our deluxe room was a bit strange. Although it was a great size, lovely view, it felt like you were living in the bathroom. It needs hooks to hang your towel up closer to the shower. Otherwise you step out the shower and walk across the room to get your towel and clothes. Or leave them on the floor. The TV channels were quite limited. A couch or couple of chairs would have been nice.

A beautiful place, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was great very spacious. Good breakfast and excellent dinner but the speed of delivery from the kitchen needs to be improved. The beach is perfect. Security on site is really good.

Important to note our visit was at a very busy time (new year 2025). The pool is located in a strange small corner of the site which is surprisingly given the vast size of the site, it’s very noisy there with a lot of children so not so good for adults seeking relaxation. We are not golfers, I suspect it would be extremely good if we were but we were disappointed that there was no driving range which might enable non golfers to get involved. We’d hoped to hire bikes but that was not possible on site and the wait to have a massage at the spa was so long it was not possible to have any treatments during our visit, we were very disappointed with that.

Beautiful surroundings, pools and golf course. Buck running around freely. The dinner was very good but a bit on the pricey side. Close to pools and amenities. The spa is lovely. Had the best massage with my husband. You get free still waters brought to your room every day. Has bar fridge in room.

The attention to detail and mood in the hotel restaurant is lacking. Buffet Breakfast was okay but often short on refilling coffee station and butters etc. Small things such as lack of teaspoons on teacups and the way the table is setup. The a la carte menu at dinner is delicious but pricey. We stayed in deluxe room with shower only. It could do with a place to hang hand towels. The rooms balcony is tiny. Just enough space to fit 2 chairs but not enough to move around on. Otherwise everything was very good.

The room was lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The amenities were amazing. When we asked for extra water we were given a 5 litre bottle of water which was appreciated.

The restaurant food was not up to par. We were very disappointed with the dinner on night 1. Definitely not value for money. Night 2 we went to a local beach restaurant which was amazing.

Walking up and down the stairs without any other option like a lift 2. The standard appear to be top like the well known 5 star hotels of umhlanga and ballito but when you get there there are some little disappointments ie no assistance with your luggages. Receptionist will just give you your keys and point your direction with no one to assist you to find your way. If you can also make more variety on your breakfast and appropriate coffee machines than those flasks you use to serve. Otherwise San lameer can be the outstanding hotel in south coast if you can fix these little things here and there.

This is our 4th stay at San Lameer and it’s a place we are very fond of. During 2 weeks at the end of July and early August, 4 of us stayed here twice, for a total of 7 nights. On the South Coast near Margate it's our preferred location as it offers us a clean, safe hotel with proper restaurant and bar facilities. Looking out over the lagoon and pool with a beer/wine in the evening is very calming too. Food in the restaurant is good, plentiful portions and a good selection during an evening meal (they’re refurbished the restaurant too and it looks very nice). Buffet breakfast offers a good selection of the usual items. They have a good bar here too, with excellent service, we got to know Trevor and Eric over our 2 stays and Jennifer particularly made us feel special. Always friendly with a smile, conversation and a laugh too. The rooms are good and clean and are cleaned daily, thank you to housekeeping. As international travellers we utilised the much welcomed laundry service daily, a good prompt service. It’s a lovely resort, I can’t play golf these days, but we had a good tour around during this trip, taking our daughter and the mother in law to the beach. We also visited the Pro Shop where our daughter picked up some very nice golfing gifts and shirts for her boyfriend back home. Overall, the staff here are very good, welcoming at breakfast and in the evening (we were always out during the day so didn’t do lunch), friendly and helpful. We all really felt at home here and were sad when it was time to go home. Love this place and we’re booking again for 2024! Thank you San Lameer, see you next year!

We can see that some areas are being renovated which is great and in our view should continue.

The interleading rooms, the safety and the fact that generators worked The breakfasts were amazing, the staff on duty was friendly and caring.

I requested lactose free milk prior to the booking for the room, this was accepted on the app, never provided. Alerted reception, did not provide feedback. The one room was not cleaned as consistently as the other. Room downlighters that was over the wash basin did not work, the toilet door was troubling and my family member got stuck, we had to assist to get them out. The temperature control panel was not working in the room. The quality of the TV reception differed from the rooms. The lagoon restaurant, does take long to serve for lunch and dinner.

All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Service was on point. Room service was very quick. Lots of activities to do. Peaceful and relaxing. Food did taste good. Just chips to maybe improve. Beach was very clean. Overall customer service was very good.

Low pressure shower and water issue. Some food items prices a bit high. But tasted good. Only online menus which was difficult to view with bad network and elderly people will have a difficult time with using QR code and internet. Spa massage prices a bit high. Compared online brochure to other high end massage spa's.

The breakfast buffet was beautifully presented, it tasted really good and fresh. The location of the resort is just amazing.

There's only 2 things that I didn't really like when I walked into the room, and that was seeing a 5Litre bottle of water and blue plastic jug on top of the table, it kinda made it feel like I was walking into an air bnb and not a hotel, otherwise everything else was perfect.

It was a very relaxed holiday with my wife. Forgot about our normal daily routines (work, kids, admin etc). The one pool we went to was very big and we enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with my wife.

It’s not a biggie, but there are monkeys in the resort/estate, so you need to ensure that all windows are closed all time. The hotel can maybe use better Aircon’s in the rooms.
